Our app functions as expected and any issues are handled. In three years we have received almost zero customer tech support requests or issues - our app runs smoothly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The CEO Deep Kalina has excellent communication skills and helped get the project into Asana so it would run smoothly. IntuitioLabs are a good value and gave us a flexible structure of hourly work as we need it, which was very helpful when we were an early stage startup.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Intuitio Labs could have done differently?

It would be ideal to have one team member assigned to our account who stays on longer but we have had three main points of contact due to turnover or transitions, which maybe cannot be helped in the nature of this work and over 2-3 years. 

Overall a good experience though: I've referred multiple people in my network who were looking for on-demand software or app dev work at a great rate. Deep's team has been instrumental supporting my software company's dev needs.

Excellent project management. They were responsive to my questions, progress was transparent, and they adapted when my own schedule was interfering with my production tasks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with Deep and his team was fabulous. I am running an existing company, and having a contractor that I can trust in this way is rare. It felt as if we were all as invested in the results and passionate about the project. The global team members were all amazing and Deep's leadership and our shared sense of community added to the sense that this was an internal team joined with shared values, including compassion and growth mindset. 

I felt I had all the benefits of a strong internal team, without the onboarding, trial and error and challenges in building my own! The team clearly has a strong foundation of collaboration and excellence. We have our product, and I know they are there to provide continued support, but I'll miss working with these great people.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Intuitio Labs could have done differently?

I will need to build out the SOPS and process map more, and I think some feature sets and were reviewed with me extremely well, and others less so. So connecting the dots to the product and the operations is an area I feel less clarity around. They also were generous in staying in budget while I know going the extra mile. So I'm going to try to figure it out on my end, and if I do have questions, I know they'll be there.

They made efforts to ensure timely responses to any and all inquiries - in fact, they were available 24/7. I look forward to working with them again.

Our MVP app was built for iOS only. We originally hired a small team from Intutio Labs to quickly build the android version. They went with react native and we had an android app out in the market in under 3 months. We were please so we kept them on to build iOS in react native and expanded the team to both support our apps and web portals and work on new feature and optimizations,

How did you select Intuitio Labs and what were the deciding factors?

I worked with Intuitio Labs at my previous company and was pleased with the work and flexibility. They think beyond the requests and ask smart questions to arrive at efficient solutions. When I arrived at Ikonik and needed to hire a team, the decision simple.

Our tech stack is Ruby, Postgres, React JS and React Native for our apps. Project 1 Key Deliverable: Android App (iOS existed) Scope: Replicate the existing iOS app in React Native for Android as well as integrate a few additional features. Project 2 / Key Deliverable: iOS app in React Native Project 3: eCommerce Store Scope: Create an eCommerce store to sell eTraining programs to golf coaches and students.

Create the backend to create and manage the eTraining programs (Ruby, React) and integrate the stores into the coach and student web portals (react, Stripe, API development) Project 4 / Cross-platform in-app Video Chat Scope: Leverage a 3rd party video chat provider (Agora) to all device-agnostic in-app chat. The team identified and integrated Agora's SDK to achieve this goal. The implementation also required them to use some native libraries in addition react-native solutions. We have ongoing projects but I wanted to highlight the significant ones.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team takes pride in their work and their deliverables are of high quality. Even during the QA process, the team has come back with UI suggestions for a better user experience.

We used Asana for general project managment and to track the tasks. For larger projects and whenever requested, timelines were provided. We have stand-up 2x per week where QA runs me through progress. the team is very communicative and we use Slack and Zoom. Even though the team is in India, half of the team works a later shift and is available until 2pm my time. This is incredibly helpful.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We are a start-up and I am the only person working in product and technology. Often I am not able to give the full, detailed requirements that would be ideal. The team does not let this stop them and comes back with solutions for me to react to rather than waiting for the full requirements. More often than not, they are very close to what I envisioned. I find this particularly impressive.

Honestly, they are extremely flexible and adaptable so and requests I had were met.

TuneCore is a technology distribution company for independent musicians. I’m the product director for TuneCore Social.

What challenge were you trying to address with Intuitio Labs?

They were engaged to build out the technology for TuneCore Social.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Intuitio Labs was responsible for working on the front- and backend development and database development of multiple modules that made up our product. Our product was rebuilt from the ground up, so they worked on web, mobile web, and native mobile for iOS and Android. The team also did a lot of investigation and research work. 

What is the team composition?

There were 23 people we worked with.

How did you come to work with Intuitio Labs?

When my company was looking for an outside developer for our product, my boss, who was the head of the product recommended Deep for the engagement.

Deep (Founder & CEO) is also a friend of mine, and we worked together at another company where he was the CEO and I was the product director. Through that, our relationship developed, as well as our respect for each other’s work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2019, and we continue to collaborate.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They delivered on time and the efficacy of the code they wrote was impressive. Intuitio Labs also had the ability to integrate the code into our internal technology, and they were good at working with our internal developers. Moreover, the team completed the assigned tasks within our budget. 

How did Intuitio Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of communication, they went above and beyond to provide great service to us. In the past, when I worked with outsourced developers, they only followed the instructions based on the tickets provided on JIRA. As soon as they completed the tickets, that was it. 

Meanwhile, for Intuitio Labs, it was very different because they did everything for us — simply put, they were thinking developers. The team looked at my requests and was always very happy with the tasks given to them. However, if they found a better way to do things, they’d propose it. As such, we didn’t run down rabbit holes around requirements that could be accomplished more efficiently. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were all very pleasant to work with, and communication protocols were set up to ensure that information and deliverables were completed. That made the process seamless.

I’d work with Intuitio Labs again, and I’d recommend them to anybody who’s looking for a development team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know what they could improve since they did exactly what they were engaged to do. Sometimes, there was friction between internal and external development staff, but whenever those arose, the team handled it with grace. Overall, I’d have no suggestions for changes on how they worked or accomplished their tasks. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be mindful and know that there are human beings on the other side of the partnership, and they’re not robots. Intuitio Labs are "thinking people" who’ll be invested in your project if you allow them to do so. Above all, communication is the key to a successful engagement. When you have that, you’ll get the best from them.
