I've had a relationship with their principal for 15 years. At one time, I was working in the sales department of another company for which DesignSpinners was the go-to vendor. They're professional, friendly, and offer great results. DesignSpinners under-promises and over-delivers.

Costs can vary drastically. Initially, we would spend $2,000 or more within a year, but we've come to spend the same amount monthly more recently.

I used to work with Vani [Gundara], the owner, many years ago at another company, so I've known her for 15-plus years.

It was less than $5,000 for this particular redo.

What were the results of the project?

The collaboration with them is still ongoing, and it's been great. They used WordPress to create it, so it's a little easier to make changes and edits, and it's scalable. So, it's been a good product.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

All of our salespeople and agents and so forth liked the finished product. It's a little more state-of-the-art looking – new technology. I've known Vani for a while, but I've just met some of her team recently. They've got a good tool for the project management and monitoring changes, updates, and all that good stuff.

Is there anything unique or special about Design Spinners that really makes them stand out?

Their creative team is really good. Vani has always been very good on the creative side and the technology side. So, when you bring those both together, that seems to be a good solution.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

They really were great. I really don't have anything negative from their side. I was the one that held up the project a little bit because I was providing content. So, they were waiting on me some of the times. I was never waiting on them.

What advice would you give a future client of theirs?

Just get your content ready and be prepared because they will definitely go as fast as you need to go.

What was your goal for working with Design Spinners?

We started with a Web presence and wanted to change things around a bit. We mostly worked on the design aspects of communications in the website – Web design and a good amount of presentation material, which is in the animation area. We had them animate a whole bunch of our user interfaces for software development. We support a large group of enterprise companies. It's critical to send the right message to these customers and their vendor management teams. They helped us with the messaging aspect. More on the design side of things less on the messaging. We controlled the messaging, but we did get their feedback on it.

Please describe the scope of their work.

We started with a relaunch of our website and a few other formulation strategies around the website with layout and design. Then, based on the quality of work they did, we pulled them into a software development phase where we needed a front-end UI [user interface] and mock ups for UIs. They weren't doing the development, but we used them to do the mock ups. Then, there were times we had to present to our customer base an animated functionality using the same UI to show them the flow of the application. 

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Design Spinners?

One of our employees found them on Craigslist. We were looking for a company that had a good reputation. They had a good story to tell, and it was convincing to us. It was exactly what we were looking for. We needed someone who could think through a process and deliver what we need. In what we saw on their website, we thought we had found a partner.

It was between $8,000 and $10,000

When was the work completed?

We've been working with them a year and a half. It's ongoing work. We want to engage them in another project.

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

We haven't had any specific metrics. They managed most of our work through Basecamp. They beat everything we had in mind.

They're excellent.

They are very good at communication. They understood every aspect of design and what we're looking for. They would make recommendations. To have someone understand what we're doing is by far the best partner you can have. They understood and they translated that into design even better. I think, overall, it's an excellent company.

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

If you want to get the best out of them, I'd let them speak about their experience. For us, we knew what we wanted. That's where we started. We took feedback from them. That was a huge value to us. Have a clear idea of what you want because for any company if you don't know what you want, you're more than likely to delay the whole process.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

I would love for them to have an office in every city. We offered to have them move our way.
