• Production:- Production was executed smoothly despite delays on the client end.

The team was professional and coordinated with us who were tuned in remotely on a livestream. The footage was handed over within 24 hours after the shoot

The crew showed great patience and dexterity in finding solutions on the go due to unforseen delays. The quality was unnaffected eventhough they were pressed for time. Overall, it was a great experience working with them

Extremely smooth to say the least. No gaps or issues with communication. Being miles away we didn't have to worry as there was someone we could trust to deliver a great film.

We hired Indigo Productions this semester to provide livestreaming services for our May 2022 graduation ceremony. Offering a livestream for friends, family, and other supporters of our graduates was very important to us given that not all of them would be able to attend the ceremony in-person.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We worked with Indigo Productions last academic year for our fully virtual graduation -- they created a 30+ minute video that consisted of videos from our Dean, University President, students, and faculty. Our team was really satisfied with last year's final product, so we wanted to work with them again this academic year for our livestreaming project.

Indigo Productions first wanted to confirm what we wanted the livestream point-of-view to look like so that they can gauge how many cameras would be needed and ultimately offer a cost estimate. Afterwards, we discussed which livestreaming platform would be used (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) as well as relevant details to the platform, such as player name and static/holding slide.

We also had to solidify day-of logistics, which included live captioning, crew member names, set-up time at the venue, and which chairs to block off from audience members due to the camera setup. The duration of the livestream was a little over an hour and a half.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

Our team was primarily in contact with Ryan Johnston, who, along with Wesley Rumm, was on-site during the graduation ceremony. We also communicated with Max Rosen and Clementine Aymard. The feedback process was very easy--Ryan was great at adjusting aspects to our livestream in a timely manner, and in turn, he was likewise great in providing suggestions since our team is very new to offering livestreams.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our graduation ceremony livestream on our YouTube channel was viewed nearly 1,000 times!

As mentioned previously, it was very easy to work with Indigo Productions. Ryan was very responsive to feedback and responded to inquiries from us in a timely manner, despite the many other projects that he was working on during this busy season! He was also invaluable in answering questions from our live captioning vendor, given that we were unfamiliar with the technical terms, and he even did a test run with them on the day before the ceremony to ensure that we would not run into any issues with captioning.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Indigo Productions is one of the most responsive vendors I've ever worked with--not just in terms of turnaround time to answering inquiries from us, but making adjustments to any changes that we had!

No, it was great working with them!

Indigo's PM style was collaborative while keeping us on track - they are an absolute extension of our team. All deliverables met the timelines and we mainly communicated through online proofing tool and email

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They took the time to listen to our needs and review the personas carefully. It was a refreshing approach to other partners I have used in the past. Highly collaborative!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind....I hope to have the opportunity to go into a live shoot with them.

I’m the director of marketing at Camienne Financial. We’re a private wealth management firm under the umbrella of Northwestern Mutual.

What challenge were you trying to address with Indigo Productions?

We were looking to take advantage of a field video program under our umbrella organization that allowed us to put videos of our firm, our team, and the services that we provide on our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a couple of meetings virtually with Max (CEO) and the director, Michael. They had a video for another client on their site that we really liked the vibe of, so we said that we wanted to mimic it.

In terms of deliverables, our video is three minutes long and features the head of our firm, as well as one of our clients. The video is a snippet of what we provide to our clients and what the clients feel that we can provide.

My team had no experience with video production whatsoever, so after doing the footwork and setting up logistics, I let Indigo do everything, including scripting, lighting, and audio.

Our founder went over the script with Michael and Max, as we had strict guidelines from our umbrella organization that we had to abide by regarding what we could or couldn’t say. Indigo was fantastic in walking this line and still making the film engaging.

For the filming, we went to New York City for two days to shoot in lower Manhattan; our founder and client were there. Indigo set up all production, including connecting us with another videographer in New Hampshire, where we’re located, to shoot some more film. They handled post-production as well.

What is the team composition?

Max was our first contact, and then Michael, in addition to three other crew members on site in New York. Our New Hampshire team was just the videographer. Finally, post-production was handled by 2–3 people.

How did you come to work with Indigo Productions?

All the firms that our umbrella organization suggested felt very cookie-cutter in their approach, so we did our own research. Indigo’s videos resonated with us for their high energy and engaging tone. They didn’t give off the vibe of a typical financial institution, which is exactly what we wanted. Our goal was to differentiate ourselves.

We worked together with them from August 2021 until December of the same year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I hadn’t worked with video production teams before, but Indigo Productions’ people were able to take our uneducated wants and needs refine them into something that was actually possible. The result was beyond anything we imagined.

How did Indigo Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

They were completely flawless. The only issues came from our side or from our home office. Indigo was in stride with us every step of the way. Everything was on time as promised thanks to communication over phone calls, Zoom, emails, and text.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were incredibly friendly, which made the process not intimidating in the least. While we were rookies, Indigo’s team never made it feel that way. They were completely professional and insightful and worked with unmatched quality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since everything was top-notch from start to finish, they couldn’t have done anything better.

Hire them — It’s simple. If you’re looking to get your brand awareness up and make yourself more visible, then you can’t do any better than Indigo.

They were beyond prompt at meeting deadlines; sometimes they even kept me on my toes. The team was always ahead of schedule because of their amazing planning. Production normally takes a lot of time. Indigo Productions was ready to get this project done quickly while still delivering high-quality work. It was a smooth process and the end result is gorgeous.

My advice is to approach them with the full plan of what you want to do. Also, have a realistic budget prepared and try to understand all that it takes to accomplish your desired end product beforehand.

We wanted to make a new welcome video for a specific version of one of our products.

They created our entire welcome video, including voiceover and animation. We provided the visual direction and script that we wanted and they produced the final product. It was one minute and 48 seconds.

We had one main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Indigo Productions?

I had a manager that worked with them at another position. We got a few quotes but we liked their quotes and the quality of their work. They’re always the first vendor that comes to mind when we need a video done.

We started working together in October 2020, and we wrapped up in November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve never dropped the ball on a project with us. All of the internal stakeholders were pleased with the final product. They always make something beautiful with the visual direction we give them. The integration of our cover art, for example, with the internal pages and other student artwork we have is super clean and professional. They always do a great job.

How did Indigo Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Basecamp for project management. They also use Vimeo to send us drafts. It’s a nice software because you can leave time stamps, which are helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re always professional and timely. For this project, one external asset was late and they worked around the clock to make sure it was completed before Thanksgiving. The level of work they do for us is exceptional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to at least check them out. Have a conversation with them and get a quote. You’ll find they do great work, even from afar.

We’re a middle-market private equity firm, meaning we invest in smaller sized businesses with $150 million–$200 million in revenue per year. My role within the organization is on the investor relations side, so I’m responsible for maintaining relationships with our existing investors and prospecting for new relationships.

What challenge were you trying to address with Indigo Productions?

This project was an effort to connect with our investors in light of the environment where we couldn’t actually see them in person given the 2020 circumstances. 

We typically hosted events for our clients where they all fly in from their various locations to New York. The business challenge was that it’s not appropriate to have everyone gathered in person. 

We wanted to host an event that would provide our clients with the information they needed and account for everyone spending a lot of time on their screens. 

We also had to navigate around the fact that the full length of our meetings in person is typically over a few hours. Over screen, we didn’t think attention spans would last that long.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed video production services for the events. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with approximately eight team members. 

How did you come to work with Indigo Productions?

I came across Indigo Productions via Google. I admittedly have very little background in production firms, so I was literally just looking and trying to source any kind of solution for us. 

Initially, we weren’t even sure we needed to use a production company. Our company was looking at various conference platforms, but we quickly realized we needed Indigo's expertise relating to the production and editing process. That wasn’t something we could replicate on any level with our team in place. 

We were impressed by the fact that the firm has been around for some time. Many other solutions for virtual events seemed to grow exponentially this year or come into existence over the past few months. However, we wanted to use an established firm. That was the first point. 

We also looked at their existing client base, and there are a lot of other financial institutions, the State Department, and the UN. That client base and their respective references were impressive to us. 

Thirdly, Max (President & CEO) was friendly and able to position the solution we were looking for. 

As we were evaluating final choices, it wasn’t even like a coin toss. It was apparent that Indigo was the frontrunner when we made our decision.

We spent around $25,000–$27,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our canvassing in September 2020, and then we concluded the project in early November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measured success in two ways. The first was the amount of engagement we had in terms of who joined our virtual meetings. We had a lot of attendance on that front. The second one is the specific feedback we got from our attendees.  

We got commentaries that our presentation was efficient, professional, and polished. These commentaries gave us a lot of confidence that the project was quite successful. 

Thirdly, we have submitted a survey for more pointed feedback, and everything we’ve received thus far has been extremely positive. 

How did Indigo Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

The team helped address our business challenge and, on a creative basis, working with our team, who had never worked with a film production crew before. Indigo was incredibly helpful on both fronts. They were incredibly user-friendly as I was working through the project after the filming had taken place.  

They were extremely responsive and helpful, especially as it related to editing. Many team members were involved in various steps to that process. Project management and communication were extremely seamless. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The individual that comes to mind is Ryan (Production Specialist). He helped our team with the final Zoom setup. He was as calm as he could be. From our team’s perspective and this all being new, it was a totally different experience. 

Everyone was very patient, collaborative, calm, and easy to work with. They put our entire team at ease with the project. That really showed in terms of the final presentation and the feedback that we got. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know if this is just because of our newness to such productions, but we could have used a bit more transparency on the project's costs. 

We were trying to manage the cost of the project overall. From our perspective, we could have better understood various options. It felt as though we didn’t really understand the different things that we could add or subtract. 

Otherwise, we were in alignment in terms of what we were looking for, our overall budget, and what we were looking to deliver. A yardstick to have in place at the onset would have been helpful. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Going back to the previous point, potential customers should be asking for options, like a “nice-to-have” case and a “blow-it-out-of-the-park” case. Ask for different scenarios in terms of what’s available pricing-wise and understand how to flex up or flex down a project. Otherwise, they’re great. 

Have a clear vision and communication from potential clients and for what they want the project to look like; the team is good at executing whatever you want the project to be. As you would imagine, they need direction on that.

I am the director of the nonprofit organization and the client is the founder of our organization. When he embarks on different projects, I’m involved to oversee and partner with him.

They were tasked with producing an animated 30-second cartoon ad for our organization.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The commercial was to advertise a book. The book is a compilation of political satire cartooning that contains 52 artists, 22 of whom won the Pulitzer Prize for political satire cartoons.

The founder and I described to them what we were looking to do. We provided them with the book so the cartoon could reflect the essence of it and they took it from there to create the 30-second cartoon ad.

What is the team composition?

My contact was mainly with Max (CEO). I worked with him on approving content.

How did you come to work with Indigo Productions?

I read reviews online and I was looking at 3–4 different companies before narrowing it down to one. Indigo Productions was the company we chose while we were having the initial phone calls.

They were immediately responsive when communicating with us and helped shape the final idea that ultimately became the commercial.

The cost was around $70,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August—September 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

There really aren't metrics, but we did well with the sales of the book. Beyond that, the feedback that we got around the creative work was great.

The messaging and cartoon closely align and reflect the essence of the book itself. That's something that can go either way when you're taking a shot at satire, so that’s great.

It was repurposed for Cartoon Network, and we went through cable platforms through DirecTV. It appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and a number of other channels.

We had a lot of creatives in the industry also commend the work and had nothing but positive feedback.

How did Indigo Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

I would say they excelled at project management. The person I work for has very high expectations with turning things around, meeting deadlines, and creative work that can sometimes be a little bit challenging. However, they met their deadlines and delivered the product that we wanted.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They came in on time. The content was very creative and exceeded our expectations. They delivered what they said they would.

They're very attentive to including the client in the molding of the media and the finished product. I've worked with other companies where it's ignored even though you're the paying client and I appreciated that.

For example, when I asked for the voiceover on a draft to be redone with specific words and highlights to make it more effective, they had it done for me the next morning. They welcomed that kind of input. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could have done better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Look at the company's portfolio of past projects. It would help the company creatives get to the core of what they want to see and don't want to see in their own project.
