I’m the regional leader of a wholesale distributor. We serve customers across Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, and Mississippi with a focus on exceptional service and well-stocked inventory.

What challenge were you trying to address with Exodata?

We needed help overhauling our entire technology stack.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Exodata has revamped our access points, cameras, alarms, backup internet connections, VPNs, and corporate servers. The team has also migrated our legacy on-premises servers to our Microsoft Azure cloud. Exodata has replaced over 500 cameras across our locations and 200+ access points. The team has also run fiber optics and installed miles of Cat cable. Exodata has helped us run our Microsoft 365 tenant and ensure we’re safe and secure with better security practices.

How did you come to work with Exodata?

We found Exodata through an online search. We chose them because they were close to our geographic location, their pricing fit our budget, and they were a great culture fit. Their quality of work and high standards really stood out to us. No corners were cut, and they ensured we were happy with the work at each step of the way. RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Exodata’s quality of installing new hardware, decommissioning the old hardware and disposing of it, running the new cables, and migrating our servers to the cloud without impacting our business operations has been impressive. Moreover, their top-notch customer service is great. I can text, call, or message our project manager on Microsoft Teams at any time of the day or weekend and get a response in minutes.

We’ve also noticed cost savings in modern hardware. Exodata has gotten us out of long-term service and support contracts by streamlining us on a full UniFi network stack, saving us $200,000+ per year. The team has also installed backup internet and power backup solutions at every location, so we don’t have any operational downtime. That has been a game-changer.

Our network performance and security have also improved after Exodata’s work. Our network has been rock solid with the fiber and backup solutions. We have 5G and Starlink solutions where needed, and backup coax and fiber at all locations that can support it.

Moreover, we haven’t had a single security incident since Exodata started supporting us. We’re using their security operations center as a service (SOCC) team that triages and handles all security events. That has been amazing because we could never set up a whole team of security experts to do that for us. Exodata has also been amazing at handling all events and providing training to our team members.

How did Exodata perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything has been on time. Exodata clearly communicates schedules and works around our business. We’ve had to shuffle their priorities quite frequently.
We’ve communicated through in-person meetings, virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Exodata’s attention to detail, quality of work, and responsiveness have been impressive. I also love that their entire team is US-based, so we never have to worry about offshore time zones.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’ve exceeded our expectations. Exodata is an amazing team to work with; I couldn’t recommend them enough.

I’m the senior engineering manager of Heritage Distribution Holdings, a rapidly growing HVAC/R distributor in the US. We partner with local businesses to provide comprehensive supply chain solutions and exceptional service for customers, employees, and suppliers.

We needed help re-architecting our Azure environment and doing a full physical network refactor across 100+ locations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Exodata has designed and implemented a scalable, secure, and well-architected Azure environment, including security, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), monitoring, analytics, and budget controls. Additionally, the team has refactored our network in 100+ locations, removing old networking equipment and installing a brand-new stack, including routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and cameras.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Exodata has successfully failed over locations to the new networking stack. The team has also provided a new Azure environment for our employees and developers to use without issues. We’ve seen 90% fewer outages due to redundant backups, faster speeds thanks to new Cat-6 cables, and modern networking equipment. Additionally, we have full stack visibility, so if tickets are submitted for issues on-site, our team can remotely diagnose issues 80% quicker.

How did Exodata perform from a project management standpoint?

Exodata is very communicative and professional. The team meets every deadline. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Exodata’s white-glove approach is impressive. No matter how things change or adjust on our end, they always pick up the slack and ensure we meet our deadlines without impacting our business.
