I’m an executive at a logistics SaaS company.

What challenges were you trying to address with Dirox?

We needed to improve the communication between stakeholders in the logistics supply chain, so we wanted to build a platform to provide those services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dirox has been providing web app design and development. We started by talking with them about our plans to outline a roadmap for our ideas so they could code the platform based on those requirements. The product is a web app with blockchain technology in its backend, which has Hyperledger Fabric technologies, and it’s for iOS and Android.

Regarding functionalities, the tool provides accessibility for everyone in the logistics supply chain and enables them to operate on a level-playing field through a subscription. It’s a way to digitalize and make processes more efficient.

What was the team composition? 

We’ve worked with Benjamin (CTO), Reynald (Product Owner), a project manager, a development team, and QA specialists — their involvement depends on the phase of every sprint.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a positive partnership with Dirox because they’ve met every milestone that we’ve set. Overall, they’ve been proactive partners, and we’re delighted with their work.

How did Dirox perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been first class with no issues at all. They’re also very communicative through Redmine, in-person meetings, and phone calls to ensure that everything’s on track and that they’re effectively meeting every delivery.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer support is their best attribute.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think they can improve anything; we feel comfortable and confident with their work and performance to reach our objectives.

Be clear with your requirements and stay in regular contact with them to ensure a good level of support from their end.

I am a VP in a financial services mid-size company specialized in providing software solutions to the global industry distribution market.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dirox?

We needed to find professional and experienced software developers, BAs and QAs to augment our existing staff. Dirox has been a partner in our ongoing projects as we move away from legacy systems.

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

Dirox was referred to us by a trusted employee who had worked with them previously while with another company. They payment structure, cost for value and their "trusted partner" oriented approach were all key factors in deciding to go with them.

They provided between about 7 additional staff members, 4 of which were developers conversant with Kotlin (backend) and React JS (front end). Their biggest strong suit is in always providing a top tier project manager who ensures work is being planned our and resourced appropriately with a focus on quality and on-time, on-budget delivery.

Describe the recruitment process in detail.

In our case, Dirox hired and performed all technical due diligence. Our team leads and/or principal architects then performed an additional fit assessment including English/French language skill test. Dirox has been open to receiving our feedback and working tirelessly with my team to ensure we get access to the best individuals.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is still on-going, however, with their help we have managed to accelerate the timeline by approximately 45-60 days.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

With the availability of team engagement and communication tools, we have integrated the Dirox team quite well. The time difference is always a challenge with remote workers but Dirox works hard to mitigate or reduce adverse effects through their team leads and project managers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to respond to our needs at lightening speed....faster that we are sometimes prepared for.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Perhaps finding people who are willing to work with a bit more time overlap with our team would be helpful even if it came at a slightly higher price point.

We found the Dirox team particularly receptive to our strict requirements in both front end and back end. Importantly their cost structure seemed pretty appealing to our operations.

Dirox is really dedicated to finding the best technologies to achieve our vision. They develop basic ideas to include new functionalities in mobile apps. Company was still working during Covid with little impact on projects.
