What specific goals or objectives did you hire GIS-point to accomplish?

• Building a web-based site suitability analysis platform that enables city planners and analysts to evaluate optimal locations for infrastructure based on multiple geospatial criteria.
• Developing an interactive hexagon grid map with adaptive resolution and real-time suitability scoring to visualize spatial data intuitively.
• Integrating multi-criteria decision modeling (MCDA) with support for configurable weighted overlay logic across factors such as proximity to metro lines, roads, environmental zones, and zoning rules.
• Creating a secure Admin Panel for no-code management of data layers, decision models, user roles, and organizational branding.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We engaged GIS-Point to design and develop a full-cycle, web-based Site Suitability Analysis Platform tailored for urban planners, real estate analysts, and environmental specialists in Saudi Arabia.

GIS-Point delivered an end-to-end solution: from requirements workshops and UX design to a production-ready platform with a dynamic hexagon-based spatial visualization engine. The system calculates and displays suitability scores per hexagon cell based on user-selected decision models, with adaptive zoom resolution for performance at scale.

Key deliverables included: a multi-criteria spatial analytics engine with weighted overlay logic; toggleable data layers covering transportation, infrastructure, and environmental zones; a comprehensive Admin CMS for model creation, layer management, user roles, access control, and white-label branding; and a multi-tenant architecture supporting isolated organizational environments. The backend was built on .NET Core with ABP Framework, the frontend on Angular, with PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS (EC2, S3) underpinning the infrastructure.

The project is in the final stabilization and pre-launch stage.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

GIS-Point delivered all core platform modules on schedule, resulting in a fully operational site suitability analysis tool now used to support infrastructure planning and environmental assessment decisions. The platform significantly reduced the time and specialist expertise required for spatial analysis workflows, making GIS-level decision-making accessible to non-technical planners. The system successfully handles the rendering of thousands of scored hexagons with smooth performance, and the multi-tenant architecture supports isolated organizational environments with no data leakage. The solution is actively used by government bodies and private developers to drive data-driven site evaluation.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Project management was structured and reliable. GIS-Point followed an agile delivery cycle with clear milestones, maintaining consistent progress throughout the engagement. They were responsive to our feedback, proactively surfaced potential issues before they became blockers, and adapted quickly when requirements evolved. Communication was smooth and transparent at every stage.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most was GIS-Point's ability to bridge complex GIS and spatial analytics requirements with an intuitive, high-performance user interface — without requiring our end users to have deep technical knowledge. Their team brought strong domain expertise across backend architecture, cloud infrastructure, and frontend visualization. The no-code Admin Panel they delivered gave our team full autonomy over decision models and data layers, which was a significant value-add we hadn't initially anticipated.

Are there any areas for improvement or something GIS-point could have done differently?

Nothing significant to note. The collaboration was smooth and the outcomes met our expectations.

I'm the owner of an IT company. We provide GIS consultancy and training, helping organizations turn spatial data into clear insights and better decisions. We also develop PlateauGIS, a simple hosted platform to manage, map, and share geodata with full control.

What challenge were you trying to address with GIS-point?

We needed help developing our SaaS GIS tool, PlateauGIS. We could write some basic code but not to make it work in a commercial setting.

I knew GIS-point through my old employer. I had a good connection with Andriiana.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with GIS-point in November 2025, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have weekly updates and meet the acceptance criteria. For example, the public map URL loads without login, with working layers, legends, pop-ups, and scale bars. The organization-only map rejects anonymous requests and loads after login. Switching the base map doesn't affect layer rendering, and the full extent sets to the map's initial view. The viewer passes responsiveness checks and meets the agreed-upon TTI.

How did GIS-point perform from a project management standpoint?

GIS-point delivers fairly on time. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm impressed by GIS-point's professionalism and attitude, knowing they're working during a war.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We're both non-native English speakers, which makes communication a bit hard sometimes. However, there's nothing they can improve on.
