I’m the owner of a coaching company; we do business and spirituality coaching.

What challenge were you trying to address with dk3studios?

We were looking for someone who could do professional photography for my website and social media.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Richard (Owner) was great! He had various sets set up with different color backdrops that we used and gave me the direction of what I should be doing in the photos, which is great because modeling and not knowing what to do can be awkward. He also had a nice light setup that seemed very professional.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Richard and a couple of his assistants.

How did you come to work with dk3studios?

I found them on Google.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent around $400–$500 per shoot.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2020–January 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The photos came out great, and there were a lot of details that I wouldn’t have been able to handle myself. The backdrops they have are also key to their service because it makes the photos pop with fun colors — they have the assets to make everything go above and beyond.

How did dk3studios perform from a project management standpoint?

They were professional throughout the project; they showed on time and finished as expected. It’s a quick process; the photoshoot took 1–2 hours, and the editing phase until the delivery of the photos took a couple of weeks. In terms of communication, we used phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a lot of equipment — I’ve never seen so much photo gear before! In addition to that, Richard was very helpful along the way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their location was a bit out of my way, but I know that’s not in their control. Other than that,  I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — everything was pretty remarkable, and they did a great job.

Any advice for potential customers?

Bring a lot of outfit changes because they provide you with enough time to try multiple clothing options. Also, give them an idea of what you want to do with the photos to give them an idea of what to do — website photos are different from social media photos.

I’m the owner of the San Diego Piano Academy, and we have six teachers working with us.

What challenge were you trying to address with dk3studios?

We had outdated headshots, and we wanted to update our websites with good, clean, and new photos of us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

dk3studios did some headshots for us. We were in their studio for a couple of hours, and we did 4–5 wardrobe changes, different backgrounds, props, and other elements we played with throughout the shoot. They’re currently editing our photos.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been only working with two people from their team, Richard (Photographer) and a photo assistant taking some behind-the-scenes photos of us.

How did you come to work with dk3studios?

I knew Richard from his other business — he’s a prominent videographer in town. His reputation and recommendations made me choose him and his studio for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $1,000 with them on this project so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve never had a dull moment in the studio; everything’s high energy, and Richard knows where to go, how to take the shots, and how to get different-looking photos every couple of minutes to keep things fresh and moving. They also have a wonderful green room to relax, have lunch, and hang out.

How did dk3studios perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a phone consultation ahead of time to map out the type of shots we wanted to get and the wardrobe changes we wanted to use — everything has been seamless when moving from one thing to another. Richard also made us feel comfortable during the shoot; he told us what to do and where to go to feel relaxed and be ourselves to get the best shots.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Richard is the best part of their company; I immediately feel comfortable and able to be myself when around him — that makes the project fun and effortless.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be clear on what you want; they’ll ensure that your expectations are met if you do that. If you don’t have a precise idea of what you want, they can do their best, but it will not turn out well.
