Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

This company should be avoided at all costs. They charged me an exorbitant amount of $1099 for a website that was unusable and incomplete. Moreover, they charged me $4680 for a 5-year prepaid hosting plan that was never even used. Despite their assurances of issuing a refund, I never received it. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and found out there were several complaints already.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Dealing with them was a complete disaster. They deceive and swindle you out of your money at every turn. They start by assuring you that everything is included in the package, but then gradually add charges for various items.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Design Genious Corp. could have done differently?

It's strongly recommended to avoid this "company" at all costs. Their business practices are extremely shady! They will accept your payment and offer substandard services with no quality control or customer support in the end. They have a tendency to be impolite and will attempt to extract as much money as possible from you. It's unwise to rely on their fabricated reviews on their website or Trustpilot. It's recommended to conduct thorough research and choose a trustworthy web designer instead.

We needed help with web design and development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Design Genious Corp. designed and developed a website for me from scratch. I proposed my idea over the phone, and they got back to me within 24 hours, as promised. I had already bought my domain from a different service provider for an online platform where users can find the top-rated or the best businesses in Canada. It has over 1,000 industrial categories so companies can add their businesses, and users can get access through one platform and search by location.

They're currently helping with putting an app in the Android and iOS market, and they also do social media marketing for me.

We work with 10–12 members of their team, including content writers, web developers, and server engineers.

I did an online search and found several web developers. I read the different reviews and chose Design Genious Corp. because their website was very informative. Within two seconds, they reached back to me, I told them what I wanted, and we took it from there.

We started working together in May 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They've gone above and beyond with their work; I expect at least 800 business users this year. Also, the website is straightforward, accessible, saves time and money, and is very flexible. Once users open the website, they know the business's nature and can walk through the options.

How did Design Genious Corp. perform from a project management standpoint?

The whole process has been very smooth; they use Teamwork where we could exchange our ideas effectively and on time. Also, since I started working with them, what I wanted was clear ahead of time, but because I don't know how a business website works, they always came up with new suggestions for me.

Overall, we have good interactions with them. We communicate via phone calls and chat through their website.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're the best of the best; they always go above and beyond, are always on time, and use the maximum resources to get whatever we need. Also, someone from their team is always available to find the solution to resolve our problems, and once we're satisfied, they'll talk about the budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing I'd have them improve.

I recommended people working with them; I've referred them to more than 15 family members and friends.

I already had a layout and a theme in mind when I approached Design Genius. I provided them with pictures that I wanted to be incorporated into the website, and they were all eyes and ears. Their team took care of the design and developed the site from scratch. It was a very cooperative effort in that I helped organize where I wanted the picture to be.

I’m satisfied with what they have built for me. It is amazing and has exceeded my expectations. The team has really listened to me.

They’ve stayed on budget and met deadlines. Despite our time difference and my tight schedule, it has been working really well so far. We go back and forth through Teamwork, but I always have the option to call, text, or email them when needed. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed by their effective communication skills. Their approach is one of involvement, so you aren’t left hanging like with most companies. I’m involved every inch of the way. For instance, they provided their own images on top of the ones I had given them, and they let me decide whether or not I liked those additions. They continue to make any changes that I ask for.

No, they’ve met my expectations and have worked very closely with me throughout the project.

I am very happy with everything Design Genius has done. They’re able to hold a very communicative relationship, contacting their clients on a daily basis and sometimes multiple times a day.

I’m the president of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that hosts events, including a yearly toy drive. During that event, we have kids' rides and entertainment to raise money for community members in need.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Design Genious Corp. took over our existing website and created a new design in WordPress. They kept most of the existing page content, including our about, events, awards, and charity pages. Design Genious Corp. also updated our donation page. We also paid for the SSL licenses to secure our website and improve our Google ranking. Design Genious Corp. also developed a new site dashboard. Once the redesign was complete, Design Genious Corp. began providing update and maintenance services, which they've been doing for the last five years.

The last part of the project is getting our merchandise store up and running, but I need to provide Design Genious Corp. with product photos. Most of our marketing is grassroots-focused, so we don't utilize Design Genious Corp.'s social media marketing services, although they've been offered to us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since our big event in September every year, we mostly see an increase in site traffic starting in August. So, because our website just went live a few weeks ago, we haven't gotten any user metrics yet. However, everyone in my organization is happy with the new design. The new design looks better and works well on mobile devices. 

How did Design Genious Corp. perform from a project management standpoint?

Design Genious Corp. delivers to our scope of work and doesn't add on any fees. I have Zoom meetings with my contact from Design Genious Corp., which are recorded and shared with Design Genious Corp.'s larger team. I get a text almost every day from Design Genious Corp. — their communication is much better than our previous vendors, which is very reassuring. We also use a project dashboard and emails to discuss the project. Whenever we have a problem, Design Genious Corp. rectifies it immediately. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Design Genious Corp.'s communication is better than I expected — they often reach out on Saturdays.

Design Genious Corp. has done everything we requested, and I have nothing for them to improve.

I'd advise customers to communicate their needs to Design Genious Corp. because their communication is great and they can deliver what customers need. Their teammates are straightforward with their pricing and services.

I am the founder and President of the Handicapped Scuba Association. Founded in 1981, the HSA has developed multi-level certifications that safely train and certify divers with disabilities ranging from amputees, spinal cord injuries, Paraplegic & Quadriplegic, brain injuries, autism, cerebral palsy, and more. We developed a training program for Scuba Diving Instructors that cover 12 disabilities types, equipment, training procedures and much more, in water training where they have their legs tied simulating paraplegic and quadriplegic divers, blacked out masks simulating blind divers. This program has empowered people with disabilities and their families worldwide. This is only possible using our interactive website.

They have been hired to first update our PHP coding, and then developed a new website. Our website has many functions in the logged in area that manage all levels of our certification programs, from Snorkeler to scuba diver, specially trained Dive Buddies, Scuba Instructors, and Instructor trainers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them on a Google search for website developers. When I called them the manager talked to me at length about our organization, he really listened to what we do. He liked our program and connected me with a project manager that was also interested in our programs. The prices for the multiple services is affordable. Another deciding factor was that they are building long term customers, this is a whole program covering development and an IP service.

Our PHP coding was way out of date and we were about to loose all of our backend coding that had been developed over a period of about 7 years. They updated the coding just in time. This took months. Then they began to develop a new website, which is still in progress. I want to stress that this is a very complicated website.

I work directly with the developer that has a team of coders working on the details of the website.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes, they were able to successfully update our PHP coding and fix a number of issues to make the logged in area much more functional. They have along side the update built a new website that is close to being launched. The new site looks great and the backend functions are very smooth.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We have Kevin Peterson for the project manager. He is in contact with me almost every work day. This very long complicated project has been very efficient between us and their team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication with us is very impressive. They have been solving complicated functions on our website. That, for me, is amazing.

None I can think of. We are very fortunate to have found this company.

We search the internet for a great company, and they came up. From Day one they have been responsive and tentative. They have the best prices in the industry. They say you get what you pay for but in this case that isn't true. They offer quality work across the board.
