We hired Inbox Army, LLC to help us with email marketing, in order to help us get back in touch with the clients that we spoke with.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Inbox Army, LLC helped us develop emails we could send to our customers after they receive their quotes and successfully turn over their name, email, and phone number through our website. The emails we’d send include giving them information about our product and giving them tips on how to get our product without a medical exam. 

We’d also tell them how prices go up about 8%–12% every year, to convince them to get their policy as soon as possible. Overall, our emails would start with being informative before progressing to a soft close and hard call to action to get our customers to purchase our products.

We worked with at least five people, including their sales manager and product specialist. We also had a brief conversation with Chris (Managing Partner).

We used Google to search for possible companies. In the end, we saw Inbox Army, LLC.

We spent $3,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our collaboration ran from November–December 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’d like to see our email open rates in the future since it would be too early to check their success now. Anecdotally, they were very easy to work with, and we were pretty satisfied with their performance.

How did Inbox Army, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They had good communication skills and an excellent project management process. We communicated through email and weekly Zoom calls. Our budget was already determined, so it was never an issue once we knew the scope. We also appreciated that once they completed a step in the process, they sent things for review.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were thorough and knowledgeable, which enabled us to go where we needed to go.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they set expectations well.

Be willing to reach out to discuss the scope of the project. In order to get your points across, you need to prepare what you want to say before you reach out to them. If you try to drag it out, Inbox Army, LLC has other clients and they can’t accommodate you if you don’t know what you want to do.

Inbox Army handles all creative, setup, and sends for email execution. They have also provided feedback and strategy advice for holiday marketing.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for email marketing specialists and interviewed 3. We decided on Inbox Army due to a combination of the service they provided and the pricing.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We are working with Inbox Army on an ongoing basis (started with a 6 month contract but plan to continue.) For Creative, we provide assets and references, and their creative team sends drafts that are easy to review and comment. Then we receive test sends which we can proof and confirm links and content are correct. Finally Inbox Army schedules the sends in SFMC and confirms for our final approval.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Two - a Certified SFMC Campaign Manager, and a SFMC Campaign Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within about a month, we had successfully transferred all email execution responsibilities to IA. That allowed our internal marketing managers to focus on strategy vs the technical execution (of which we are not experts). This allowed us to be more nimble in the types and quantity of emails sent, as well as implementing strategy suggestions from IA, ultimately growing sales this fall.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication and workflow has worked well. We primarily use Microsoft Teams for daily communication, routings, and approvals, and a shared online excel document for scheduling. Inbox Army was open to follow our preference and requests in these areas and did not require us to conform to a predefined workflow which was appealing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

When it comes to email marketing, it's guaranteed that they know they could do anything. We did not feel the pricing structure was "nickel & diming" us, but instead felt like the Inbox Army resources were members of our team, working together to achieve our goals.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have not yet gotten to this stage yet, but I am looking forward to auditing our process and hopeful that we can work together with Inbox Army to look for more efficiencies in our process. I suspect there are methods that we are simply "dealing with" for now which could be improved.

We hired Inbox Army to optimize a new set of email templates that would be utilized across two credit card brands. This project included several goals:

1. Refresh/update email code to ensure the templates would render correctly in customers' Inboxes;
2. Fix mobile rendering issues in the templates; and
3. Maintain code accessibility –we need to easily swap imagery and/or change content as needed.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were impressed with Inbox Army from the very first phone call. Even on that initial call, it was evident they were engaged and took the time to understand our pain points and identify how they could help. They were honest, realistic, and transparent -- felt like a true partnership.

Plus, their technical knowledge of our email platform was reassuring for us to ensure our templates would work in production. Inbox Army's pricing was fair and competitive. We were also very pleased with their responsiveness.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.

We provided 8 email templates that needed the code reviewed and refreshed. Once those 8 templates were complete, we needed to create a matching set for our second brand. The final deliverable was a set of 16 optimized, branded templates. This project primarily involved email coding; however, they also assisted with design optimization on a few of the templates.

We worked with an account manager and several members of the production team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Finally, at long last, we have templates that don't require tweaking or guess-and-check fixes each time they are used! We have realized significant time efficiencies with the new templates. We are in the middle of an IP warming project, so we don't have performance metrics yet.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was excellent. Our project manager was proactive and quick to respond throughout the entire project. They were flexible to our requests, fast to turnaround edits, and overall worked very efficiently.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with Inbox Army felt like working with members of our own team - they were accessible, responsive, personable, and overall a great partner for this project. We wouldn't hesitate to work with them again in the future. Overall, we were very pleased.

No, not really.

I searched through a number of forums and word of mouth on the web, and their name consistently came up. I did not find any negative reviews. They have been in business longer than any email marketing company that I can remember talking with.

Rebuilding a full email system for a mid-sized website. This includes all of the standard flows recommended, email acquisition, promotional campaigns, weekly newsletters, and any marketing ideas our team could come up with. from concept, to design, to coding, Chris and his team handles it all.

What was the team composition?

I worked with the director and his designers to develop the emails that would connect with our target market. Inbox Army managed me, I literally had to keep up with how fast they work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Immediate increase in revenues, our return customer conversion rate increased by roughly 50%, and our open to click rates all increased. The ROI was about 26 to 1 Zero complaints, our resources were not wasted hiring InBox Army.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective and efficient. Charlie and I communicated on a daily basis about the design of the emails on a daily basis.

I found Inbox Army through an online Google search. I decided to request a quote based on the impressive design work on client emails showcased on their website and their compatibility working with Constant Contact.

In order to move forward with the project, we had an initial call with Inbox Army to discuss the scope of work and what we could provide to get started. We then provided an outline of the content that we were including in the newsletter, a Dropbox link that contained our brand guidelines, photography, and design elements. We also provided Inbox Army with access to our ESP. We went back and forth a few time on the design options, but overall it was a really quick turnaround!

We worked with Chris, a managing partner due to his connection with our agency. We had a dedicated Account Manager, Dan and worked with the Inbox Army Production team as well.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

This newsletter design turned out better than we could have expected! Inbox Army turned around the project quickly and we hardly had any design edits that needed to be made from the first design presented. They then provided us with resources to customize the code and added it to our ESP for us. They were organized and provided us with the resources needed to edit the newsletter in the future. Our CEO absolutely loved the design and couldn't be more impressed with the work.

Extremely effective. Inbox Army is a very responsive team and we had a final call to discuss any questions we might have which was a nice touchpoint to end the project.

They create both custom design and coding templates. We don't have to hire different companies for each of them! That was a huge seller for me.

The Wildest is a content site aimed at helping pet parents succeed throughout their journey, from when they bring a new pet home, to everyday living, to senior pets etc. The Wildest is currently focused on dogs and cats only. Once logged in, users get access to additional features and tools such as a new pet parent checklist, nutrition calculator, dog training program, and the ability to ask a vet non-urgent questions and receive answers in 24 hours. We had an initial pilot launch on 4/19 which was aimed a new pet parents. We then did a full launch on 5/27 where it was opened up to the public and paid advertising was dialed up.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've gotten positive feedback on the quality of our emails and flow. The last open rate for the set of emails was roughly ~30%, which is above industry standard.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our timeline to set up emails was highly condensed. They take the time to understand our goals and implement triggered workflows for our new product. Since we were moving at a high speed, we didn't initially take the proper amount of time to set up preferred workflows. Since the initial batch of emails, both teams have continued to work to optimize a workflow and schedule that better suits both teams.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As mentioned, Hannan and his team were hyper focused on ensuring that the success of our email marketing campaigns. They were excellent in everything from setting up workflows to designing/coding emails to iterating with our developers to get the proper data needed for emails in place. Hannan went above and beyond to set up multiple calls with our dev team to get the right information to trigger emails and I was impressed with the initiative. We also switched ESPs midstream and the IA team took it in stride.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would have liked to see more ongoing management to improve email open rate as it relates to testing, resending non opens, copy tweaks, etc. We'd love more suggestions on testing versions of headlines/copy/images, etc. to see what resonates best with our audience. These updates are already in flight and the feedback has been shared with the team and received well.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Inbox Army has been working with us for almost a year now. Before Inbox Army, we did not have a regular cadence of email campaigns or automatic flows. With their help, we now schedule regular email campaigns and have both transactional and nurture-focused flows.

I work directly with Dan and Charlie. Dan and Charlie help communicate our ask to the production team, let us know of timing, and of any potential hurdles.

I was brought onto the team months after Inbox Army had already been our partner. We worked together to design ongoing email campaigns and they provided quarterly reports. Most recently, they were an integral piece in relaunching our automated Welcome Series – a four-part email flow.

The team worked with us through several review pieces and worked through all of our edits in a timely manner. I am so grateful that they are always ready and excited for the next project.

Dan and Charlie let us know ahead of time what the review cycle would look like and if the team would recommend a hard code or drop and go template. We also really appreciated their follow ups, when the review duty was on our end.

Because we’ve been able to get on steady cadence, our open rates are up and unsubscribe rates are down!

Our team provided Inbox Army with a written outline of our vision. Inbox Army took this outline and created a mockup, which we provided any edits, if any. Next, their team would code this design and let us know of any questions along the way. We went through another review cycle or two and their team helped schedule the campaign or flow for launch.

The entire InboxArmy team was always very friendly and quick to respond. They took feedback well and truly guided us in the right direction during the first few months when we were ramping up our email efforts.

However, as the months went on, we hoped to hear more strategy discussions from InboxArmy vs execution alone. Secondly, we asked the team to provide a video tutorial of the Eventbrite automation process/Countdown feature, but we did not receive this. As our team has grown over the last few months, we are not in dire need of template execution.

Managed to created targeted engaged segments which briskly set our pace for warming up the IP and allowed us to have a plan to tackle the transition ahead of schedule. Saw opens increase to upwards of 30% with 0 spam complaints.

Hannan and the production team are very fast to respond, even when we are bogged down and unable to get our templates out to them in a timely fashion they are able to turn each request around very quickly. Questions are answered almost immediately and show a well reasoned expertise in all manners of email marketing.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Knowledge across a variety of email marketing platforms as well as a very robust coding and email template design that was easily applied to our custom design. Seems that the team at Inbox Army can handle any request you send their way.

Occasional connection issues during meetings but not too common and did not affect workflow.

For SFMC, this included everything from HTML development and QA, deliverability testing, scheduling, and reporting. Similarly with Klaviyo with the additions of list segmentation and template building and QA.

What were your goals for this project?

We were down a headcount for email marketing and needed an agency who could slot in quickly to ensure the efficient design, development, and execution of a large number of emails. We also wanted an agency that could guide us through the onboarding of Klaviyo to ensure we were following best practices.

Email execution has been flawless. Even with Inbox Army starting right before the incredibly busy holiday season, they were able to accommodate all of our emails without any issues. Revenue generated from email marketing matched previous year's numbers, even in a challenged environment with 2020. Klaviyo onboarding has gone very smoothly and we wouldn't have been able to get ramped up without Inbox Army's help.

From weekly planning meetings to templated job sheets to consistent communication, the workflow has been efficient and productive.

For what projects/services did your company hire Inbox Army, LLC?

We hired Inbox Army to assist with weekly development and sends of our promotional emails through Salesforce Marketing Cloud as well as strategic planning and onboarding of Klaviyo.

For SFMC, this included everything from HTML development and QA, deliverability testing, scheduling, and reporting. Similarly with Klaviyo with the additions of list segmentation and template building and QA.

What were your goals for this project?

We were down a headcount for email marketing and needed an agency who could slot in quickly to ensure the efficient design, development, and execution of a large number of emails. We also wanted an agency that could guide us through the onboarding of Klaviyo to ensure we were following best practices.

Based on our requirements, we interviewed a number of agencies and selected Inbox Army because of their customer focused culture, their streamlined and efficient processes, and the willingness of everyone on their team all the way up to CEO to get on a call to discuss our goals and plans.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

See above for more info, Inbox Army basically was able to come in and take over the email marketing function of our department without skipping a beat. Their expertise and in-depth knowledge of SFMC as well as Klaviyo made it incredibly easy to entrust our emails to them. They immediately raised the maturity level of our email marketing.

What was the team composition?

Numerous roles from Inbox Army, from sales to the CEO, I really appreciated the personal touch. Once the agreement was signed, we were assigned a dedicated account manager and production team to handle our needs.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Email execution has been flawless. Even with Inbox Army starting right before the incredibly busy holiday season, they were able to accommodate all of our emails without any issues. Revenue generated from email marketing matched previous year's numbers, even in a challenged environment with 2020. Klaviyo onboarding has gone very smoothly and we wouldn't have been able to get ramped up without Inbox Army's help.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

From weekly planning meetings to templated job sheets to consistent communication, the workflow has been efficient and productive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

As mentioned previously, their customer service and support, attention to detail, and ability to execute efficiently are fantastic They run an incredibly well-oiled machine over there.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None that I can think of.

I manage CRM Marketing for a DtC ecommerce brand that sells silicone jewelry. I own email, SMS, referral, loyalty, and direct mail marketing.

To assist in campaign management, email design, and email coding. I am a one-person team currently and needed support on the email side.

What were your goals for this project?

Start running HTML emails, optimize current flows, add new flows, and increase overall program engagement and revenue. As of now, our campaigns are doing better and our Welcome Series has doubled in revenue.

How did you select Inbox Army, LLC?

I have worked with Inbox Army in the past and was very satisfied with their work. They're quick to respond and reasonably priced to help with the things I need. I was the sole decision maker for this need, and no other companies were considered as help was needed immediately.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

To redo all emails to make them on-brand and perform better across the board. The help is focused on email, but some of the stuff we receive can be used across other CRM channels. I provide strategy and context for each project as well as guidelines and sometimes creative direction. I then give feedback at the design phase. IA has managed multiple designs, reiterations, managing lists, and coding email templates. Our Welcome Series is representative of the great work they do.

What was the team composition?

I had my main point of contact on the Inbox Army team, someone who did design (not sure how many), and someone who did the coding.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our Welcome Series is a memorable one as it has doubled the revenue from our old Welcome Series. I can also speak to the speed at which they communicate and turn work around when it's a critical need. These have been so crucial to the success of some of our campaigns.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. I was the point of contact for the Enso side and Dan was the point of contact for Inbox Army. He was very communicative and responded to needs and questions quickly. Most communication was done through Slack, and we made design changes in InVision.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

How quickly they can turn projects around. Even when not in a time crunch, I'd get designs from the team more quickly than I expected.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are no areas of improvement that I can think of, maybe quicker turnaround for coding specifically, but that has rarely been an issue.
