I’m a tech consultant for Softlink Information. We deal with Graph Database as well as SQL Database. If we have a close customer who wants something apart from those solutions, we also offer software development services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Elite Mindz Pvt Ltd?

One of our customers wanted to develop an online travel portal. We engaged Elite Mindz for this particular project because we didn’t have that kind of expertise.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

As Elite Mindz has worked in the travel space before, we engaged with them to develop an online portal where a customer can see the number of available options for booking a cab and can place orders. There are 100–200 vendors, and the customer will be shown available luxury car options and vendor prices. They’re able to book through a phone call and an offline payment. 

Our client wanted to bring vendor data online so customers could see available deals from the vendors in the portal. They made the data available online and made sure it automatically refreshed to make updated data available through the portal. 

We started the project with a design discussion to identify challenges. They had to pick the data from different sources and bring it together in the online portal. We used different technologies to do that. The website was mainly developed using Node.js. We also used Postgres and other methods to retrieve the data. They also handled all associated API work to allow customers to pull data from the portal. 

What is the team composition?

There were 6–7 people from their team who worked on the project. There was one architect, who understood the customer's requirements and provided designs for implementation. Once the design was finalized, there were 2–3 developers who later engaged testers.

How did you come to work with Elite Mindz Pvt Ltd?

I worked with the CEO 15–20 years ago at another company. Elite Mindz has a very good reputation, and they have a very good set of past clients. I contacted them to see if we could use their services.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around $40,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in mid-March 2020, and the first phase of the project was completed in October 2020.

The customer doesn’t want to stop the offline model because it’s their core business, but once they have enough people reaching the website, they want to start on the second phase. We will engage Elite Mindz for that.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

On the metrics side, we were seeing 200–300 people on the platform when we initially started, and we’re now seeing around 700–800 visits per day, which the online portal is supporting. We’re not seeing any scaling issues as of now. If there are any issues that come up, they address them. On the quality side, our client has not faced any challenges so far.

The overall experience went very smoothly. Our initial discussions with them were positive, and they immediately engaged the team. It was purely time-focused. They prepared the plan and timeline to ensure they delivered based on our timelines. We didn’t have any hiccups during the whole process.

How did Elite Mindz Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered the project in good time. The project was complex, but they were able to deliver in only about six months. We used Jira to track the progress of the project. If we faced any issues, we reported that through the tool itself.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like their commitment to timelines and quality. Those two things distinguish Elite Mindz from other organizations we’ve worked with. We’ve seen challenges in the past with others when it comes to quality and timeline issues.

Most of the time, timelines are a big challenge when working with outsourced teams. If products aren’t delivered at the right times, it can obviously impact the business. Elite Mindz commits to our timelines, which helped our customer grow their business. That’s why we want to engage them in the second phase of the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s always room for improvement. We’re continuously sharing feedback with them about the challenges we’ve faced. They’ve corrected those challenges. They are doing well on the quality side and they focus there a lot. We did face some quality issues during the initial phase, but they made corrections at the right time so that we wouldn’t face issues when we launched the website.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When you’re discussing the project, share all the information you have with them so they can deliver what you need with high quality. You need to be open when it comes to discussing the project and how you want to implement it.

If the requirements are not properly met, there will be challenges. However, they will spend enough time understanding the requirements and customer standpoint to sort out issues early. In our case, the requirements were given thoroughly, and the product was delivered with high quality.

We wanted a system for onboarding our vendors hassle-free, rather than having to do everything manually.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Elite Mindz developed our web application based on the designs we provided, and they deployed it to our servers. The system allows vendors to enroll with us, list the products they want to sell, and make quotations and negotiate.

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact on their end. He was assigned to me after the previous person left the company.

How did you come to work with Elite Mindz Pvt Ltd?

They were already working with the company when I joined. All I can say is that it was definitely a good choice to have them come on board.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost is 200,000–300,000 Indian Rupees (approximately $2,700–$4,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

I joined the company in September 2020, but I believe that this project started in March of that year. We’re testing the platform with live vendors, and we estimate finishing the project in April 2021. Elite Mindz will be providing maintenance for a year-and-a-half after that.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have any metrics, but we’ve gotten very good feedback from the teams using the platform. It’s working as expected, and it was delivered before the deadline.

How did Elite Mindz Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated twice a week during the main phase of the project. We had calls over Hangouts and Zoom. We mainly used Zoom in order to record the calls and keep them for future reference. We didn’t use any project management tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have met our expectations very well. The product had multiple use cases and functionalities, and Elite Mindz has delivered on all of them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They usually made changes and fixes quickly, but they sometimes took more time than we wanted. It would’ve made things easier if they gave us exact timeframes in those situations.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I don’t have any recommendations as such, but Elite Mindz is a good firm to work with, and they’re cost-effective. They’d be a good fit for any company.

The team was very prompt and learned. They understood all the latest tech stack needed for this project and had a sizable ready for our project. They were able to take the project in very tight timelines.

The project consisted of a Backend web based School ERP being developer in PHP-Laravel and React JS as frontend. The second and bigger part was the custom LMS. Which was in Web, Tablet and Mobile environment. The mobile apps are in React Native. Mobile apps are for teachers, students and parents.
