Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The team consistently updated us with the progress.  As this project was extremely complex, we did not meet the original deadline but we were aware ahead of time the reasoning and it was unavoidable.  The team worked extremely hard to ensure we received all the functionality plus additional improvements we desperately needed.

What was your primary form of communication with IT-Geeks?

Virtual Meeting

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to handle so many tasks at one time.  Some days we were submitting 10-15 different things that needed to be handled and they were always on top of it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something IT-Geeks could have done differently?

Each time we received an invoice it showed as past due.  It was unclear how it could be past due when it was the first time we received the invoice to pay it.  This is a minor thing but it was frustrating the first time it happened because we are very meticulous about ensuring invoices are paid on time.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of Salty Mermaid, Inc., a swimwear and apparel company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire IT-Geeks to accomplish for Salty Mermaid, Inc.?

We’ve hired IT-Geeks to assist with our technical development, web design changes, and technical site management.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

IT-Geeks has built landing pages and sourced and implemented apps. The team has also done technical coding and hard coding. IT-Geeks has worked on pages for Salty Swap, sustainability, about us, and a new homepage overhaul. The team has also worked on understanding Shopify use and areas.

What is the team composition?

We work with 2–5 teammates from IT-Geeks.

How did you come to work with IT-Geeks?

We found them through Shopify. We chose them because they had high ratings, good value for the cost, and company values aligned.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost is confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We use Basecamp to manage cards throughout our project timelines. There are over 75 small projects inside of our overhaul that IT-Geeks has assisted us with throughout our ongoing partnership. Our UX has been improved with both teams allowing for increased sales, site navigation, and use. We’re up 35% in sales since adjusting our UX and paid marketing approach.

How did IT-Geeks perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicate through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

IT-Geeks’ communication and management are wonderful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only challenge we’ve had is the time difference between the US Eastern Time and India. With that said, the IT-Geeks team stays online to accommodate us for pressing projects. Ea (CEO) and her team have been wonderful at accommodating our needs and timelines.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We're a company that designs and handmakes jewelry and accessories using vintage materials. We support small, local, LGBTQ+, and women-owned businesses, with operations in New Hampshire and Colorado.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with IT-Geeks?

We needed to redesign our website with Shopify 2.0 to ensure a modern, scalable, and conversion-focused experience. The new design had to replace the current Spark theme with a premium Shopify theme, incorporating advanced features, an improved UX, and a strong brand identity.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

IT-Geeks redesigned and migrated our existing Shopify store to a modern Shopify 2.0 architecture using a premium theme and a conversion-optimized layout.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one teammate from IT-Geeks.

How did you come to work with IT-Geeks?

We found them through an online search. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, and they offered good value for the cost.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August–October 2025.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

IT-Geeks sent us video updates of the site as it was being designed for approval. It was fantastic to get those and preview the site and functions as it was being rebuilt. Our current employees loved the look of the new site.

How did IT-Geeks perform from a project management standpoint?

IT-Geeks' project management was good. Our primary form of communication was virtual meetings, and messaging apps. We ran into a few times where it was challenging to communicate what we wanted to achieve, and we had to go over it a few times before it was right.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

IT-Geeks' communication during the project was good. Steve was amazing; even after the project was over, he helped us with things we found later and with changes we wanted to make.

Shopify Experts

Why did you select IT-Geeks over others?

• High ratings
• Pricing fit our budget

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

IT-Geeks has been a great partner for our company, since we do not have an internal web-developer. We rely on them anytime we have concepts and upgrades in mind for our Shopify storefront. The are experts with Shopify sites and always complete the work quickly and it's well-done. They're available for minor adjustments even once the job is completed, and always willing to jump in and help us answer questions. We appreciate them so much!

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We usually email them a list of things we want to change on our website, giving visual references when needed. For this most recent project we wanted a custom landing page template that had the option of a colorful background rather than the standard white, as well as a custom font with adjustable sizing and a variety of different blocks like carousels to feature various content like imagery, videos. They accomplished exactly what we had in mind, based on our reference, and did so very quickly (within a week or less). Their prices are reasonable.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They delivered exactly what we needed. Once we started populating the page we noticed a couple very minor issues, and when we reached out they jumped in and immediately fixed it. They're very responsive, communicative, and fast-working, and their rates are reasonable.

No SEO dip, no bugs, no scrambling. Our new site launched cleanly and started showing up in search almost immediately.
