The entire team at IntellRocket was responsive and always able to assist us with whatever we needed.

Our main service agreement was for website improvements, performance, security optimization, and ongoing maintenance. Regular weekly updates were part of the routine, especially after we experienced issues with a previous vendor who hadn't been maintaining the site properly, or not at all. We had a lot of catching up to do, including updating many plug-ins, uninstalling many unused plug-ins, patching a few things, but IntellRocket had everything stable and running smoothly after the initial issues were resolved.

They also assisted us with many ad-hoc jobs that came up due to compatability issues which occurred due to our in-house IT team's lack of experience and knowledge with the website design and back-end PHP code.

IntellRocket's expertise filled the gaps our IT team couldn't handle.

Nothing that is their fault, but because we are in Hong Kong, we would prefer a vendor closer to our time zone.

The scope of work involved research based on our industry, web technology stack that fitted ICC's needs and competitive landscape. There was a design phase, development phase, technical SEO and performance optimization, testing and post launch maintenence to ensure any issues were resolved quickly.

Total redesign of the website brough the branding of ICC up-to-date. The structure of the design was mobile first. The technology stack installed increased the performance of the site to pass Google web vitals. The elimination of dated plugins reduced security risks.

Yes, IntellRock total kept up with all phases of the project. We met every week and they pushed us to get things done. I really like their effort.

IntellRocket is very itelligent. They know what they are doing. If you're looking for a good mechanic, they are the ones you want working on your car. They don't lie. They give you the best recommendations. It is a good investment if you have a project that you know will bring you a good return.

Are there any areas for improvement or something IntellRocket could have done differently?

Not really. They kept me on my toes and guided us in the right direction. They supported us all the way through the project and gave us post-reports and maintenance support to ensure everything went smoothly. Best of all, I did not see any SEO dip during the launch, so web traffic was maintained.

BBG went into this project knowing that it was an incredibly complex ask with a history of tangled technology. BBG has worked with IntellRocket on a few projects and knew that they could achieve performant, accessible, SEO-optimized, complex web projects.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Time, money, quality is always the give and take with any creative and technical project. The joke is pick two of the three, however working with IR we needed to achieve goals for a specific level of quality pre-determined early in the project.

IR has always been responsive to every question, request, unknown that we have brought their way so we knew we were in good hands time-wise. With their knowledge (quality) and ability to deliver (time), money only matters if we do not adhere to our budgets, which we have adhered to so far.

A project manager was always on the project from day 1 through launch. We have direct daily contact between owners to ensure success.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The most important goals set out for success with this project were SEO optimization, maintaining or improving upon load time and page speed, accessibility and technology stack clean-up. To date we have a 97% on Google Page Speed metrics, so we are doing really well.

Daily communication. Managed milestones on both ends. Check-ins using Zoom. Chat connections via Slack. Project Management and QA using Asana.

IntellRocket always seems to impress me. Their process is very similar to ours, which instantly creates synergy between team members to be their best, knowing that work is getting done on time and within budget. IntellRocket is willing to go the extra mile to meet our goals, which is important in a partner.

IR is our go-to. We will continue to work with them. Collectively we learn from our projects and will continue to improve together.

We worked closely with the team at IntellRocket on the Discovery section of the process - we told them exactly what we were looking for and gave examples of similar websites that we liked the design of. They came back with a number of design concepts and we fell in love with one of them. We worked closely with the team throughout the project and were free to make edits and alternations as the project progressed.

Everyone that has seen our new website has commented on how clean and modern the design is. The feedback that we've had is that it's now much easier to know what we offer and to have users get in touch for more information.

The workflow between our teams couldn't have been easier - we worked together very well and they were incredibly responsive to any questions we had throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very quick to make any edits or updates and we were kept updated at every stage throughout the process. We always felt like we knew exactly what they were currently working on and when we should expect the next update. It made the whole process very enjoyable and stress-free.

Nothing - it was a great experience and we would highly recommend IntellRocket to anyone looking for a similar project to be completed in a timely and professional fashion.

I’m the CMO at reTyre.

What challenge were you trying to address with IntellRocket?

When I joined the company, we only had a one-page website, and we wanted to add more functionality to it, including e-commerce, content, and lead generation capabilities. We started building it with IntellRocket.

On top of that, we had a new invention, which was modular bicycle tires or tires with zippers. We couldn’t copy what was already on the market, so our challenge was communicating what we had so that people could understand this new product and concept. We needed to present something that people never experienced before. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We built the website from scratch. At that time, we didn’t have any content, so we collaborated with IntellRocket. We didn’t know what we wanted, but they helped us define and explain our product, technology, and company. IntellRocket gave us examples of what would be good to have online. They then researched and proposed ideas to help us make our brand look better and bigger. Their team also created icons, graphs, and designs that we could use later on in documents and brochures. 

IntellRocket also wrote a few blogs for us, but the topics were very specific. We couldn’t use outsourced services too much in writing because we needed somebody in-house who understood our technology to write about it. Apart from that, they worked on our SEO efforts when we were launching the site. Mostly, they worked on their own since there were only five of us at reTyre. When we had more people, we took over the SEO tasks and started working more on our product pages.

At present, they still work on speed optimization and technical SEO tasks. We also use them for specific campaigns, and they develop additional website pages from time to time. For now, they’re more like our remote website development team. 

What is the team composition?

I mainly work with one designer, and I often communicate with their owner. A backend developer works with us from time to time. When we have questions or need to elaborate on things, we talk to other team members. 

How did you come to work with IntellRocket?

I found IntellRocket when I was working for a different company. I was originally from Serbia, so I knew that we could find a high-quality company there for an inexpensive price. At that time, we had some hiccups with our local agency, so we started working with IntellRocket. They delivered, and my former company continued working with them even after I left. When this project with reTyre came up, I brought them in. 

How much have you invested with them?

Our yearly budget for their services is around $40,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We officially started the project in March 2019, and the engagement is ongoing. The website launch is done, but we have an active maintenance contract with IntellRocket.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve had a 216%–300% increase in revenue. We’ve noticed an increase in brand awareness, and we’ve started gaining more consumers as well. On top of that, we have nice lead inputs; even when we’re not running any campaigns because we’re out of stock, we still see around 500 organic leads a month. Moreover, we’re happy with the product pages, which have been the last pages that we’ve developed. 

The website has also helped us build a strong brand. As an example, an intern thought that we were a massive company because of the website. He also thought that we owned the whole office building. 

Overall, IntellRocket is excellent — that’s why we keep using them. 

How did IntellRocket perform from a project management standpoint?

IntellRocket meets their deadlines; our team doesn’t. The project has been postponed before because we’ve failed to meet the deadlines we set. As a result, we usually stick to IntellRocket’s timeframes. In relation to that, I appreciate that they’re not pushy when it comes to deadlines. 

They use Trello for their internal processes, but we need to communicate better so we’re using Monday, which they've adapted to. They have a ticketing support system, but I prefer talking to their owner via Skype and email. We also use Zoom and Google Meet. Overall, they use our tools; whenever we say we want to use certain tools, they adapt to it, and that’s important to us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication and ability to determine our needs are impressive. Apart from those, we like that they transfer everything related to the website to our team so that we can use it however we want. By contrast, other agencies have a lock-in issue where we’ve had to keep using their services for the website, so we can’t work on our own.

IntellRocket isn’t like that; they don’t try to lock us in, and they listen to our needs and what we want to do. They’ve even built a HubSpot template for us to build landing pages on our own. Moreover, they tell us what’s better for the website from an optimization or conversion standpoint. If we still want them to do things our way, they’ll do it. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

IntellRocket can be stricter in making sure that we adhere to deadlines. We like that they’re not pushy when it comes to timelines, but it’s also not a good thing at times. They must find the right balance in that regard. That being said, this isn’t a negative criticism; this is more of an internal remark for them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Figure out what helps your processes. Know what you want to have but not necessarily how you want it delivered. You should define what you want, give ideas and examples, and have a clear vision of your goal. That’s how you can work fast. From there, you can collaborate better. 

In my experience, our problems as a company have always started with us not having a vision. As such, we’ve taken longer to finish projects. Overall, if you start with ideas but you don’t know what you want, then your engagement will be a long process.

They’ve taken over all the technical aspects so I don’t have to think about it anymore. They work on the WordPress sites and make sure that they're up to date, along with any plug-ins. Any ideas that I come up with and want to implement, they implement them. They take care of the security aspect of the sites and make sure there aren’t any bugs. They’re integrating new payment methods onto my websites, such as a credit card processor, and working on speed and content optimization as well.

One of my website’s turnover has increased by almost 300% and another one by almost 900%. Just my enabling a credit card processor, they doubled or tripled my revenue. They cut my website speed down by about 85%.

Everything is good. We mainly use Trello to stay organized and communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve worked with developers before and there’s always a delay; IntellRocket is available all the time. They tell me a task is going to take a certain number of days and I don’t even need to check on them. They’ve saved me so much time so that I can focus on my business and my customers; for a small business owner, that’s huge.

A lot of small fixes they just do for free. I feel like I have an extra team member that I can turn to whenever I have problems. They share their insights and let me know about tools that could help sales. For example, they recommended a new email marketing system for abandoned carts that has increased my turnover.

First, the design team worked closely with us to create 2 proposals for the new website and through a great presentation with pros and cons we were able to decide on a design. Then a design was created for each page where all our needs were covered.
We also worked very closely together in the development process and a weekly exchange was planned. This enabled us to react quickly to the development or to changes and problems, but also to answer open questions quickly. We were also supported after the roll-out and any bugs were quickly resolved.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our most important goals in this project were to optimize the page speed in order to offer our customers better performance and to have a very good mobile-optimized site. In the Google Page Speed evaluation, the value for mobile should not be below 90%. This positive result helped us to rank better in SEO and reduce costs in SEA.

IntellRocket delivered the work on time and always endeavored to meet this deadline. During the project, we made adjustments and additional requests that delayed the project by a few weeks. IntellRocket responded very professionally to our new needs and helped us find a solution.
