I am a managing director at Smalk Works, a startup studio. We build apps for both internal and external use. I manage projects and come up with app ideas myself.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flowcodes?

I needed an app developed on a budget.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flowcodes developed a native iOS mobile app for us. The platform is a question app full of conversation starters to help you get to know somebody. There are in-app purchases to unlock more questions as well s a filter and randomization feature.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with the managing partner at Flowcodes.

How did you come to work with Flowcodes?

I found them through Code Canyon, a code marketplace. They offer existing app code and I found one that was quite similar to what I wanted to develop. I wanted to make a bunch of modifications so I contacted them via email. They requested a proposal for the changes and replied with a quote. Since I was happy with that quote, I decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested about $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement ran from June–August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The app has 5-star reviews and minimal crashed. It has been translated into seven different languages and started to gain traction in other marketplaces around the world.

Our app has over 300 Product Hunt upvotes and was a top 10 product of the day. Apple reached out to us to featured our app on the Apple Store and their social media accounts.  We have also received positive reviews on a couple of app review sites. 

How did Flowcodes perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything went great. All of the requirements were compiled in Google Docs and our teams communicated via Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are a high-quality but affordable option. Flowcodes is incredibly responsive to my feedback. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be nice if they offered more design help.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set up a slack channel to streamline communication. It’s also good to have clear requirements. They will make recommendations but also will deliver what you request.

I am the CEO and founder of OOK Group. We are the largest online catalog of postcards, funny pictures, and GIFs for any occasion.

For what projects/services did your company hire Flowcodes ?

We hired Flowcodes to develop mobile apps for both iOS and Android based on our specifications.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to further enhance the existing content on our website with mobile apps. The apps would have new features, improvements, and fixes.

How did you select this vendor?

We started working with Flowcodes due to a recommendation from a colleague. Their cost-efficient pricing also factored into our final decision.

Describe the project in detail.

Flowcodes developed a set of native iOS and Android apps that allowed users to create, sign, and send the perfect postcard, funny picture, or GIF to anyone in the world. They created all functionalities from scratch and provided feedback on the UX/UI. Finally, they made all of the adjustments that we asked for before launching the product.

What was the team composition?

I worked with one main point of contact, but their team included three more members.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I was very impressed with the quality of their work. From beginning to end, their processes were solid, and we were able to develop the apps on schedule and within budget. As a result of Flowcodes’ high-quality work, both platforms garnered high ratings and positive user feedback. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Flowcodes delivered comprehensive services, managing all of the necessary details. Whenever I needed something, they were there to take care of it.  They were always willing to educate me on processes, suggesting new ideas and walking me through the key steps.

In terms of coordination, the team was professional and accessible, and everyone adapted to our preferred communication methods. We got to know each other well through regular chats, email, and video call and communicated openly. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Overall, Flowcodes provided great customer service. They’re really good with people and care a lot about the needs of the client. Their workflow resulted in a successful and cost-effective partnership, and we never ran into any longstanding problems.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not that I recall. They did great work, and I would love see their team grow.
