First we went through a discovery phase to share our branding materials and go over our goals. They quickly pick up what we need and came up with the plan and recommendations for our email marketing. Project management is good; we set our internal deadlines and communicate that to them. They’ve had quick turnaround times and are accommodating to our timelines. Regarding tools, we’ve used Wrike, ClickUp, and Microsoft Teams.

My day to day contact is with the production team lead. We also have an account manager I can contact about strategic items. Then there is an entire production team helping us create the content and get it scheduled and sent.

We've seen significant gains in the speed and turnaround times with which our campaigns are executed and performance has also increased.

Very effective. They are great about checking in and following up with us about the timing of campaigns, the content calendar, implications of certain decisions we make, etc. They are very responsive to email and communication via Slack.

Their speed and follow through. They are usually the ones asking me to get them what they need to create the next campaign. I rarely, if ever, have to chase them down.

There's always room for improvement and we are improving with every campaign. They're starting to bring me more and more ideas. It would be nice to be able to contact them by phone if needed, but they're so responsive, this hasn't really been a problem.

Amazing. I could not talk highly enough of Charlie and Adi. They are great communicators, they are extremely helpful, and they are so dedicated it's been such a benefit.

The people. Charlie and Adi are the most amazing people to work with and I am positive that they want our success just as much as we do. Their reporting skills are so well put together that it makes reading and understanding easy.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inbox Army, LLC helped us develop emails we could send to our customers after they receive their quotes and successfully turn over their name, email, and phone number through our website. The emails we’d send include giving them information about our product and giving them tips on how to get our product without a medical exam. 

We’d also tell them how prices go up about 8%–12% every year, to convince them to get their policy as soon as possible. Overall, our emails would start with being informative before progressing to a soft close and hard call to action to get our customers to purchase our products.

We worked with at least five people, including their sales manager and product specialist. We also had a brief conversation with Chris (Managing Partner).

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’d like to see our email open rates in the future since it would be too early to check their success now. Anecdotally, they were very easy to work with, and we were pretty satisfied with their performance.

How did Inbox Army, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They had good communication skills and an excellent project management process. We communicated through email and weekly Zoom calls. Our budget was already determined, so it was never an issue once we knew the scope. We also appreciated that once they completed a step in the process, they sent things for review.

They were thorough and knowledgeable, which enabled us to go where we needed to go.

No, they set expectations well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for email marketing specialists and interviewed 3. We decided on Inbox Army due to a combination of the service they provided and the pricing.

We are working with Inbox Army on an ongoing basis (started with a 6 month contract but plan to continue.) For Creative, we provide assets and references, and their creative team sends drafts that are easy to review and comment. Then we receive test sends which we can proof and confirm links and content are correct. Finally Inbox Army schedules the sends in SFMC and confirms for our final approval.

Two - a Certified SFMC Campaign Manager, and a SFMC Campaign Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within about a month, we had successfully transferred all email execution responsibilities to IA. That allowed our internal marketing managers to focus on strategy vs the technical execution (of which we are not experts). This allowed us to be more nimble in the types and quantity of emails sent, as well as implementing strategy suggestions from IA, ultimately growing sales this fall.

Communication and workflow has worked well. We primarily use Microsoft Teams for daily communication, routings, and approvals, and a shared online excel document for scheduling. Inbox Army was open to follow our preference and requests in these areas and did not require us to conform to a predefined workflow which was appealing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

When it comes to email marketing, it's guaranteed that they know they could do anything. We did not feel the pricing structure was "nickel & diming" us, but instead felt like the Inbox Army resources were members of our team, working together to achieve our goals.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have not yet gotten to this stage yet, but I am looking forward to auditing our process and hopeful that we can work together with Inbox Army to look for more efficiencies in our process. I suspect there are methods that we are simply "dealing with" for now which could be improved.

1. Refresh/update email code to ensure the templates would render correctly in customers' Inboxes;
2. Fix mobile rendering issues in the templates; and
3. Maintain code accessibility –we need to easily swap imagery and/or change content as needed.

We were impressed with Inbox Army from the very first phone call. Even on that initial call, it was evident they were engaged and took the time to understand our pain points and identify how they could help. They were honest, realistic, and transparent -- felt like a true partnership.

Plus, their technical knowledge of our email platform was reassuring for us to ensure our templates would work in production. Inbox Army's pricing was fair and competitive. We were also very pleased with their responsiveness.

We provided 8 email templates that needed the code reviewed and refreshed. Once those 8 templates were complete, we needed to create a matching set for our second brand. The final deliverable was a set of 16 optimized, branded templates. This project primarily involved email coding; however, they also assisted with design optimization on a few of the templates.

We worked with an account manager and several members of the production team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Finally, at long last, we have templates that don't require tweaking or guess-and-check fixes each time they are used! We have realized significant time efficiencies with the new templates. We are in the middle of an IP warming project, so we don't have performance metrics yet.

It was excellent. Our project manager was proactive and quick to respond throughout the entire project. They were flexible to our requests, fast to turnaround edits, and overall worked very efficiently.

Working with Inbox Army felt like working with members of our own team - they were accessible, responsive, personable, and overall a great partner for this project. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them again in the future. Overall, we were very pleased.
