I’m the founder of Codecrate, a company helping small e-commerce stores have more functionality on their Shopify platform. We provide a page builder with high flexibility without requiring any coding skills or technical abilities.

Additionally, func.media has designed and created our branding and our website. Their design work has also included creating animations and other visual elements for our advertising and our marketing materials. As for the website, they’ve created it from scratch and integrated it into Shopify, and they’ve also handled all the hosting and maintenance.

I’ve been very impressed with the site built by func.media; it doesn’t feel like a standard Shopify website because it is very customized and responsive. Additionally, I’m very happy with the designs and assets created and developed by func.media. Everything they’ve done feels tied together and is visually clean, making people drawn to our advertising.

Initially, when we were discussing the type of branding and animations we wanted, func.media’s proposals seemed to be a bit too playful. I was afraid that their approach would make our software seem not as powerful. However, I’m happy to have followed their suggestions because everything has worked out and looks amazing.

How did func.media perform from a project management standpoint?

func.media has performed very well. Our original budget was $100,000, and we haven’t hit that yet. As for project management, their team is very good at following up and communicating where they’re at in the project to keep me in the loop. We communicate mainly over email, and they give me access to their Monday dashboard. Additionally, we meet on Google Meet around twice per month to discuss things more in-depth.

What did you find most impressive about them?

func.media has a vast knowledge of the digital landscape and all the social media platforms that we should target. They’ve covered all the touchpoints, from contacting influencers and getting them to use our product to creating our advertising and animations for social media and our website in a way that everything flows as a cohesive strategy. Initially, I brought them in for social media ads, and I hadn’t thought of leveraging influencers. Thus, having them has helped me fill the gaps in my SMM knowledge.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. It would have been nice if they had let me know from the beginning that the project would take a year. It was unknown to me how long a project like this could take, so having an estimate would have been appreciated. Still, I’m very happy with everything we’ve done.

Additionally, func.media has provided us with video production services. func.media has completely transitioned and reformed the way our business operates, positioning us up against market leaders in the space. Without them, we wouldn’t have been able to do the work we’ve done; they operate as an internal part of our business.

Although we don’t have any prior metrics to compare, we’ve seen a huge lift in consumer-driven demand for our platform. Now, we also have a completely revolutionized rebrand and a great design implementation in our new site, which has ultimately impacted our revenue significantly.

After several rounds of discussion and adjustments, the func.media team were able to design, develop and deploy the new Shopify site, ensuring seamless integration with our Amazon fulfillment and Zendesk customer service features.

We had weekly then moved to bi-weekly calls as the need to communicate was adjusted to the project needs. Once we had all design factors finalized, we let the developers work and if needed, ad hoc calls to discuss any items that came up - overall, they were very flexible to our needs and schedule. Now as we continue with content creation, SEO and site improvements we work with Monday to ensure that projects are organized and communication doesn't get lost in email.

We had some issues with tracking all of our changes and update requests but func.media created our own forum with the tool, Monday, which allows me to have constant view of current and open items with more organized communication through the platform.
