What was the scope of their involvement?

Gummicube, Inc. helps promote our app growth through App Store Optimization. They set up app templates for iOS and Android App Stores and work on elevating the presence of our app. 

Additionally, they ensure that our app descriptions are always on-point and relevant compared to our competitors’ descriptions. Gummicube, Inc. then focuses on correcting structures and wordings to help us have higher rankings based on the app algorithms. 

When our product has reached the go-live stage, their team has taken charge of conducting various tests to track our app’s ranking under different categories. We then update these descriptions and display images periodically to keep our product up-to-date and trending.

We started our engagement in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve only recently launched the app, so it’s still early to speak of quantitative metrics. However, I can confirm that Gummicube, Inc. has done a tremendous job in amplifying our app’s presence to our audience. 

They’ve presented our platform well and utilized a reliable keyword structure, and they’ve also done well in calculating trends and metrics to help us determine our next strategies. Overall, Gummbicube, Inc. has been nothing but a great asset to our team.

Gummicube, Inc. is the most punctual and prepared team I’ve ever worked with — they’re just on top of their project management game. Their team delivers prompt and on-point solutions, and they’re always excited to bring innovative ideas to the table.

Gummicube, Inc. has a very thorough process — they complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency, and they’re always prepared to move forward with the next step. I haven’t worked with a team as dedicated as Gummicube, Inc., and that says a lot about their performance.

The first iteration of the App Store launched in 2008. I was fortunate to be at the right place at the right time and was instrumental in launching my organization’s first app and many more since. If you were in the app growth space during those early years you know it was a time like no other.

By 2015/16 app exposure started to get challenging as the competitive landscape grew. It was around this time that I began to investigate App Store Optimization, (ASO) as a viable marketing strategy.

With the understanding that incorporating ASO into the marketing mix was the only way to drive organic growth and access to mobile keyword data was the only fuel; I sought out organizations with this expertise and Gummicube rose to the top of the list quickly.

App Store Optimization, (ASO): The process begins w/a kick off call designed to give Gummicube the opportunity to learn about your app. They'll go over the features and benefits, your competition, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Gummicube uses their proprietary software to analyze your app's performance in the app stores and circles back with proposed app title, subtitle, short description, long description and keywords based on their findings. This is a collaborative process.

Gummicube also has a creative team that will design and optimize your app's screenshots for the best conversion results. After the app is live in the app store and has indexed, Gummicube will send a full report of the app's impressions, conversion and install performance. This report informs the next steps as ASO is an iterative process. Not meant to be a one and done.

Apple Paid Search (ASA) - the Gummicube team will launch a campaign and assist with optimizing throughout the remainder of your budget.

We were looking to increase our conversion from impressions to downloads, and essentially increase our revenue.

How did you select this vendor?

Gummicube was the most data-driven from all the vendors we interviewed. And cost effective for our company.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They built new screenshots, going through a few iterations. They also A/B tested titles and subtitles. Constantly updating our metadata so our search improved. Also did some facebook marketing for us including creating content, targeting, headlines, etc. They also built a storyboard for our video to App Store.

What was the team composition?

We always had 3 people on the call: 1 the founder, and 2 project managers. They were always on time, consistant with the people we interacted with and always had a deck/presentation and follow up regarding our meeting.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our app now looks more beautiful in the App Store! Our screenshots improved, our icon is more dynamic and overall we feel our app improved a lot from the start to the end.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We received emails almost on a daily basis. There was always updates regarding our upcoming calls and summaries. There were presentations and visuals for our meetings and data to describe movement of downloads, impressions, etc. Always follow up post call and other emails throughout the week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were super organized. They were great with timelines and executed the project step by step. I always knew what they were working on and received results within 2 weeks with their data.

We did lots of market research and decided to go with Gummicube, because they seemed to be the real experts in the space.

The Gummicube team first provides us with a baseline anayliss of our app store engagement. Then based on that, they give us with metadata and screenshot recommendations on a monthly cadence. We have used them for a total of 5 of our apps.

We have one main point of contact, but when we are working on high visibility project, other folks on the vendor's side get looped in for a total of 3 people.

We have significantly grown our organic keyword visibility in the App Store and Google Play Store.

Our teams work well together. Communication is simple because it's just between me and our main point of contact at Gummicube.

I had been working with them since many year, it was recommended to me.

We had weekly meetings where we went over the running experiments. They provided icon and screenshot designs. We analysed the keywords that would be useful to test in bot android and iphone.

Around 3 or 4, I dont know their positions.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was relatively small for budget reasons but we did manage to get some successful experiments and increase our page conversion. They also helped us build a strategy to go on with the experiments ourselves.

Lots of communication, weekly meetings, their reply time was always less than a day. They would share results in google drive files and had a living document where we could see the progress.

They are genuinely interested in helping us.

It is kind of expensive, specially for a startup.
