What impressed us most about Galera was their ability to transform complex and often dry concepts, like financial viability and construction, into visually engaging, easy-to-understand stories. They didn’t just animate information, they brought clarity and creativity to topics that are typically hard to explain and even harder to make interesting.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Galera could have done differently?

One area where Galera could improve is in project tracking. As the volume of content grew, it became difficult to keep track of what had been reviewed, what was approved, and what was still pending. Starting the project with a shared tracking document or dashboard, outlining deliverables, status updates, and feedback history would have helped maintain clarity and alignment, especially toward the end of the process.

We tried with other agencies first, but the results were not good enough. So finally, we found Galera and decided to go with them, probably the best decision so far.

We went through multiple phases to ensure that both Galera and Us knew what we wanted to do and work on. Starting with our brand ideas, then we planned the making of the video with multiple steps that would let us review it and make any change necessary.

We worked with their team reference, which let us express anything we might want on the progress.

We can now begin our marketing campaign using the introductory video and any other video we might want in the future to expand our platform.

We were in contact through emails only, which was more than enough. Everything was super clean in the whole process.

I was the UX and Design Lead at a Commerce Frontend Platform that combines API orchestration, workflows, and frontend delivery to enable commerce teams to build and deliver engaging, optimized websites and web apps.

As a company in a relatively new field, in a booming industry, we wanted to have an easy-to-understand way to explain what we do and, most importantly, how we do it, what makes us a game-changer.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for a video-motion agency or freelancer with experience creating explainer videos for SaaS companies to deliver quality and originality. The team or freelancer needed to have exceptional design skills to help us evolve our ideas.

We started with a brief, where we provided all the context and work on the script, voice over and visual ideas we already had so far. We wanted to grow from there so the video would reflect the brand. We wanted Galera to take that to the next level.

They delivered, were very responsive, and supported us with their ideas. They also provided us with resources and advice to choose the music.

After that, they took our input and delivered a storyboard. We finetuned details together, and they moved on with the animation. They sent in snippets for us to see the look and feel and the flow of the animation.

After that was finalized, they worked on applying the voice-over and music adjustments.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked directly with Philipp, Creative Director at Galera. We exchanged feedback visually in Figma, and communicated decisions and updates via email. It was a collaborative process.

The agency was fast to respond, always suggesting improvements from their area of expertise, considering our feedback, and understanding how important it was for us that our brand was always consistent.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Internally, the team is very happy with the results. The video hasn’t been implemented yet in the website but we are confident it will boost conversion.

It was easy to talk with the agency. We communicated via email and Figma comments, which fits our remote and async first approach to communication. They kept us posted about timeframes and delivery. The agency was understanding yet proactive when we needed some extra time to gather feedback on our side.

Their creativity and mastery of their craft, providing us a visual and motion language that complemented other elements of our brand, which we know would be challenging. They were also supportive of our ideas and always found ways to improve them.

We looked for video production agencies that had the look & feel of the video that we hoped to make. Galera in particular caught our attention because of their keen eye for detail. The catchy animations and effects really contributed to making of a great video, and we were really impressed by the samples they had on their website. The Galera team's response to our questions and requests were also a big factor behind our decision. Not only did they understand what we wanted right away, but they were also able to give us excellent advice about what we wanted. It was a no brainer.

We started by providing Galera with a list of things we wanted, and provided a short script for what we felt would describe our service. We kept going back and forth with Galera to find the right tone, on which they drafted storyboards that served as visual aids for what our video would look like. After choosing the voiceover, we were provided with draft videos to which we also shared some feedback. It's pretty much what anyone would have expected in makings of a video; but we were impressed by how the Galera team were able to communicate with us efficiently despite discussing everything remotely. Usually these things are more effective when done in person, but Galera was really professional about the process.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We primarily interacted with the Creative Director of Galera. The feedback process was really simple, we told them what we wanted, Galera sent us visuals, and back and forth. Our vaguest descriptions and smallest requests were all turned into great visuals.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are yet to showcase the video to our clients or users, but we are confident that the video would work as we expected. The video does a wonderful job of making our service sound simple. Our sales team is really excited to be using this at future lead generation events as well.

We didn't have a specific timeline in mind, but Galera was really quick with their work. They gave us target dates for the next visuals, and the communication through Slack was really convenient as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Again, their attention to detail. They have the unique ability to capture what the client wants and turn it into great visuals with impressive details. Even the smallest animations and effects are geared towards the common goal of 'explaining' the service, something that a great explainer video should obviously do. It's easy for creators to deviate from this goal, and we've seen plenty of Youtube samples with meaningless/fancy effects throughout the video. Galera didn't waste a frame. Really impressed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind, just wish we had met earlier. Thanks for the great work, and if anyone reading this review is interested in an excellent explainer video, give them a call. I'm sure they'll impress you.

I’m the creative video lead and content lead at Wunder Mobility, which is a mobility tech company in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded four years ago, and it’s gone very far. We’ve gone from 20 people when I joined, to a couple of hundred people. We’re basically a white-label software company, and we power different mobility solutions and products, anything from kick scooters to rental software. We have 70–80 clients around the globe.

What challenge were you trying to address with Galera?

I have 10–15 years’ experience in live-action video projects, but I was looking for a partner that could help when it came to illustrated animation. If we did that kind of craft in-house, we’d have to rely on templates and basic motion. We wanted to create proper illustrated animations. Basically, we had a skill shortage on something we wouldn’t usually do in-house, and Galera was a talented young studio that we went to for a partnership.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve done two projects together, with the first one being a bigger project. We were launching a new product called Wunder Rent, and we made a specific landing page for it on our website, where potential clients could come and read about it, then get in contact with us through our form. One of the things that really helps conversions is having an animated explainer on that page.

They created a proper illustrated animation that explained what the product was. The approach was professional and clean, and it would help with our conversion rates. I wrote the script and got in contact with Galera. They made the video that’s on our website now.

What is the team composition?

They have a team that works on various things, but Philipp (Creative Director) is my main contact.

How did you come to work with Galera?

They reached out to me on LinkedIn and sent me a link to their website. I get a lot of messages like this, but I checked out their reel and really liked it. I believe it was actually around the time I needed this animation to be produced. It was just serendipitous timing.

How much have you invested with them?

The project was $5,000–$6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Galera in July 2019, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As an easy metric: we had half the conversions on that page without the video. With Galera’s content, and with the additions to their content, we doubled our conversions.

They’re a young company, and they have a very artistic edge. They really care about motion and design, and that comes through in their work. Compared to more corporate companies doing similar things, Galera has a much higher artistic level, and the motion has a more high-end quality. We can see the difference between most corporate explainer videos and the ones from someone that actually has a sensibility for motion and design. That gives us a good edge.

How did Galera perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very reliable. They can produce quality work with hard deadlines. They’re open to feedback and are very easy to work with. They’re good at translating what we need. It’s a very comfortable relationship.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Some anecdotal feedback on something that impressed me recently and demonstrated that they’re a very dedicated partner, is that, during the COVID-19 period we’re going through, we put together a nonprofit campaign to help mobility providers. Galera came on to help me free of charge, just to get this campaign up. That was really impressive, and it showed their dedication as a long-term partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I just think that they have a lot of potential, and they’re going to be a great company for a lot of partners.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They’re based in Ukraine and they’re a bit younger, so their prices are very competitive for what we got. Taking out a several-project contract with them will yield so much at such great quality.

Our company won a coveted assignment with a longstanding client: create a standout video to introduce their new AI-driven brand safety product. Our client is very invested in beautiful visuals and our video was higher concept than most. We needed an animation partner who could deliver something beautiful and dynamic while telling the story the way we envisioned.

As always, it was our goal to delight the client. However, as this was our first such video project we needed a showpiece that broadcasts what we can accomplish.

We vetted a number of video studios here in the United States and abroad. Galera was the only studio that was willing to work on a short timeline and had a reel that showed they could deliver great work on our budget.

Our creative director, Philip, understood what we were looking for from the start and was excited to get going. He clearly communicated the process from start to finish. We went from sketched frames, to sample illustrations, to full frames and ultimately animation. When our clients came back for multiple rounds of revision, Philip and his team executed those changes cheerfully.

Philip always clearly stated when feedback was needed, provided ample time and was patient when our clients were slow in getting back to us. When we asked for revisions, he always stated back to us what we needed to be sure we were on the same page. Communication was excellent.

Our client was delighted and showed the video at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a true win. Additionally, it assumes the hero spot on their product page. Clearly, they're in love.

Very effective. Philip communicated clearly, set expectations and always delivered on time. When our clients were slow with feedback, Philip always asked for an ETA and followed up. We were grateful that Galera was able to roll with client-side delays.
