What challenge were you trying to address with Groovy Web LLP?

I had built a mobile app from scratch, but it was not properly defined, so we needed help from Groovy.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I provided my research and ideas for design, along with a defined product roadmap. Then, Groovy proposed several additional designs and did extensive research on how things like payment options needed to be done in this area. 

So far, they’ve tweaked the roadmap and divided the features into multiple deliverables from MVP to finished product. After that, they’ve rebuilt the app for iOS and Android using React Native. They’ve also integrated an analytics platform on the web and upgraded our backend from .NET to PHP for efficiency.

We began working together in May 2021, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Groovy delivered the mobile app. We’ve tested it with 2,000 people and received positive feedback. We expect to see it take off with great results. Based on the research done, the app’s look and feel and ease of use are exactly what the market wants.

How did Groovy Web LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

The Groovy team is communicative, proactive, and transparent. They keep us informed and share source code, platforms, and everything else to make the engagement run smoothly. We use Jira, and communicate via Slack and phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their upper management is friendly and makes themselves available. They’re reliable and work quickly on anything we give to them, usually finishing tasks the next day.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Groovy can still improve the scope of the app’s functionalities and do more research to define them. They’re already working to improve on that.

It's more than 2 years we are greatly working with Sagar Patel and the Groovy Team. We chose this vendor based on their experience, knowledge of project, passion, skills and cost estimate.

We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objective: PWA for Fan Rating. Sagar and his team provide us useful suggestions. We provided their team with wireframes and designs. Within 2 months they delivered the first round of Fan Rating web app, converting users from old app and adding interesing functionalities with a cool design easy to navigate. They have been patient and careful with our feedbacks and delivered a complete version really fast.

A project manager, Sagar Patel, was assigned to be our main point of contact throughout the project. We are really glad to have worked with a skilled and expert professional such as Sagar. Additionally, I mostly interacted with other lead front- and backend developers. A team really expert with PWA technology that provide us all solutions.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since the first version of Fan Rating, 1,5 years ago we did giant steps forward thanks to Groovy. We saw over 50.000 downloads and achived more than 4,5 star rating in app store

The project manager, Sagar, and all his team was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. We had phone calls almost everyday. Everything was deliverd on time and we received ample warning if a deadline wasn't going to be met. Furthermore, they listened carefully to all our feedbacks and they were really fast to develop them even if were not in first scope.T

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their fast development skills have blown me away. All integrations and enhancements were really fast and stable. They were also patient and willing to walk with us through their process while we learned

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything was fine and was a pleasure to work with them. We'll definitely work with Groovy in the future for enhancements and more projects.

Our requirements was to make a development in Node.js or PHP for our switchboard Frontend and Backend: Our goal was to finish the project in 2 months. The project is finishing in this moment but the delay has been due to new enhances that we have detected.

We worked with another developers but they recommended us to Sagar Patel and his team, and the result has been very satisfying

The initial scope of works was to develop 3 modules to complete our switchboard. First of all was the frontend, they had to make the screen and the code to give the features that we need, then, start with customer backend, the module where the switchboard is configured for each customer. To finish the scope, they must develop a master backend, similar a CRM where we storage the customer information (contract, products, modules, info, ...) The language has been PHP Laravel finally.

I'm not sure. For another project and this project, I've talked at least, with 4 people.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The main outcomes is that the project is working and we can sell the product to our customer. We are finishing the project, so the deliverables will deliver us in these days.

We had the communication with Sagar as a Solution Architect and PM, and the communication was done by Slack and calls when they were neccesary.

We hired Groovy Web to migrate an existing website from PHP to the MERN stack. This included a complete rebrand, and the implementation of several new features.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We decided to go with Groovy Web for this project based on their past reviews, their portfolio of projects and after spending time discussing the project with Krunal. Communication was great right from the start, and I instantly felt that they were a good fit for this project.

We provided Groovy Web with a detailed specification document and the UI for each of the new layouts. After discussing the project and going back and forth with questions to make sure everything was clear, Groovy assigned a team to work on the project. A detailed milestone proposal was agreed upon before they then started coding. The new website was coded in React and Node.

Krunal was the main point of contact during the initial setup of the project, and was available to answer questions and provide updates throughout. Once the project was underway, the lead developer on the project was Nauman who worked alongside a small team to complete each stage of the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are really pleased with the end result. The website developed by Groovy performs well and looks great. The project did take longer than expected, but there were several complex features and some changes we introduced during the project. So overall the additional time needed wasn't an issue.

The main communication tool we used throughout the project was Trello. This worked really well. Overall the communication was very good.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very patient, hardworking, and good at what they do. They always tried their best to accommodate any changes we requested and persisted throughout complex tasks to achieve a good end result that we were happy with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were some stages during the project where we would have to go back and forth with bug fixes so they could perhaps improve the QA aspect of their service. But that is only a very minor issue, and it certainly wouldn't stop me from working with Groovy Web on future projects or recommending them to others.

I needed Groovy Web to help me with backend development for a couple of projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Groovy Web provides a wide range of services to our company and clients including design and development for websites, web apps, and mobile apps. The specifics differ from project to project, and they use different technologies such as PHP, Laravel, React, Node, and JavaScript.

They do most of the R&D because the clients normally have very basic needs, but their expectations are very high. We work on a lot of details, like the guidelines and expectations, and deliver it to the client for approval before we start to work. 

What is the team composition?

It depends on the technologies we need because they have specific people for each technology. Normally, we work with around 8–10 people for each project, including project, company, and sales managers. We also work with different types of developers who specialize in mobile and front- and backend.

How did you come to work with Groovy Web LLP?

A few years back, we posted one of our client’s project requirements. We bid on multiple different companies, Groovy Web included. They won the bid, and I continued working with them.

They’re one of the best companies and developers I’ve worked with. 

How did Groovy perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Trello to manage the projects. We put the tasks in and work in an agile way in sprints. They deliver the sprint, and we put it in the development server to test. Then, we push it to the production server.

In terms of communication, we usually communicate via email and Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Groovy Web LLP’s team is very clear, honest, and knowledgeable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Some of their staff don’t speak English well. That’s something that needs improvement on their side. There’s a place for better communication skills.

I selected the firm through a recommendation on Fiverr. Having has a couple of e-meetings with their representative (Sagar), I opted to give the project to them. The key deciding factor was their willingness to understand the project, past experience and availability at all times (along with pre-emptive communication).

I have only worked with 2 members of the team, but I could see that the team was much more extensive (some 5-10+ individuals). The people I engaged with were the project managers.

The project was launched as expected which is absolutely excellent. Even more, they platform has additional functionalities included, merely as the team went beyond the plain developer's guide.
