What I was most impressed with was their reliability. Even with the distance (they are in India, we are in the US) Esco Logics delivered what they promised. Despite this being quite an expensive project for us, they have remained transparent throughout, and always delivered on the milestones, which built trust.

The only difficulty was about the time zone; we would have preferred more overlap with the EST if we wanted to schedule meetings.

We set out to make Mac software that worked great on the newest macOS, and made it simple for people optimize their PowerPoint files with a breeze. The idea was that essentially the user either selected or drag & dropped their files, and the software should just process them. One of the big hurdles was porting our C++ based engine (some Windows code as well) to Mac. This entailed dealing with multiple 3rd party libraries that either had to be swapped out or modified for macOS. We had a distinct idea of what the software should look like and how it should function to blend seamlessly with Mac's native Finder tool. This project was a kind of a proof-of-concept to see if Mac users would want the full-featured application.

Given that, as a software development company we made sure to prepare Esco Logics an extensive scope of work. This version included mockups of the screens, as well as preferred behavior and an exploration into what would be a deep dive to understanding how file-processing engines were working. We also prepared the regression test files so we can validate that version on Mac works as same way as our Windows software. Esco Logics basically just had to reimplement our specifications against the processing engine we supplied them and bring it up on Mac, dealing with third party libraries initimately involved. Our Windows app was the trunk of that tree, which we would go back to and root from repeatedly throughout our efforts.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It paved the way to create more just like Mac software which extended our product suite as a whole. It enabled us to reach out a fresh new part of our customers who were Mac only. The customers were ecstatic that they could now compress files in the same efficiency across both platforms. It improved the user-friendliness of our software, as well it was like an open door for cooperation with Mac-specific technology providers. This latest version of the software represents our fourth iteration, but adds a host of new features and supports more file formats – making it almost identical in capability to Windows. The success far surpassed what we ever would have imagined, and it has only been further internalized with the increasing value each year that our relationship with Esco Logics has brought.

Appster, a mobile app development company with locations all over the world knew how important researching and planning is before starting their project. Their research report detailed deliverables, costs and timelines in a clear manner. Even with specific details, they went out of their way to clarify the core features so that there wouldn't be any points left behind. They also kept in touch for the entire duration of development process, sending me weekly PDF updates and sharing files via email or using Google Docs. There was no delay in the project time frame despite a difference of zone having variance.

We started this project with a call in which we discussed the scope, needs, and budget of the work to be done. Esco Logics submitted a comprehensive proposal which, once accepted, we sat down with the entire team to break down all of the phases of development. They separated the process in 3 steps to make a smooth workflow and keep us updated. The website was built on a relatively basic template to help manage costs, however this still provides some great custom features that Esco Logics wanted. WordPress was used as the primary platform, which was selected due to its versatility and relative low cost.

I  set up a call with Esco Logics to tell them how frustrated I was and how my previous development team kept missing their deadlines. Esco Logics then prepared a detailed proposal following discussions on the status of project now and what I wanted to see in the next stage or increment. It also gave us a solid outline with milestones, rough ETA of feature launches and their initiative to fast track future dev work. The team used Slack for most of the communication and had a daily stand-up meeting. While I was not in every daily interaction, once a week updates and all of the remaining questions were resolved with me. Compared to my past experience, their organization and transparency was a welcome change.

Now I cannot speak to full blown business metrics as my company is still in the launch phase but can attest that development has changed DRASTICALLY. The product Esco Logics provided was of much better quality — I would say about two times as good as the previous company. And they did it in half the time. Their professionalism, efficiency and attention to detail was lightyears better than my previous experience did wonders for building a proper comfort in launching with such a good looking product.

Esco Logics managed the project well. Nutanix PR Team continues to communicate via daily stand-ups and Slack, Jira for managing this project. Because of this rhythm, everything was kept on track and there were constant iterations (and thus improvement) throughout their sprints. I was constantly kept in the loop, and if they needed any input from me whatsoever; boy were they on it. As this demonstrates a high degree of organization and transparency it meant that things could generally move along quite smoothly.

The team really impressed me the most. Honestly every single person that was working on my project with me as well where so passionate and professional, they were the best offshore team Ive ever worked upto now. They are really committed to making the project work, which was refreshing and went a long way in cementing this different approach from my previous experiences.

The team worked closely with us to infuse our brand vision and identity into the new site, while implementing user experience features in line with current web trends. Not only were they super focused on aesthetics, but the team also delivered valuable strategic advice for content strategy and had input into site structure to streamline navigation in order and enhance usability. Since WordPress is the CMS they opted for, this directly addressed the ease of future updates — which was a massive win in our corner as we actively push new content every few weeks or so.

The project was well thought out phase by phase, and we were getting the milestones completed with confidence that things are in the right direction. We started by collaborating on a content strategy and site map to clarify the vision, which Esco Logics then turned into specific designs. We had decisions on every part though, including your homepage to help subpage layouts obtaining everything most of us needed.
After we close to finish awhile a test site was pushed in their development server enabled us to watch the website rolls out and provide any fine-tuning. The final version underwent QA(movie_completed_workflow_test.rb) for them. The entire process flowed smoothly, and we crossed off every box on our checklist without any major setbacks.

Flawless project management from start to end by Esco Logics We at times had to reschedule our timelines on account of industry demands and strictures around formal reviews in different stages, despite which the deadlines were consistently met. They were flexible and accommodating every step of the way, fitting our own schedules in for us without sacrificing anything as far as quality or speed.
At each stage, any feedback that I was giving in the form of comments on my work was being done regularly — and never ignored. They even accommodated additional ad hoc meetings for further clarification or the occasional pivot. Most impressive, was the commitment to building a site that would serve not only our current but future requirements.

The thing that stood out to me the most was how Esco Logics really felt like part of our team. They were very thorough in the way they approached our needs, taking time to understand both what our business was and that part of audience we intended it for. There are so many nonprofits that would view their website as just another line-item on a checklist to get funding and an obligatory digital presence; the folks at Fall Co. took this new site sincerely — they made sure, with each design decision, we went back down into our brand even deeper — it was true ideological support around where we wanted to take things long-term.

What impressed me was how well our communication and project management styles meshed effortlessly. I have worked with different vendors on similar projects and this sort of thing just does not happen, so it was very nice to see our approach line up as neatly as Esco Logics did — everything ran a lot smoother because everyone operated by the same principles. Even thought different team members we involved through the process, there was no lack in quality and communication.
