Idea Usher was engaged to develop a multi-tenant SaaS platform that serves as both a restaurant management system and a channel management solution. The platform is designed to help restaurants streamline their operations across dine-in and online channels.

Key modules include on-table ordering through QR codes, remote ordering for customers, a waiter app for order taking, a kitchen app for accepting and updating order status, and a manager app for overseeing daily operations. The system supports table and order management, invoicing and billing, as well as discount and promotion setup.

To ensure operational efficiency, the platform was integrated with third-party tools for accounting and inventory management. Additionally, a centralized channel management module allows restaurants to receive and manage orders from multiple delivery apps popular in Kenya, including Glovo, Jumia Food, and Uber Eats, all within a single interface.

Built as a scalable, cloud-based solution, the platform supports multiple restaurant branches under a single system, offering centralized control and seamless management.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Before launch, we did a beta test with 10 restaurants, and 8 of them converted to paying clients within a week. That was a big win for us. And after launch, we onboarded over 35 restaurants within the first few months, and the feedback has been very positive, especially around the speed and simplicity of the POS and dashboard tools.

Thanks to the system's automation features, restaurants using our software have been able to reduce manual work, tasks like order updates, kitchen instructions, and end-of-day reporting are now fully streamlined.

On the performance side, uptime has been really good, and the app continues to run smoothly even during peak hours. That stability has helped us retain customers and gain many referrals as well.

Project management is one of Idea Usher’s biggest strengths. Raghav was the project manager, and Vasu was the scrum master. We also had a project manager from our side working closely with them.

We were very particular about logging tickets on Jira, and the project was well-structured and broken down into clear sprints. That was really important since the launch happened in phases over a period of two years.

They managed the timeline well and were proactive in communicating whenever certain modules were going to take longer than expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were a bit concerned at first because it was a huge project with complex multi-tenant architecture, but Idea Usher’s strong technical skills quickly gave us confidence. Their project management was really solid, they were always responsive to our needs and had a good understanding of product development. What I liked most was that they didn’t wait to be told what to do, they took initiative and stayed ahead of any issues.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Idea Usher could have done differently?

One area that could be improved is the staging environment. At times, it wasn’t fully stable or in sync with the latest updates, which made testing a bit harder. Also, while there was some automation testing in place, it wasn’t very comprehensive. For a platform of this size, having more thorough automated tests would have helped speed up testing and reduce the chances of small issues slipping through.

I hired Idea Usher to build a weather forecasting app unlike anything available on the app store. The goal was to go beyond basic forecasts and let users actually visualize real-time weather conditions through 3D animations, weather tracking, environmental updates, etc.

From the start, they helped me plan every part of the app, from the design flow and feature list to the user journey and how we’d source and display weather data in real-time. They managed everything, including design, development, weather API integration, and deployment on both ios and android.

Animations and globe-trotting features were the most critical part of the app, and they did an amazing job. Even after launch, they continued to support with bug fixes and minor changes.

Frankly, I believe it is the best weather app out there. It has lots of interactive features, provides alerts, weather updates, environmental updates, disaster alerts and so much more. My concern was that so much data may be overwhelming for the user, but the design team did a fantastic job.

I worked with Namisha, and she was very easy to work with. I sometimes had calls with her that lasted several hours, during which we would brainstorm various ideas and review all the available APIs. They always kept me updated with everything that was happening on the project.

I really appreciated the dedication they showed throughout my project. At times, implementing a change took longer than expected, but I understood and didn’t mind.

The team handled app testing, bug fixing, and deployment for both Android and iOS, along with basic admin panel setup to help us manage the platform.

The app was successfully launched on both Android and iOS platforms. We've seen strong user engagement and retention since day one. They also added profile verification to keep users safe, along with in-app safety tools that can detect and report suspicious behavior. On the backend, they created a complete admin panel where we can manage users, check reports, and monitor activity.

Idea Usher has successfully created our MVP and quickly gotten it into the iOS App Store. Currently, the app has 300 downloads and a 4.8 rating. Overall, Idea Usher’s work has met our expectations. They have done great.

Idea Usher has delivered the work on time and on budget and communicated well with us. We communicate and collaborate using Figma, Slack, and monday.com. We also do Zoom meetings.

Goal was to design, develop and deploy an AI-based predictive maintenance solution to reduce unplanned downtime and improve production efficiency in the main manufacturing plant. It involved a thorough understanding of the critical machines and the manufacturing process. The created the complete project plan and mapped the sensors that were required for the input. They then connected sensors to IOT devices that streamed data to the cloud. 
The most critical part was creating and training the machine learning models for anomaly detection. Thereafter they even created a dashboard where our team can login and access all the data and the predictions.

The maintenance cost has gone down considerably, we get instant feedback when there are anomalies in the data. The time for identifying the problem and root cause analysis has also gone down drastically, We get real time visibility of all the machines and are also able to predict machine failures much better. 

Overall, it has led to a considerable increase in both plant and employee efficiency.

We really liked how they took time to understand our processes, especially keeping in mind that they come from an IT background. Their IOT engineer visited the plant several times and sat down with the mangers to identify the key problems and create the project blueprint. 
They had weekly meetings where they showcased the progress they had made. They also rigorously tested the system and ensured that optimum results were being achieved. The project was done in around 8 months, and I was pleasantly surprised.

The best part was that they took time to understand our manufacturing processes. They didn't hurry the entire process. They have provided constant support and even now if we need help with the dashboard, they are only a call away. They scheduled their engineer visit during weekdays which caused a little downtime during the development process, if it was done on a weekend or after hours, it would have been better.

For this we wanted to build a scalable and secure backend to support user accounts, content storage, real-time interactions, and blockchain transactions.
It also involved developing a decentralized marketplace for buying, selling virtual assets and a virtual real estate ecosytem with a complete social media built in the metaverse.

They have designed a complete virtual city with buildings, shopping mall, downtown area, and apartments in a span of one year. They have designed more tha 16 avatars and a complete blockchain based ecosystem where users can buy & sell virtual assets, and influencer nodes. 

What I really liked is that they took the time to understand my requirements and actively brainstormed with my team on ideas. They shared regular updates and builds which gave me confidence. I was very apprehensive about platform's security since it is built on blockchain and hence got all the smart contracts audited from external companies, and their work passed all the quality standards.

I would say project management is one of their strong suits. I worked with Tanya and she did daily calls with my team. They used Jira internally but our team used Monday, so they had to adopt a new tool for our project.

They were very responsive, and Tanya, along with Krish, found good solutions to all our technical problems. 

Yes, they were able to deliver on time, and we launched our complete platform in January this year.

I thought that I would have to hire different teams for different parts of the project, but their team handled development across multiple domains easily. They developed the virtual city in Unity 3D, integrated the blockchain, and developed the web platform. Now we are also introducing AI bots, and mobile apps, which are also being done by them.
