The CEO Kristian goes to bat for his team, and really cares about how his team performs. He's so far been pretty honest and transparent about everything and is pretty easy going.

One of my clients is trying to build a better symptom screening tool for people suffering from chronic illnesses. Existing online questionnaires are tedious and confusing for people often suffering from an illness that makes staring at a computer screen difficult.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Knowing Kristian, he's sensibility for building quick and lean proof of concepts is exactly what this client needed. Before they commit to this online service, we had to first get a functional PoC to test with patients.

We started with the most common illness the client's patients suffer from, and built a proof of concept in javascript. This questionnaire tested the scoring system we developed as a team, as well as the UI of the form. Actual patients were recruited for a first round of testing.

I worked with Kristian remotely, and he delegated the work as needed with his team locally.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The user testing was overwhelmingly positive. Very few revisions were needed, mostly text, to sign off on the PoC and start work on more illnesses. So far 5 more "phase 1" questionnaires have been built.

Kristian is very much on top of things. Efficient and quick. We communicated by email and Slack.

The main reason behind working with Kristian is that he's just a really good guy. There are a lot of qualified developers and agencies out there, but few I find are as much of a pleasure to work with, quick, and competitively priced like Kristian and his team.

Nope. Nothing comes to mind.

The project that we had them working on was something that needed a lot of testing in order to assure that customers could still do everything that they needed to do in the new interface. Upon launch we had very few issues and of the issues we received most were fairly minor.

We have meetings with them every other week to discuss what they are working on and if there is any assistance needed. We also communicate regularly through google chat and our own software.

They are able to work on a project that they don't know much about and get working quickly without needing our support. They're quality of work from the start is great as well.

We initially needed more communication between us and them and vice versa. We have since fixed those issues.

Cylindo makes 3D product visualization easy for furniture brands and retailers. We have created a platform that goes beyond high-quality product visualization and gives furniture businesses versatile assets they can leverage across multiple touchpoints.

From 360-spin and 4K zoom on the product page to AR assets, customizable lifestyle imagery and product visuals for cart thumbnails, shopping feeds, email, social media, catalogs, third-party marketplaces, and in-store kiosks. I am a Product Manager responsible for the digital touch points related to the content consumption and self-serv tools for content creation.

We wanted to enable the visualisation of AR models of furnitures for the Desktop visitors of our customers' websites, by introducing QR codes that can ve scanned via a mobile device. We also wanted to enable our customers to overlay product informations during the AR experience of their products via AR banners.

The collaboration started several years ago, and there has not reason to change vendor.

For both solution Hristov Development explored opportunities and limitations in both Android and iOS scenarios. The findings where condensed in a very clear overview, that allowed us to evaluate the dependencies of the proposed solution internally. Both QR code and AR banners features were tested with beta clients, with active support from Hristov Development.

Prior to their launch Hristov Development created a thorough documentation for the implementation.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hristov Development?

We needed help with software development. The existing platform we had was very clunky, and it was hardcoded, so we couldn’t make any modifications. Therefore, we ran into many issues on the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hristov Development built a database that allows the medical team to display and modify content on-site at a congress. It was a massive web application similar to a CMS. When I came in, they’d already been given some parameters to work. Also, we provided the content we wanted to display and our vision for the platform.

They did some basic design elements. Overall, the team was great at the development work, and they ensured everything was running smoothly.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Kristian (Executive Director) and had about five people on the team.

How did you come to work with Hristov Development?

They were doing some work for our IT department. My boss knew about this, so I think it was just through word of mouth. They were excellent contractors, so we asked them to work on our project with the congress team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $65,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2019–December 2021. We’ll probably extend the contract.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Whenever we take the kiosk out to a congress, we can get a usage report with the traffic we’ve gathered during that period. It’s a way to validate the need for the platform, but it also has been well-received by our attendees.

Moreover, we haven’t had any issues — it hasn’t stopped working or anything similar. If we had issues in production or the testing phase, Hristov Development would iron out all those problems before going live.

How did Hristov Development perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication was easy. When we were building the CMS, we touched bases every week to improve it on every iteration. We also had a Teams chat set up with them, so it was easy to access the team. Moreover, it was a two-way street, so they also had a quick way to get a hold of us. In general, the responsiveness was incredible.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their dedication and commitment to the client came through when we communicated with them. Also, their responsiveness came through when there was an issue. Hristov Development was always willing to provide solutions — there wasn’t a time when we felt we didn’t have options to solve a problem. The team would always come to us proactively, sometimes with solutions we hadn’t even thought of, which was a testament to how great they were. Overall, it was great to work with them as our partners.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They were a small team, and we’re growing, so we have more things to work on. As we’re scaling, they should probably think about it too. For example, a graphics person would be a great addition to their team.

Have an open dialogue about what you want to achieve and set clear expectations upfront. Hristov Development was a great partner; they always rolled up their sleeves alongside us to get the job done. They were a nimble and mighty team.
