What challenge were you trying to address with Fractl?

We needed a partner to help us with market research. In my role as SEO manager, we often look to make improvements to our sites, but we also need to promote the sites externally, whether it’s through publications or link building, etc.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fractl performs market research and helps us come up with original content ideas. They write content for articles on certain topics and distribute them to publications and lists that we have connections with for coverage.

Our main engagement has been around marketing campaigns for some other brands and websites that we promote. We have ideation sessions on business- and home-related topics, working with Fractl to come up with newsworthy ideas. Then, they produce the content. We run 1,000 people per campaign. They use data to come up with our primary market and create surveys based on the discussions that we have with them. Then, we publish our findings and get new coverage easily from high-authority news sources for publications, blogs, etc. They’re delivering stuff all the time. It’s very much an ongoing relationship.

My main point of contact is Ryan (VP of Services, Fractl). I’m also in contact with a project manager who receives tasks.

They were a referral. Our company actually acquired some other properties we worked on, and the working relationship with Fractl came from the previous owner of one of those businesses.

We started working together in late 2018, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The results have spoken for themselves. Fractl’s work has been really key to our coverage strategy. They provide high-authority, respectable publications. Teaming up with Fractl and creating these original pieces has been really effective in earning us coverage and performance in search. Things are usually delivered in a very convenient format for us to work with, and we go from there.

How did Fractl perform from a project management standpoint?

Fractl is really responsive. There’s clear communication. They’re good at delivering on time and managing expectations when things don’t go as planned. Everything is delivered as described the majority of the time. When things haven’t been delivered exactly on time, there have always been explanations. I don’t hold that against them. We have weekly calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have been really effective at delivering, communicating, and managing expectations. They have good relationships established. They have a good network, whether it be with reporters or press or however they work their magic to really get our story in front of people’s eyes.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I’d have them improve.

I have no trouble recommending their services to somebody looking for quality research and distribution to publications.

Fractl is helping us amplify our voice within the local markets. Their team develops a unique mix of marketing initiatives using data science projects and customer surveys. A great bulk of their work involves content marketing for SEO. In addition to advertising our services, they promote our company’s culture and core values through strategic content. We work together to research our target consumers, compile web experiences, and drive traffic. When reaching out to media outlets, they provide publications with creative assets. They were also commissioned to work on a few projects for our ADT account. Recently, they developed a UX-optimized crime heatmapping web tool.

Fractl’s account strategist serves as our main point of contact, but we also interacted with their co-founder and senior vice president of creative. Their development, outreach, and SEO teams fluctuate depending on the size of the task.

How did you come to work with Fractl?

One of their co-founders reached out to me via LinkedIn, and I agreed to meet up with them. During the meeting, they explained how their company works and what sets their services apart from their competitors. Their pitch resonated with me, so we decided to work with them.

Our annual spend is a little more than $100,000.

We started working with Fractl in December 2015, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Protection 1 was originally one of the largest unknown security companies in the market, but Fractl has positioned our brand as a prominent thought leader in the security industry. Several reputable websites are mentioning our name and embedding our links in their content, as a result of Fractl’s link building strategies; their SEO tactics have generated similar success. We have also received a generous amount of media coverage for our brand and innovative products. Since we began working with Fractl, we've achieved record highs in key areas of our SEO program. Whether developing content or web tools, their deliverables are always high-quality. Fractl’s scope has evolved, but their success is consistent.

How did Fractl perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with them is similar to working with an internal stakeholder because they are genuinely invested in our business goals. Although nothing is guaranteed in the marketing world, Fractl has the perfect level of commitment to ensure that the outcome is as successful as possible. Their team is highly responsive to our needs and always available to speak with us in-person or via phone, email, and text. We also appreciate their flexibility with scheduling.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team came to us with exceptional ideas and a vast network of media contacts, which we were able to leverage and achieve outstanding results for our brand.

They have not disappointed us yet.

To get the most out of their services, we recommend giving Fractl as much creative freedom as possible. Restrictions will only yield limited results.

Fractl dove deep into our company and our current content efforts (providing guidance on best practices) and ultimately delivered a set number of campaigns, which resulted from in-depth ideation sessions based on our calendar and topics that would best resonate with our audience. They performed custom research and pulled available third-party data to develop their stories, build the creative elements, and deliver the final product.

Now, Fractl builds a pitch list and strategy while developing the campaigns and then promotes their content after its published.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fractl?

Our business goals have changed a few times. Initially, we needed to increase brand awareness and link building.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fractl has provided link-building work for our company, but we now focus more on lead generation and content creation. Fractl writes marketing blog posts for us, describing how our tools can be used in a best-practices context. Our content is optimized for organic searches.

Fractl has provided some graphic design services, including header images, infographics, and screenshots of our product.

How did you come to work with Fractl?

I contacted 2 to 3 companies that I'd come across in time. We ran a test phase with them in order to see how each agency compared to the rest. Fractl was the easiest to work with and provided the best quality outcomes. Most agencies can have cookie-cutter approaches based on rigid questionnaires, but Fractl wasn't like that.

How much have you invested with Fractl?

Some of our blog posts are more complex than others are, and Fractl has done other, more ongoing work, but I can't provide exact figures.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Fractl in October 2015. We signed up for a few campaigns initially, and restarted the work around 2 months ago [August 2016], when our budget allowed it. We have an ongoing relationship with Fractl and work on monthly projects.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Our work with Fractl has definitely been successful, and we plan to continue it for as long as our budget allows it. We use our blog posts for email blasts, and usually receive 100-plus leads per week out of the effort.

How did Fractl perform from a project management standpoint?

Fractl doesn't demand much effort from my end of things, which is important when trying to promote features and products. Fractl has an ability to figure out our company without much handholding.

What did you find most impressive about Fractl?

It's difficult to find an agency that understands a specific product and can incorporate elements of our offering into the written content. Many of them contract out writers and produce material that is completely isolated from the actual product. Fractl is very good at blending them together, almost playing a product marketing role.

Are there any areas Fractl could improve?

Fractl could improve in terms of graphics. They're not necessarily bad, but they're designed by the same people.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Fractl?

The aesthetic used by Fractl is pretty much theirs – with a very specific look. If the client wants their own brand to be conveyed, visually they might need to work closer with Fractl and provide guidance. From what I've been able to tell, Fractl is open to this and has asked us about specific color palettes, but I can't speak fully about their ability to design outside of a certain aesthetic.

I’m a senior content manager at a self-storage solutions company operating in the real estate industry.

We have a small marketing team that covers SEO, content, and paid ads for three different websites. We wanted to outsource some of our content creation, particularly data journalism, which is good for building authority and getting our name out there. However, it’s difficult for our in-house team to run surveys, aggregate data, and build stories around the data.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fractl has been helping us with our content creation. Initially, we filled out an in-depth questionnaire that covered the operational side of our business and our branding guidelines. We shared tone and voice documents, positioning, and what made our three different sites unique from one another, even though they functioned quite similarly. The team went through a lot of our branding materials, including our website designs and copy content.

Currently, Fractl is working on more digital PR pieces and quote attributions for us. They’re helping us get our name out there in terms of quotes on relevant topics like moving and organization.

We’ve worked with about a dozen teammates, including data journalists, the director of content, and some of Fractl's PR team.

How did you come to work with Fractl?

My former superior found Fractl. The team had the best pitches when we were reviewing ideas and brainstorming with other vendors. We had seen the other vendors’ ideas before, but Fractl had a fresh perspective and ideas that we hadn’t seen in some of the other agencies.

We’ve spent around $50,000 for a six-month engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2025, and our engagement is ongoing. We’ve just renewed our contract with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Fractl has gotten us mentioned and linked in big outlets like US News, Realtor.com, and USA Today. We’ve gotten about 700 links in total through them, including brand mentions and other things we've been looking for. Overall, Fractl's work has met our expectations.

How did Fractl perform from a project management standpoint?

Fractl meets deadlines, stays on budget, and is a good communicator. We use trackers set up in Google Sheets, and we communicate via Slack. We also use emails and periodic meetings to catch up and check in on the account.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Fractl's creativity and ability to deliver on said creativity are impressive. We’ve heard a lot of agencies that are creative but can’t land the links and brand mentions we want. Fractl has good ideas that they execute well, and those ideas get picked up. Their consistency in delivery is also impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re pretty happy with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Fractl cares about your brand, so tell them as much information as you can about who you are and how you want to talk to your customers so that they can use it. Over the course of the engagement, if Fractl writes something and you have feedback, they’re very responsive and receptive to that feedback; they take it, fix it, and learn from it.

Don’t be afraid to get Fractl on the same page because they’re super receptive to feedback, even on tone and voice. They’re not precious about their creation and are willing to collaborate. Go into the engagement with a collaborative mindset, and it’ll work out.

We're in a small, niche space and yet we're contantly on the first page of Google for many of our industry's high volume keywords.

Exceptionally good. Communication is always clear, concise, and frequent. Definitely one of our favorite agencies to work with especially during the ideation phase.
