We have our service for over a year, and we noticed from user feedback and our analytics that we have many usability issues in our application. We decided to hire an external agency to improve our usability and simplify user flows.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to increase the main features use for or musicians users, simplify user flows and make the design consistent.

The first thing, we had a few discovery calls where we aligned our vision of what successful project completion looks like, and after that, Excited designed a roadmap that matched our deadlines. We constantly had demo calls where Excited presented their work and receiving our feedback.

We are working with the Product Designer and Founding Partner. Excited created a structure that allows you to work directly with partners. They added a lot of value as a strategic partner.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After we released a new onboarding model, we've received a significant increase in successful registrations as well as fantastic feedback from our existing users. We are more than satisfied with the results that the redesign gave us.

Excited did a great job in the communication and collaboration process. It feels like they are part of our team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their understanding of our needs and their ability to get in the minds of our customers. They were able to take our feature-heavy vision and turn it into a benefit-driven design.

I am the Sr. Scrum Master at an insurance technology comapny I am responsible for gathering business requirements and helping the team breakdown requirements into deliverable slices of functionality. We've created a micro loan for health care out of pocket costs.

For what projects/services did your company hire Excited?

We had an agreement with our lenders to create a platform to view and purchase debt. While working on implementing this we had numerous other priorities to deliver, and only one designer to help implement it all. We reached out to Excited because we had worked with one of their designers before and needed additional resources to deliver the design for a new platform.

What were your goals for this project?

The end result was for Excited to design the platform and our internal system to support the platform. The design lead to development of a platform that will make ease of use for our lenders and long term investors.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We knew we needed additional resources to design the MicroLoan Platform and wanted to work with the designer who lead the look, feel and usability of our other applications. We had worked with a designer who was now with Excited who designed our other platforms and navigated through other contractors to get in-touch with him again.

We began the project working from a process flow that was defined from contractual language. When we hired Excited, they took the process flow and broke it into an experience map. The experience map was reviewed with business owners to ensure all requirements and intent was covered before diving into the design. We then began with the design of the Lenders platform. The look and feel was exactly what our business was hoping for. The design had to be user friendly and understandable while incorporating many metrics and numbers that could be exported and manipulated if need be. Throughout the project and as it continues we've evolved the design and MVP requirements to ensure a roadmap for the project agreed upon by the development, design, and business team.

The resources from Excited included two designers; one part time and one full time. One designer took the lead majority of the time on the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is currently ongoing. We've enjoyed working with the Excited designers. There is a level of ownership and confidence from them that can be unmatched. Our COO, CFO, and CTO have been heavily involved in the project and are consistently amazed at the designers ability to be three steps ahead of their requirements and thoughts.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Designers from Excited are easy to work with. At least one of the resources were available when we needed them even across such drastic time zone differences. The designers integrated with the scrum team seamlessly. Excited was able to jump into our project management tools without issue, and helped us to transition to a more efficient design tool.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I and our business leaders have been consistently amazed at how Excited Designers were able to visualize the business requirements. The designers anticipated needs the business that the business team didn't know they had, and consistently delivered high quality designs.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We're beyond impressed with the Excited designers, and will recommend them, and hopefully continue to use them in the future.

I was very happy with the process and experience of working with Oleksandr. We’ve had much to do to improve our processes, and as we get through some of the necessary changes on our website, I anticipate working with Excited again.

I’m the founder of a startup building a platform to simplify the process of scoping new software.

We hired them to conceptualize and prepare high-fidelity designs of the new software. They were also required to create high-quality videos for promotional use.

What were your goals for this project?

We aimed to have several high-quality videos demonstrating the key unique features of the software. We wanted the videos to promote the software and assist developers in building the application to understand how it should work.

How did you select this vendor?

I went through the process of selecting prospective vendors that had the appropriate skills, experience, and portfolio projects that were relevant to our project. I chose several to start on the project as a trial, then remained with Excited, as they delivered the best results.

We provided them with a project brief and came back with initial questions. We had a call to discuss the project and clarify any issues. We agreed on a set of milestones for the project which progressed as we went along.

Some areas needed more time than originally planned, and the deliverables therefore needed to be adjusted. We held catchup sessions most days to ensure the progress continued and the changes were in line with our expectations.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They understood the problem and prepared an initial design that was exactly what I was looking for.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our project manager was very easy to work with, clarifying and incorporating feedback without any issue. Our communication was effective despite the time zone difference. Changes to the delivery schedule were no issue.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their excellent communication and constant delivery ensured a great outcome.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Perhaps in the future when preparing videos, it would be quicker to prepare static designs, then animate them to increase the turnaround time. Other than that, the project was run very smoothly.

We looked at various freelance websites like Guru.com, Upwork and Fiverr. We shortlisted the Excited team after looking at their portfolio. We chose them after a conversation with Oleksandr (Co-Founder, Excited) where he asked insightful questions that showed their expertise. They also put together a very thorough proposal which was easy to understand and reasonable.

They put together an initial assessment within a week and reviewed it with me. They then spent another week creating recommendations to address the issues they’d found. I passed these recommendations to my development team for incorporation into the app.

I usually spoke with Oleksandr early in the morning and reviewed the updates and progress the following day. He is very flexible and his estimates are reasonable and close to the actual number of hours spent. We worked through Upwork, so most management was handled through a combination of Upwork and mutual understanding of the proposal.

On the second engagement, they created an explainer video to promote the product concept.

Although it’s not part of their services, it’d be nice if they could build the product in addition to designing it. Then, we’d only need them to do it all.
