Tausi Brands needed a robust website with multiple pages: Home page with video and carousel Our story with video Blog Factory tour with video Product page Landing page Collections page Individual product pages All had to be mobile friendly. This required extra coding to overcome the limitations of our Shopify store

Project management and communications are generally following the agile methodology, and the team uses Slack & Clickup tools for day-to-day operations.

Throughout the multiple years of engagement, we have seen the team grow and evolve, and at this point, we can confidentially say that any improvements or changes we bring up as needed and know they will be met.

The goal of the website was to create a reservation system for vacation rental home owners to post their properties for rent, and for vacationers to rent a home for their visit.

The site was developed using WordPress, and a rental plugin. They then added custom development to craft the look-and-feel of the user experience including adding listings, browsing listings, and the checkout process.

I'm the Production Coordinator for SEEN Dating. I handle logistics for filming along with day-to-day administrative tasks. SEEN Dating is a new dating app with a focus on "transparent" dating meaning users are able to see other users conversations, video chats, and audio calls. This cultivates a more inclusive, honest environment. We also have a group of Featured Daters on the app who participate in filmed dates.

Being a new app, our goals are continually evolving and expanding. Our soft launch was in February 2020 and now we're focusing on improving the user experience, debuting a redesigned discovery feed, and making plans to roll out nation wide.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app is constantly evolving! Our most recent progress is with a new discovery feed on main page. This will increase user engagement and retention.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our most used tool of communication is Slack. Having Andrew on various channels helps us immensely as he can weigh in everything from development to marketing to design. They respond well to feedback and I appreciate how we can always speak candidly about deadlines and needs.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really appreciate The Demski Group's willingness to shift quickly on projects and deadlines. Being a young startup, things can change quickly (and always are!) and Andrew and his team do a great job of shifting priorities quickly to make things happen in a timely fashion.

We're always looking for ways to improve communication and timelines! Recently, we implemented a weekly touch-base meeting and reorganized our project into different "sprints" with Andrew. This has helped things improve immensely!

When we started developing five years ago, we wanted to hit the ground running. We had a number of sources for development, The Demski Group being one of them.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ve been working with The Demski Group for four and a half years. They’ve built dozens of web apps and Android-based apps for us.

We currentlyhave 32 live apps right now that span multiple industries: reporting apps, donation apps, driver assignment apps, anything B2B. We focus on small and medium-size businesses that need a feature or function. Once I identify that need, we build an app for it.

What is the team composition?

I strictly deal with Andrew (CEO).

How did you come to work with The Demski Group?

I first came across their company on Upwork. They bid on one of our projects, and after a few phone calls, I felt comfortable giving it to them. Since then, we’ve done 20–25 projects together.

How much have you invested with them?

It’s been about $173,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We probably started collaborating in March 2016. We still work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re not a traditional app development firm by any means. My personal goal is to have an app that functions in the end. After I give The Demski Group my idea, I let it go until it’s done. I then test each part personally, and as long as it works, I’m happy. I’m not saying there’s never any bugs when we first launch, but I can bring those bugs to Andrew’s attention, and his team takes care of them.

How did The Demski Group perform from a project management standpoint?

I can’t comment on project management because I don’t manage each project. Once I have an idea, I reach out to Andrew to talk it through and figure how long it’ll take and how much it’ll cost. They then take it from there. I don’t micromanage, and I don’t set any milestones; I just wait for the end product.

We communicate over Skype, email, and phone calls. We tried some project software once, but I didn’t keep up with it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

After working with many development firms, I now funnel all my development to The Demski Group. First, they’re US-based, which makes communication easier. Second, they understand what I’m looking for and fill in the technical details that I can’t give. Finally, they’re very reliable. It’s also easier for them to review their own work rather than some third-party developer’s work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is partially my fault, but I’d like The Demski Group to double-check a particular function to make sure it works how I want it to work. There have been a couple of times where if they kept me up to date during the development process, I could have stopped them from building a function that didn’t match my vision.

Any advice for potential customers?

Take the time to go through how the final result will function. I don’t do that, but I probably should. It’ll save us time and money in development.

They built out the user experience in a video application so we can put an overlay in a video with emojis where we want viewers to emotionally react to the content. The team edited the overlay and harvested the emoji data. Then, we analyzed the emojis.

Our CEO hired Andrew in the past to create an electronic book.

We started working together in October 2017, and our work is ongoing.

They’ve been 100% successful. The team codes to our specs and there haven’t been any problems.

How did The Demski Group perform from a project management standpoint?

They meet 80% of the deadlines, but some of that is my fault since sometimes the spec wasn’t tight enough.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is just easy to work with. They listen, they’re business savvy, and they’re responsive. Overall, there have been very few surprises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. Sometimes we have a few wiggles with the downstream data implications, but again that’s a shared responsibility with the specifications. They fixed all of those issues at no extra cost.

My advice is to write specs. Don’t expect the developers to read your mind.
