The Mastercharge application is a user-friendly mobile app that facilitates the convenient and hassle-free rental and payment process for power banks at charging stations. It streamlines the entire experience, ensuring that users can easily access portable power whenever they need it. Upon launching the Mastercharge app, users are greeted with a clean and intuitive interface. The app requires users to create an account or sign in if they already have one. This account serves as a centralized platform to manage rental history, payment details, and preferences. 

To rent a power bank, users can search for nearby charging stations through the app's integrated GPS functionality or manually input their desired location. The app displays a list of available charging stations on a map, along with relevant information such as distance, ratings, and charging station types. When users find a suitable charging station, they can approach the designated power bank rack. Each power bank within the rack is equipped with a unique QR code label. To initiate the rental process, users simply open the Mastercharge app and navigate to the rental section. 

From there, they can scan the QR code on the power bank they wish to rent using their smartphone's camera. Once the QR code is scanned, the app establishes a secure connection with the charging station and retrieves pertinent information about the power bank, such as its battery capacity and rental rate. Users can review this information and confirm their selection within the app. At this point, the app prompts users to authorize payment for the power bank rental. Mastercharge offers multiple payment options, including credit cards, mobile wallets, or even linked bank accounts. 

Users can securely store their payment details within the app for future transactions. After successful payment authorization, the power bank's locker within the charging station automatically unlocks, allowing users to retrieve the rented power bank. The app updates in real-time, displaying the remaining rental duration and the power bank's current battery level. This information enables users to manage their usage effectively and plan for recharging, if required. Once users have finished using the power bank, they can return it to any available locker within the charging station. After safely storing the power bank, they can finalize the rental in the app, which automatically stops the rental clock and completes the payment transaction. 

The Mastercharge app also provides additional features to enhance the user experience. These may include real-time notifications about power bank availability, personalized recommendations for nearby charging stations based on user preferences, and a rating system to evaluate the charging station's service quality. The Mastercharge application offers a seamless and efficient solution for renting power banks at charging stations. By leveraging QR code scanning technology, it simplifies the payment process, enables power bank selection, and provides users with essential information throughout the rental period.

Devstree's team managed to deliver despite technical surprises they didn't anticipate at the earliest stage of the project with very good professionalism and hard work. Only a tendency to send in test project files not checked before presented obvious part requiring corrective actions. As a result, it was a lot of back and forth to finish the sprints to close defects, yet once again they did it with high accountability and customer centric approach to get us satisfied.

Mobile App Development of an app that was supposed to be viable but it was not. They created a fantastic app in record time because I gave them a hard deadline. Also went through the process of uploading both Android and IOS versions, both are approved and live. They even added on another functionality to improve marketability to the cruise industry, without delay.. I intend to keep them on to update my app as it evolves.

On upwork. I decided to choose them because of their optimism to get this done efficiently and as soon as they possibly could. Although this project was complex because the only usable part of what gave them was usable and they basically had to start from scratch. Other app developers declined my ask or deemed it impossible to happen with my time frame restrictions.

The scope of the work unfortunately was massive, the previous developer app was trash. There is not anything I can describe how massive this project was. Most importantly, they delivered my project and more.

My app was completed in record time, he worked on it continuously and we met virtually when I deemed it necessary. Most didn't want to work on something that someone else started but they did not give me a hard time. I honestly was not the easiest person to work with because my overall deadline from the previous developer was not adhered to. They were extremely patient with me, no issues with language barriers.

Because this app was under very strigengen time frames, we most communicated via email and Whatsapp. I had no issues with management, anything I didn't understand was promptly addressed. Time

We were looking for assistance with our AR/VR facial recognition application. We needed help updating the coding and solving some other issues. We had worked with two different development partners before engaging Devstree IT and faced complications, so we were looking for a new vendor. 

The app is highly complex from a coding standpoint because it features new technology. The technology has been tested before and has worked, but few people have the skill set to handle it effectively. We needed Devstree IT to upgrade the app, make the resolution work, adjust filters, and have it properly track faces. We wanted them to upgrade and adapt our code based on our existing product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They were hired to ensure the APIs between Flutter and Unity worked properly, which required MediaPipe, OpenCV, and Unity skillsets. Our mobile app tracking was not in high resolution. We needed them to improve tracking on our mobile app and make it perform as well as it does in Windows.

They suggested we upgrade the OpenCV and Unity software on the mobile app to improve tracking. They started to update the code, and they reviewed the APIs.

We worked with three people: a developer, the owner, and another team member.

We found Devstree IT online. They reached out with an invoice before doing any work, and we rejected it. Then, we worked together and agreed that they would work for us by the hour to minimize the risk.

We invested roughly $500 in the engagement.

We began working with Devstree IT in June 2022 and cut ties with them in July 2022.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

First, they said upgrading OpenCV would take two weeks, but they constantly asked for extensions and strung us along because we were paying them hourly.

We asked them to upgrade the code, and they started to, but they were very slow. We asked them for a quicker turnaround time because they were milking the engagement, but they took eight days to review the APIs, which should only take 1–2 days. The code still had errors after they revised it. We couldn’t trust them as development partners. 

How did Devstree IT Services Pvt. Ltd. address the challenges that arose?

I kept asking for timelines and how long certain tasks would take, and they would respond by saying what they were going to do, not how long it would take. They didn’t address my questions or give me timelines. They would just work and continue to charge me, which wasn’t helpful because we had a certain budget. They said they could do the work, and then didn’t do it.

How was project management handled?

They handled the project horribly. Working with them has been a big mistake. We’ve wasted our time and our project is delayed by two weeks.

They used a time tracking system to communicate progress, and I could see that they were doing tasks slowly. Their online advertisement says it takes them 30 minutes to complete work that took two weeks. 

They had the code in their hands, and they should have been able to tell us how much time they needed and how much it would cost. They didn’t give us an accurate estimate.   

We typically communicated via Skype. They didn’t communicate well, and I had to chase them down to get status updates continuously. Professional developers check in with clients, and Devstree IT didn’t share progress with us. 

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

They have no strengths, in my opinion. I feel cheated.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Devstree IT could improve on everything. They could provide clients with time estimates and be honest about the time it takes to complete the work instead of stringing them along. 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I would advise others to screenshot the time trackers and diligently check them. Ask the Devstree IT team for separate quotes per requirement and the price of the full scope. Have them define precisely how many hours a task should take.

Devstree IT Services developed the app perfectly, and it’s already in the Apple Store. Since it’s new, we don’t have any metrics yet. However, I’m satisfied with the project overall. I would definitely work with Devstree IT Services again, including for Android projects.

They were great at project management. We had perfect communication using Skype messaging; they were available all the time even though we were in different time zones. We added our designers to the group chat so the Devstree IT Services could ask them their questions directly. They had great communication with our backend team as well.

Devstree IT Services knows exactly what they’re doing. I reviewed the code when they gave me the final version of the app, and it was perfectly done from a technical point of view. They understand software techniques and the design aspect of creating an app very well.

I’m the general manager and tech lead at Buddy Industries. We’re a digital media consulting and fintech company. We’ve created a nifty app with payments, a marketplace, and other apps within the more extensive app for multiple communities. What was the scope of their involvement?

We have a few fixed-term development contracts with Devstree IT Services for resources to work full-time, and all our other projects are project-based. Currently, they have their own development teams working on a gambling website and multiple other Android applications.

The gambling game is built on Unity; it’s a Bergmann roulette game. Customers can register, log in, and play it based on their tokens. Once their tokens are depleted, they can load new ones through a payment gateway. Also, if they want tokens, they can bid through a referral system to invite more people to play and earn some additional tokens.

On the other hand, we have a lot of APIs, backend, and Android development work. One of the projects is an Android TV application, which runs on any smart TV and allows to display content, video, images, and real-time notifications on the Android device. Another project is done with React Native. Although it’s pretty simple, it’s a massive project. Devstree IT Services integrates existing APIs and works with us in product planning, additional scope, and bug fixes. There are many modules and components within it, and most of them are based on Node.js.

We work with 4–5 developers. James (Business Development Manager) is our primary contact.

One of my colleagues found them. They reached out to him, and then he gave them and other companies a call to get some information on their services. The biggest thing that stood out was their attitude towards problem-solving. All the other companies made up excuses, but with Devstree IT Services, it wasn’t a problem. They were always trying to help us solve the problem instead of complaining that it couldn't be fixed.

We gave them a short trial with a small project and then another project. The consultants allowed us to draw them over the limit for a week, and we haven’t been happier since then. Also, one of the reasons we decided to go with them was the way James communicated with us. The second reason was the big pool of resources that they had available.

They test everything before they hand it over to us, and then we do severe testing with our internal team. Based on the requirements and scope we’d set up, we make sure that everything functions as it was listed. Also, we do other tests in terms of scalability and try to find issues that could alter the requirements.

Project management is excellent; James takes care of everything. They generally keep to their timelines, but extensions and additional requirements are part of the software development life cycle. Nonetheless, Devstree IT Services is always upfront with us if something will cause the timeline to change. They communicate it to us in advance.

We have our own project management tool, but we don’t share it with them. To communicate, we mainly use Google Sheets. We have a project template where we share non-verbal feedback. Also, we chat via Skype the entire day with the developers. With James, we also have a lot of Skype calls, which we appreciate because sometimes it’s good to have a verbal conversation.

Their communication and attitude are their two main outstanding qualities.

They can improve on documentation, but we haven’t had any major issues with them.

Have open communication with the team. If you don’t communicate your requirements practically and feasibly, they can’t understand what you need. Also, you need to follow up and continuously chat with them.

It’s a bit difficult to ask for improvements during the development process, because there are so many factors that influence whether or not the product works. However, from the initial experience point of view, they are doing a pretty good job.
