BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the IT director of a company that operates more than 100 cinema locations in Turkey. Our company is based in Korea and operates cinemas in seven countries. We also provide cinema technology and logistical operations services.  

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Frank Software?

We engaged Frank Software to develop our mobile application for business and operational reporting, as well as our machine learning infrastructure for retail operations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Frank Software developed our mobile app for Android and iOS. They also provided IoT development for another reporting application for Android. The latter product can be used to change the recommended products and monitor daily goals.

Frank Software also built an e-commerce microsite for us. It uses custom software for cinema operations instead of a public e-commerce system. They provided the full design of the application, which we approved.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with four people from their side, including an iOS developer, an Android developer, a project manager, and a designer.

How did you come to work with Frank Software?

I learned of Frank Software through a referral from a colleague at another company. We selected Frank Software because they’re an agile and creative team, and they understood our needs clearly and in a short time.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent approximately $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Frank Software in February 2018. The first project was completed in March of that year. They’ve continued to support and update our software ever since.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software was developed for our management and operations team, and they’re thrilled to be using it. It’s become the most used software in our company. Every minute, people are looking at our location performance, which is based on a real-time monitoring system. They can see each sale based on location and item. Since the project’s completion, Frank Software has supported us with any issues.

How did Frank Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They completed the project within the deadline and cost parameters. They’re close to Turkey, so they visit us frequently, and we can also call or email them at any time. This wasn’t the biggest project for us, and the scope was pretty clear and without a lot of changes, so we didn’t use any project management tools.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They communicate well, and they bring good energy to the project. We’re very fortunate to leverage their experience during this project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Frank Software is a startup company, so they’re getting bigger and bigger every day. We’ve suggested banks and companies in the retail sector for them to work with, and they’re looking into expanding into those areas.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They’re very good candidates for software development, especially with new technologies.
