I’m the CEO of a medical device startup. We’re producing a patented 510(K) FDA-cleared medical device to help patients with severe respiratory ailments.

What challenge were you trying to address with INMIND?

We hired INMIND to develop an app for the touchscreen remote control that operates our device.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our device has bands that go around the patient’s torso and have motors. Each motor has a controller, and we have a control box that has the master controller. We also have a remote touchscreen controller for the patients. On it, patients can dial in customized settings for the device according to their doctor’s prescription.

INMIND has helped us develop the app behind said remote controller. Therefore, their work has included both custom software development and app development; it’s a mixture of both.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked directly with Omar (Co-Founder & CEO) and Julio (Co-Founder, Director & CTO). I know that some members of my team have also worked with INMIND’s developers directly, but I don’t know how large the team assigned to the project has been.

How did you come to work with INMIND?

INMIND came to us as a referral. One of our engineers had worked with them on another project, and he recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2019. Although the original project for which we hired INMIND has already been completed, we’ve kept coming back to them to make small adjustments. Moreover, we plan to keep working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

INMIND has hit every KPI that we’ve set. Their team has been able to deliver on pretty exact, functional, and technical specifications.

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

INMIND has completed their work on time and on budget, offering a reasonable price. Actually, since I’ve seen the quality of their work, I’ve been sure that INMIND is very reasonably priced.

INMIND has worked well with our in-house software team, using standard collaboration tools like email, phone, Zoom, Dropbox, Jira, and Bitbucket. Both teams have meshed well and have been able to understand one another.

What did you find most impressive about them?

INMIND’s professionalism and work quality have been impressive, so I would give them perfect ratings on both. Overall, INMIND is fabulous; I’m eager to work with them again.

Are there any areas they could improve?

INMIND has been one of the few freelance groups we’ve worked with of which I can’t say something negative about. Any time we’ve had an issue, we’ve been able to work through it. They’ve also been on top of everything and moved heaven and earth to get things done.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with them; don’t be indecisive and take the leap. INMIND will deliver exactly what they promise on time, on budget, and very professionally.

What was the scope of their involvement?

INMIND was involved in all facets of our project. They defined high-level requirements which included project cost estimates. The team skinned the wireframes in Figma so that the developer could then implement the solution. They delivered three or four iOS and Android apps for us well as web development which included Web3 blockchain expertise.

What is the team composition? 

The size of the team ranged with each project. At one point, it was one developer dedicated to a specific application. Another time, we had 4-5 full-time developers. They provided a lead architect, designers, and developers. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Juan (Co-Founder) and Omar (Co-Founder/CEO) have always been collaborative and really tried to understand how to solve the problem. I always felt I could trust them. Omar is more on the architectural and sales side and Juan is more on project and program delivery. Juan was the acting project manager.

My CEO developed a relationship with INMIND and introduced our team to their leadership.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost $150,000-$200,000.

We worked together between October 2018, and the collaboration is ongoing.

We were able to launch a number of products with INMIND. They provided a lot of value to our business by getting working products out into the market. 

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very smart when it comes to project management. The INMIND team is very flexible and transparent. They use Trello. I really liked that Juan would push back and say no which showed me he was protecting the team and the project's success. It’s the reason why I trusted to bring them into my current company as well.

They're very effective at project management. Their project manager’s technical awareness was impressive. They're very proactive and think about the end-to-end impact of requirements and requirement changes.

We had a legacy ecommerce progressive web app built in Ruby. We needed that app resurrected and integrated with a new payment solution offered by our strategic partner.

INMIND was recommended by another company in our ecosystem. After discussions with the CEO, we were convinced that INMIND has the background, skills and experience in Ruby, systems integration, etc. to take on the project.

We were able to bring the project successfully to Closed Beta testing.

The INMIND team is responsive, they listen well, and almost intuitively sense what is needed at each step of the way. They're fast and thorough, with great attention to detail and the whole picture. They're a pleasure to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I'm impressed with their ability to grasp the whole project and implement a plan that leads to success. INMIND also responds brilliantly to issues and challenges in the development process and collaborated expertly with our strategic partner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were one or two areas in their reporting of work accomplished (for purposes of billing) that were not present at first. After consulting with their team, they quickly implemented the improved reporting structure.

We needed developers to build the app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial consultation and discovery phase with INMIND. There was a back-and-forth iteration with them, and then we went through a beta testing phase before launching the app. The delivered product was a multiplatform application from scratch. Users can upload documentation and photos of themselves, request and receive information from other businesses, and connect with other companies through a generated QR code that links you to their general information.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four different people throughout the project; a project manager, a designer, and developers.

How did you come to work with INMIND?

I did extensive research on developing companies. When I met INMIND, their expertise, customer service, knowledge of technology, and competence stood out above the rest. They were also budget-friendly, so it was an obvious choice for us.

We spent around $30,000 with them.

We worked together from November 2020–June 2021.

Their work was top-notch — they handle a proper process, and everything they do is entirely professional.

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. INMIND was on top of everything and kept direct communication with me always. It was a responsive process where they understood all my requirements, and that reflected in their work. In terms of communication, we used email and video chat via Google Hangouts.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service, quality of work, and pricing are what stood out to me the most.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they were perfect.

Stop considering other providers and go with INMIND; they do the best job promptly.

I am the Director of Web development at a cloud services company. We build managed EDI, API integration, and web driven solutions that power business for leading companies across the globe.

For what projects/services did your company hire INMIND, and what were your goals?

We needed to integrate a mobile component within an existing enterprise web application. We wanted a simple, intuitive mobile interface that supported highly complex form processing.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We connected to InMind and Omar via upwork initially. We choose them because they were a great fit. They really listened to us and understood what we were requesting and the challenges inherent in the integration and could provide the expertise we required. We felt we would work well with Omar and his group.

We provided wireframes and screen flow information. We were developing the backend JSON api for the existing database while they were working on the mobile application so development speed was driven by our progress. This required frequent communication via Slack and Teams. We requested React Native and required use of Google mapping and geolocation APIs.



The real challenge of the project was integration with our existing form templating. Forms are dynamically built and template driven. Every form is customized for every customer however the logic that creates the form is generic. Forms also change uniquely based upon user choices. This was highly complex and required effective communication and collaboration and rounds of review and testing before launch.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our primary contact was Juan, our team lead throughout the project. We had two primary developers throughout the project. Omar touched base with us on overall progress.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The application was launched and we have not had a single issue. It has been well received by users and has received only positive feedback. We are currently planning phase 2 and 3 expansions.

Our Team Lead Juan was great to work with. Our project had an atypical and demanding work flow. This required consistent, effective communication via Slack, Teams, Google Docs, and various process schemas via LucidSparc. Their team always stayed on top of deliverables and progress.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really understood our project and deliverables. They recreated a complex form system in a mobile environment. They got us, our project and our concerns. They delivered a great quality result. We felt they were partners in our process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I believe more on our side than theirs. We need to have our project pieces completed before they begin theirs for the most efficient development flow.

I am a co-founder and CEO of Disruptive Force LLC. We merge technology with exercise equipment. Our flagship product is Axon™, a portable, programmable fitness tool that measures the force users apply while they work out.

For what projects/services did your company hire INMIND?

We had developed a mobile app for Android, but it was very much a prototype and not suitable for most, non-tech-savvy customers to use. We hired INMIND to build a simple, clean, intuitive iOS app that would interface with Axon™, both to receive and plot rep data in real time and to allow customers to define a rep and download it to Axon™.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a simple, clean, intuitive iOS app that would interface with Axon™, both to receive and plot rep data in real time and to allow customers to define a rep and download it to Axon™. And, of course, the app had to be accepted into the app store so our customers could download it.

SOLUTION

How did you select INMIND?

The INMIND team originally found us several years ago when we launched a Kickstarter (which we eventually canceled). The INMIND team kept in touch with us for all of the intervening years, which we really appreciated.

When we decided to go ahead and kick off an app, we requested proposals from a few vendors, including INMIND. INMIND's proposal was thorough and thoughtful, and the pricing was also reasonable for what we wanted and needed.

Given the quality of the proposal, our review of INMIND's work, and the fact that INMIND had kept in touch and remained patient with us, choosing INMIND was a no-brainer.

Describe the project in detail.

During the request for proposal stage, we had sent an overview and very basic wireframe suggestions. When we kicked off the project, INMIND already had some idea of what we wanted. We had a productive kick-off meeting during which INMIND showed us what they had in mind and asking for feedback.

We then sent additional technical information (e.g., about the API) and assets (e.g., logos, photos of the product, etc.), and an Axon™ so INMIND could test the app's functionality. INMIND set us up with beta access so we could test when the app was ready.

After a couple of rounds of feedback (most of which was minimal and the result of actually using the app with Axon™ rather than thinking about using the app with Axon™), we approved AxonFit™ and the INMIND team turned to getting app store approval, mostly without much help from us (other than account setup, etc.).

Overall, it was a very smooth, easy process.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager, Julio, who was our exclusive point of contact. Omar, our account manager, handled the administrative end, such as invoicing, the development agreement, etc.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have only been selling Axon™ for less than a month, but so far we have had no complaints about AxonFit™. Our team has been using it extensively in testing, and because it allows for added functionality with Axon™, and we have not noticed any bugs or flaky behavior.

I have no idea how many people have downloaded it, but it is not an app that will be useful without an Axon™, so we did not expect huge numbers of downloads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was great. Julio was very responsive whenever we had questions or raised issues. We generally communicated via shared documents/folders, and we did not even think about the time zone difference. The hardest part was getting the Axon™ to Uruguay, but once that was done, INMIND just did the work without any drama.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Two things impressed us about INMIND. First, that they stuck with us for literally 4+ years while we developed the product that we are now selling. We are a very small company, and most app developers would not have given us the time of day. We really appreciated being treated as a valued potential customer.

Second, the entire process was just EASY. INMIND made a quality app for us that looks good and does what we need, and they did it without any drama or crises. They took care of things themselves and were communicative with us the right amount.

From the beginning, we felt confident that they were getting the job done, so we did not have to worry about the project. We also knew that they knew more than we did about app development, so we trusted them to get the job done, which they did.

They were also very patient in answering what I am sure were a bunch of questions that showed how naive we were/are regarding mobile apps!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly, I cannot think of any. It truly was a great experience to work with INMIND, and we intend to continue working with them on any enhancements we make to the app. Depending on how much traction we get with Axon™, we may decide also to do an Android app, in which case we will turn to INMIND again.

They contacted us a long time ago offering their services and after many possible projects we selected them for this one in particular. They have very good reviews and after checking on some of their references we understood that they were the right team.

This platform is composed by one mobile application for inspections and one Backoffice for scheduling and following up inspections. There is georeferentiation involved as well as offline capabilities. It’s a critical tool so it was designed to work on any conditions.

What was the team composition?

They had a UX designer , an Android developers and a full stack developer as well as a Project Manager. They gave us a unique contact point for everyday communications and worked perfectly.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We did a first stage or MVP where we validated the idea, we were changing completely our customer process so it was very important to make it as easy as possible and effective.

They also came here (NYC) to work along with the customer for the second stage that was done perfectly. The best outcome is that we are applying it and changing that process fully digitalizing our customer.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very good. Communication was easy to do, they also collaborated on understanding what was needed not just from technical perspective but also from business side.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are very flexible and respond lightning fast. They have excellent technical skills and they are always willing to explain and collaborate with the customer. They care about the project and the customer.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Hard to call it an improvement as they are in the normal range of always making improvements as we always are. Getting requirements that include everything is impossible. I would have liked to have more thought included in the development to include some things that when I saw it would be obvious to include.

It's a fine line so it should not be taken as negative. Just something to think about when writing requirement.

I am the president of Syneroid Technologies, our company base concerns are Identification, tracking, recovery and database animal management system.

We needed to create a prototype that will allow us to validate our strategy and also help to present to investors and potential customers.

They have a great history and very good references, we screened their knowledge and were very satisfied on how they know about technology but also their business support.

Describe the project in detail.

The prototype they built consist on a fully functional (reduced scope) mobile app, backend and back-office that allows to see your pet information by reading or scanning QR codes NFC tags. This supports emergency management (FEMA) First Responders and Municipalities in tracking, identifying and return to owner the pet/animal.

What was the team composition?

They had both iOS and Android developers, a designer, a fullstack developer and a Project Manager. Most of our interaction was through their Project Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Mainly the app. We went from creating a presentable demo for stakeholder presentation to a functional app with minimum functionality, we will scale up as we go.

Outstanding, they understood perfectly what was needed and integrated very well with our product management team, also they collaborated on what could be important for the business.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Responsiveness and responsibility. They are always ready to respond. They deliver with great quality and help us to focus more on our business.

It took a little more time to get all of our ideas and components together, but once that was done they moved quickly to create a very good product.
