We had this idea to build something much bigger than a regular GPS or travel app. The idea was to create an AI-based driving app that could help travelers during an entire road trip without needing multiple apps. 
Users can plan trips across different countries, book hotels and local experiences, get route suggestions, and hear location-based audio stories automatically while driving. The app also supports multiple languages, which is important for international travelers. 
One of the more unique features was that the app could understand user behavior during a trip. If someone skipped a stop, changed their route, drove longer than expected, or even lost internet connection, the app could still keep working through a complete offline mode. It would adjust routes, recommendations, and audio content based on what was happening during the trip, which made the experience feel much smoother. 
After going through a lot of proposals, we chose Idea Usher because their pricing was more reasonable and, more importantly, their team came very close to understanding the vision we had for the app. 
They ended up building both the mobile app and backend for us, along with the AI features and booking integrations. The app can track a user’s location, trigger the right audio at the right time, and work smoothly even during longer drives. 
They also built a backend dashboard where our team can upload new routes, update audio, and manage content on our own, which has saved us a lot of time since we don’t need developer support for every small change. 
One thing I will say is that a lot of this project came down to testing. There were quite a few iterations to get the timing and location accuracy right. Overall, it felt like they actually understood the problem we were trying to solve, which made a big difference.

For us, the biggest sign that things were working was during live testing. We had people driving in different routes and countries, and the app was able to trigger the right audio at the right time without people constantly touching their phones. 
The offline mode worked well too, which was important because many travel routes don’t have stable internet. We also liked how the AI recommendations started feeling more relevant based on how users were actually traveling. 
Another big win was on our side internally. Earlier, making route updates used to feel like a big task, but now our team can handle it quickly through the backend dashboard.

This project changed a lot during development because we kept adding ideas as we saw the product coming together. There were definitely moments where timelines moved because of that, but it never felt messy. They were pretty direct about what could be done immediately and what would take extra time. 
We had regular calls and meetings, but what I appreciated more was how quickly they reacted when something broke during testing. We did run into a few issues during route testing, mostly around GPS trigger timing, location accuracy, and how the audio responded when users changed routes unexpectedly. Their team kept testing different fixes and improvements until it worked much more reliably.

Sometimes we had to stop them and ask them to explain things in simpler terms. Their team clearly knew the technical side well, but not everyone on our side comes from a tech background, so a few conversations went deeper than we needed. 
It was not a huge issue though, and they were always open to slowing things down and explaining things better when needed.

They built an e-prescription system powered by a blockchain-based crypto algorithm. It allows doctors to use a secure crypto key to access long-term prescription histories. What really stood out was how they helped shape this into a global network, patients anywhere in the world can now consult doctors, get second opinions, diagnoses, and even compare cases with multiple specialists across countries.

I honestly just gave them a short two-line idea, that people should be able to talk to doctors easily from anywhere. Four weeks later, they came back with a complete plan, covering everything: tech stack, challenges, opportunities. They didn’t just take the idea and build something, they helped us shape the whole concept. Most companies don’t do that.

The app now tracks disease patterns globally, alerts pharma companies, and helps patients connect with others going through similar issues. We wanted to build something that was not just another karaoke app, we were thinking of social feeds, reactions, duets, live singing, followers, real-time audio syncing, everything. The goal was to make music creation feel fun, social, and super interactive, all on our mobile application.

Our project was not that simple. It needed real-time recording, high-quality audio playback, smooth UI/UX, and a backend that could actually handle people singing, uploading, reacting, and connecting in real time, without things crashing or sounding off.

Idea Usher took all of that and somehow turned it into a wonderful working product, just as we were imagining it. They didn’t just code what we asked for, they helped us figure out the flow, the experience, even the branding. They built everything from scratch: the mobile apps, backend, admin panel, and even helped guide us through licensing concerns around music and streaming. And they did all of this while keeping both Android and iOS in sync. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

When we launched the MVP, we were not expecting the kind of early traction we got. Over 5000 users joined in the first couple of months, with thousands of karaoke tracks uploaded, mostly from organic reach. That told us people were not just curious, they were having fun and sticking around the application.

What really stood out was how long people were staying in the app. Session times were higher than we expected, and users were actively exploring features, connecting, and engaging. And best of all, users kept telling us the audio syncing “works really well” which, for a karaoke app, is everything.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Project management was solid throughout the development process. We had weekly check-ins, and the team always kept us updated on progress. Our project manager was especially very helpful, she made sure we always knew what was happening and what to expect next.

Even when we had to change directions midway, the team stayed calm and adjusted without any complaints. If something went wrong or a tool caused problems, they took full ownership, fixed it quickly, and kept us updated. There was no blame game, just honest communication and fast action. It really felt like they were fully invested in the project and cared about getting it right.

Also, they were honest. No false promises, no fluff. But they still ended up overdelivering. It’s rare to find a tech partner who gets both the emotional and the technical side of what you are building.
