I had a law firm client that needed a brand refresh and a new website design.

The big challenge was differentiating my client from all of the other personal injury firms in the greater Philadelphia area.

How did you select this vendor?

I’ve known Iperdesign’s founders for 10 years. They do great work and I knew that they could make something as commonplace as personal injury litigation seem exciting and new.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They recommended a vendor for a photo shoot and video production, as we needed to tell the law firm’s story. From there, Iperdesign created a new logo, mood boards, potential campaign ideas, and wireframes for the website’s design.

What was the team composition?

I worked with their creative director and CEO, as well as with the outside vendor for the photo and video part.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I no longer have access to my client’s analytics, however, it’s clear that the new branding is making quite the impact!

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I was responsible for managing the project between the client and Iperdesign. We kept regular communication throughout the course of the project until I handed it off to Iperdesign for completion.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their creativity is remarkable. They’re true out-of-the-box thinkers, which is just what I was looking for.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

Not that I can think of. I really enjoy working with them.

The project entailed refreshing existing collateral with new brand messaging in addition to creating new sales assets that highlighted our brand using compelling visuals and effective copy.

We are a multinational company with locations throughout ninety countries. We offer seminars on leadership, public speaking, sales, and management, both on an individual level for people who attend our classes in person or online, and on a corporate level. What business challenge were you trying to address with Iperdesign?

Initially, we had some graphic design needs. We had an extensive email campaign at the time. With the explosive growth of the smartphone, we realized that a lot of our content could be developed as a smartphone app, and thus we could attract a whole new type of customer.

Iperdesign has developed and programmed an app for us, called Secrets of Success. It was initially developed for iOS, and we later created an Android version. It became the number one app in its category in fifteen countries.

How did you come to work with Iperdesign?

Iperdesign is a perfect combination of strategic and highly creative talent. They understood both the strategic concepts of targets and the creative aspects of marketing.

We started working together more than fifteen years ago. The work is ongoing.

Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from this engagement?

Our app became the number one best-selling app in the Apple Store in its category. Iperdesign helped us reach a whole new audience and reposition our brand as a relevant and contemporary one.

Regarding quality of service, an agency that understood our business was essential. They needed to understand our overall objective and be able to translate it into the kind of content and promotional materials that would engage audiences. On a more practical level, we needed a responsive, on-time, and on-budget agency.

Dale Carnegie Training is a workplace training and development company operating all over the world, in over ninety countries and in thirty languages. We primarily offer training for leadership, public speaking, communication, and other forms of soft skills. We are based on a franchise model. I am located in the corporate office of the franchise.

What is your position?

I am the Senior Marketing Manager for Franchise Support in the Americas.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Iperdesign?

One of the things that we struggle with as a franchise is creating a consistent brand across the world. We’re tasked with the job of influencing our franchisees. It’s always better to positively influence people and make them want to adopt your practices, than acting as brand police and imposing what can and can’t be done. It’s more productive to push the envelope and create a desire for people to use your materials, rather than going out and creating their own off-brand materials. Many of the things that we’ve done with Iperdesign have revolved around branding.

Please describe the scope of your involvement with Iperdesign in greater detail.

Iperdesign worked on a number of projects for us. We relaunched our corporate solutions project, which is focused more towards companies that have training needs but want them to be customized to their organization. Back in 2006, Iperdesign created the visual identity and the marketing collateral around those materials. For something to be willingly adopted, it has to be dynamic. Our corporate solutions project has been one of the most successful things that we’ve launched in the past couple of years. A lot of it had to do with its visual look, as well as how it was organized. Iperdesign played an important role in this process, creating the collateral around the project.

Another project they’ve worked on for us was developing the Dale Carnegie Secrets to Success app. When the app was launched, it reached the number one position for its category in quite a few countries, including the United States. It was originally a paid business app, which caught the attention of our franchise network and allowed us, as the corporate franchisor, to be viewed as a leader in the category. Other training organizations didn’t have an app, and most certainly none of them an app that reached the number one spot in their business category. That was a positive way in which Iperdesign helped us to be viewed as a leader.

More recently, they’ve worked with us on a blog redesign. Our blog is one of the more socially shared ones in our industry. The content obviously has something to do with this fact, but if someone visits a page that looks good and presents a generally good environment, they’ll be more inclined to share it. That was another positive project on which Iperdesign helped us.

How did you come to work with Iperdesign?

I was not a part of the process by which we chose them, which took place around ten years ago. By the time I came to work with Iperdesign on a day-to-day basis, they were already a noteworthy graphic agency.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

On average, we spend $50,000 to $75,000 per year for Iperdesign’s services. Bigger projects, such as the corporate solutions one I mentioned, would have cost a lot more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have an ongoing relationship.

Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from your work with Iperdesign?

One of the things I’ve noticed about graphic design agencies in general is that if they’ve worked with a client for an extended period, they’ll be less inclined to push the envelope, instead only doing the kind of work the client is comfortable with. Iperdesign has done a great job of pushing our limits in a way that fits our company. They’ve made avant-garde designs that were still compatible with our corporate marketing. In their proposals, they tend to feature more conventional work, but they always make proposals for moving the work to the next level.

Even if we don’t always opt for the more avant-garde idea, it’s great to have an option. It helps us see where the cutting edge is. To me, this is the power provided by working with an agency. We could hire internal resources that would give us consistent results, but we’d never get the different point of view and polished vision that an agency can provide. Iperdesign can straddle that line and do it in a way that’s palatable for our leadership. What they produce is evolutionarily tied to what we do.

What distinguishes Iperdesign from other providers?

Iperdesign is reliable. Their missing a deadline is not even a possibility. They also check their egos at the door. We work within the corporate marketing area; training and development is not exactly a packaged product. Iperdesign is very adaptable within this paradigm. They don’t simply offer a cookie-cutter approach. They’re more willing to take on a challenge as exactly that—a challenge. They’re always looking for ways in which to provide something unique and different in what can traditionally be a boring space. This is something we greatly appreciate.

Is there anything Iperdesign could have improved or done differently?

No, we’re very happy with their work. If we had a bigger budget, we’d use them for even more things. Iperdesign has flexed and grown with us as our relationship evolved.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Iperdesign?

We needed quick design work for an e-learning prototype.

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We first used their services years ago. They were able to create a design for us quickly and successfully. It lead us to use them for our largest client at the time, who was looking for template designs for a series of books, and wanted something out of the ordinary. We had farmed this work out to a couple of agencies, among which was Iperdesign. They came out with some great designs. I was in charge of making the presentations for the work, and they gave me all the rationales for their choices. I knew exactly why a certain palette or imagery had been chosen, in order to do a successful presentation.

Recently, we've worked together on a large e-learning program for a healthcare association. We wanted to work on some wire-framing and UX for the project. Iperdesign took our outlines and created a great online tool design. The client said that the wireframe they saw was the best presentation of a core concept they’d ever seen, giving them a good sense of how it would work. We then engaged Iperdesign to work on the actual design templates. They had to differentiate the tool from the client's actual website, and give it the look of an actual e-learning space. The design was well-received and approved for the actual development.

The total cost for our latest project was around $30,000.

We started working together in 2010. We've used Iperdesign several times throughout the years for design work.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Having worked with other design firms and web agencies, I can appreciate Iperdesign's thoroughness. They do a good job of outlining project scopes and sticking to them. The design work itself is very good. They have an innovative approach and they challenge our ideas. Sometimes, we push back on them, which is overall better than having a boring process. When the design has to stand out, Iperdesign will come through.

What distinguishes Iperdesign from other providers?

Even though they are very creative, Iperdesign also brings a solid rationale to the table. We don't always go through with their ideas, but I appreciate that they put a lot of thought in their work. They don't act like a vendor, but rather like a partner.

Is there anything Iperdesign could have improved or done differently?

Nothing comes to mind. They meet deadlines and have always come through for us.
