We do window coverings, commercial work, and high-end residential homes. We also do residential homes in our area.

What was your goal for working with Design Spinners?

We wanted them to do a website for us. Our website was a standard industry site. We wanted to be set apart.

They did a whole new redesign. We had our logo, but they enhanced it and also changed it from stock and expanded the design. She [Vani Sodhi Gundara, founder and creative director of Design Spinners] made the website mobile ready. She's also designing brochures for us and done our ads. We've taken our print ads and had her redesign them.

What was your process for selecting Design Spinners?

We did window coverings for Vani and noticed that she did this and we looked at her work, and it was exactly what we were looking for.

It was less than $10,000

When was the work completed?

We're on our third website with them. We have grown as she has grown.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

People in our industry recognize that visually our company is in the top 10 percent easily. As far as measuring metrics, I can't tell you. People come into our showroom, and they come in because they've seen us on the web and mentioned how professional it looks.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

We're very satisfied with all of their work.

Is there anything unique or special about Design Spinners that really makes them stand out?

They're friendly. They listen to what our vision is, and they are able to take that and transform what we say into something visual. They're very easy to work with. They respond quickly.

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

Know what you want and be aware. We know our vision best and if we can't communicate that to them it could make the process longer. They aren't there to create our vision. They're there to create the design we want.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

No. If anything, they have to wait for us for information to begin working.

What was your goal for working with Design Spinners?

We started with a Web presence and wanted to change things around a bit. We mostly worked on the design aspects of communications in the website – Web design and a good amount of presentation material, which is in the animation area. We had them animate a whole bunch of our user interfaces for software development. We support a large group of enterprise companies. It's critical to send the right message to these customers and their vendor management teams. They helped us with the messaging aspect. More on the design side of things less on the messaging. We controlled the messaging, but we did get their feedback on it.

Please describe the scope of their work.

We started with a relaunch of our website and a few other formulation strategies around the website with layout and design. Then, based on the quality of work they did, we pulled them into a software development phase where we needed a front-end UI [user interface] and mock ups for UIs. They weren't doing the development, but we used them to do the mock ups. Then, there were times we had to present to our customer base an animated functionality using the same UI to show them the flow of the application.

What was your process for selecting Design Spinners?

One of our employees found them on Craigslist. We were looking for a company that had a good reputation. They had a good story to tell, and it was convincing to us. It was exactly what we were looking for. We needed someone who could think through a process and deliver what we need. In what we saw on their website, we thought we had found a partner.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

It was between $8,000 and $10,000

When was the work completed?

We've been working with them a year and a half. It's ongoing work. We want to engage them in another project.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

We haven't had any specific metrics. They managed most of our work through Basecamp. They beat everything we had in mind.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

They're excellent.

Is there anything unique or special about Design Spinners that really makes them stand out?

They are very good at communication. They understood every aspect of design and what we're looking for. They would make recommendations. To have someone understand what we're doing is by far the best partner you can have. They understood and they translated that into design even better. I think, overall, it's an excellent company.

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

If you want to get the best out of them, I'd let them speak about their experience. For us, we knew what we wanted. That's where we started. We took feedback from them. That was a huge value to us. Have a clear idea of what you want because for any company if you don't know what you want, you're more than likely to delay the whole process.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

I would love for them to have an office in every city. We offered to have them move our way.

As a start up, we needed a new website, logo, design, you name it. The back end of the website was complicated with a scheduler snd a shopping cart. Vani snd her team did a great job. Their creative was too notch. They are “pros” ... always responsive and a pleasure to work with from start to finish!

Get it done right! Yes we had some challenges, but Design Spinners never gave up!
