Please describe your company and your position there.

I work at NDA as the Chief Technical Officer. Our business specializes in creating CRM platforms and managing client communication platform.

For what projects/services did your company hire Deventor, and what were your goals?

We hired Deventor’s .NET developers to help us with trivial tasks, but as they got to know the project structure their role increased dramatically and they started making proposals on achieving high-level architecture compliance and fully leading all development processes, and managing the production environment.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was tired of the day-to-day micromanaging and discussed it with my college classmate and he recommended this company as they specialize in JS and C#/.NET projects.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Initially we had a 12-month plan to get to MVP, and then to a more mature state, but because of lack of resources and reasonable communication with seasoned developers we were at risk of doubling this plan. They also reduced human involvement in many manual operations, excluding human factor errors and reduced our production error rate to almost zero.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Our team consists of me(CTO), the lead full-stack developer, and seasoned part-time freelancers from South Asia we found on Upwork, However, the schedule with them for some reason was always unpredictable and that led to our plans always failing, and we had to spend more time on sync calls than actually working.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Ivan and Sergii not only became valuable assets for us from the technical and business side, but they are also great people to play poker with during the bi-weekly game team-building evenings (actually was their idea to do it, but I liked it as it added some soul to remote team workflow). Instead of spending most of the team time on fixing bugs from previous releases we now deliver most of the features planned for the sprints and gain real progress!

Guys from Deventor blended into the team smoothly. I believe they are interviewing/hiring candidates for us as they would hire them internally for themselves Communication is always enjoyable, and we didn’t see any ‘culture’ problems.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most amazing aspect is their extensive experience, accountability, and well-established workflow. They were always in touch and ready to solve any problems that may arise. We are now testing working with their product manager who is managing the team on their side, so I really need to be in touch with just one person on a daily basis (of course spring planning and retrospective meetings are held with the full team), and so far I like this approach as I can concentrate on business side of the product instead of micromanaging activities on daily basis. We have planned to add 3-4 more developers to the team in the next quarter and I believe it’s a cooperation for years, at least I see it like that.

I’m CEO of the Healthcare SaaS solution. Our solution provides software for the hospitals that covers billing and invoicing, care plan management, client management, insurance management, scheduling, visit verification, etc.

After we signed all the documents and they talked to our Team Lead and Product Manager, they came back to me with 2 people that could fit us. Josh, the Team Lead, approved them after 30 mins of talk, and it took 1 week for us to finalize all the paperwork and start onboarding the guys. After these 2 devs worked with us for 3 weeks and we saw that the team was happy with them, we gave our yes to fill other positions we had at that moment.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Deventor closed all 4 positions within just 6 weeks with almost no recruitment costs. Thanks to their help, we're now able to catch up on our technical debt and get back on track to achieving our expected team outcomes.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

We communicate mostly through emails and phone calls. I’ve been invited to Deventor slack space for clients, but I barely need it because small questions are solved by account manager, and when I want to discuss further plans of cooperation - I can always talk with Artur and Ivan through the phone.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their passion about their approach to small teams. I felt it on the first call, but ever since they were proving to me that they fully understand how things are done. While everyone is trying to sell you ‘cost efficient’ cheap developers, the Deventor developers are doing a really amazing job.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Deventor could have done differently?

Didn’t spot any, but maybe will see once we expand our account to 30-40 people.
