From a business standpoint, working with I-Tul we achieved:

• Working prototypes and two initial products at a very reasonable cost
• Successful test site implementation in a challenging environment
• Ability now to move to rapid product development team with offshore capabilities

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

1. When emergencies happened, somebody jumped in quickly and saw the problem through to the end quickly and correctly. Even on weekends. We were never left hanging. 
2. Their design work was very good and highly efficient. We never felt like I was paying too much for not enough design. Quite the opposite: their designs were clean and functional with good branding and UX, for a good price. 
3. Excellent human dynamics unlike other software teams. They were organized, accurate, and flexible. They never missed a go live date.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Having key talent in the IT infrastructure and software development all in one location so all the ITul personnel were well-aligned and knowledgeable about our project and its status. And the high-level project management assigned to our project which made a huge difference in planning and execution (never seen this done this well before)

Cannot list anything. We were well-pleased with I-Tul Design & Software, Inc.'s development work.

Corp2000 is a diligence corporate filing agent that processes and files corporate documents related to private equity, venture capital, real estate, and large commercial transactions. Our business operates nationwide with some international work.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with I-Tul Design & Software, Inc.?

When I first joined my role, I’d left a company that was working with some pretty sophisticated technologies into a paper-heavy industry that was antiquated. Our operations were so labor-intensive, so I wanted a partner who could find a way to streamline our processes by applying a digital solution. It’s a large, high-level system that’s geared specifically to us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

I-Tul has developed a custom workflow management system that facilitates our processing, management, and organization. The goal is to have something that’s cloud-based and scalable so that we can expand our business.

They’ve come up with a PHP solution that not only deals with internal workflows but also helps us keep track of and process our customer’s documents efficiently. On the backend, they’ve integrated automated billing capabilities by connecting the solution to QuickBooks and other software. 

We’ve done a lot of XML API connections, too, and the solution can even pull in data within specific jurisdictions to facilitate document processing. For example, if we’re filing a document in Louisiana, the system can walk the user through the process step by step. Finally, we can communicate to clients or vendors through the auto-attach feature on our orders.

I-Tul continues to tailor the solution to meet our needs and regularly maintain it.

What is the team composition? 

I deal with both Amanda (Founder) and Clint (President) on an ongoing basis. They’ve also designated a couple of developers for my project.

How did you come to work with I-Tul Design & Software, Inc.?

I found I-Tul through a referral from an employee who had a familial tie with them. They were able to fix problems that my previous tech company couldn’t solve, which set the groundwork for our relationship.

How much have you invested with them?

Over the years, it’s been at least $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with them since December 2017 and see no end in sight. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I appreciate that I-Tul had the foresight to create a cloud-based solution rather than a desktop application. With the new system, we’re able to scale our operations to really flourish. Our company now has offices running throughout the nation as individuals work remotely, and I’m even able to adapt to today’s challenges thanks to the solution.

There are too many efficiencies built within the system to list out. They’ve really pushed the envelope to integrate our accounting software, automating nearly all aspects of the process. That’s what keeps me going with I-Tul.

How did I-Tul Design & Software, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Their ability to communicate is key because it allows them to grasp what we’re saying and where we’re headed without overwhelming us with tech terms. There’s almost a sense of camaraderie in our weekly meetings, which goes a long way. As for project management, they’re good about getting our deliverables in on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Because they typically work with other businesses, I-Tul has developed a business-oriented mindset that other providers don’t always have. Thanks to that, they understand how to push our solution so that it can drive business growth. It’s a fringe benefit, but it’s made all the difference.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, you get what you pay for. There’s expertise there, and they take care of their clients. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up consistent meetings with an agenda so that everyone’s on the same page. That really helps to stay on track with your goals and prevents any slipping.
