The two other companies that responded to our initial inquiry - one of them gave us a quotation that was four times the quotation from the Dedicated Developers team, and another one was just painfully slow to communicate.

We tasked Dedicated Developers with creating a complete first version of our mobile app. We wanted it to be for Android and iOS and to have all the essential features for MVP. The features we wanted in the project were a user-friendly design, chat feature, user profile, store listings, flavor profiles, and sorting, filtering, and rating functions.

We also wanted an admin portal built with various options to control our app.

We were very impressed with the initial Blueprint process. It was great to have a solid plan on how the app would be built and exactly what features it would have. Truthfully, the Blueprint (a unique process that the Dedicated Developers team follows) was one of the things that sold me on choosing Dedicated Developers.

It made me feel better about the whole process – especially after that first bad experience where the other team didn't complete the app. I realized that the blueprint stage is crucial to a project like this. After all, if you don't have that process, how are you supposed to build something for somebody?

They then built our mobile apps for both Android and iOS, and they are now live in the app stores. Everybody at Dedicated Developers has been super communicative, keeping me up to date on the progress of our project. The designs in the apps look awesome; everything looks great. Excellent communication is what we've been most impressed with while working with Dedicated Developers. That was our big thing. We believe that to work with somebody; you need to be transparent, answer the phone, and get back to them as fast as possible.

I’m the owner of a tech startup that gives homeowners 3D graphics of their houses, interior, and landscape. Through an app, they can use the graphics when purchasing products and services for their houses, such as landscaping, remodeling, and similar things.

I wanted to envision the app and website that I had in mind; I wanted to know if they were even possible to create and how much I'd have to spend in the future to create them. Dedicated Developers helped me do this.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I underwent Dedicated Developers’ “blueprint process,” which was the first step into seeing where I needed to go and what tasks to tackle. After the blueprint process, we went to the design consultation phase, but we never got into the development stage. I could’ve told them to jump right into the development phase, but they helped me understand that we needed to finish the design phase first. It would’ve been hard to tweak the code if we didn’t work on the design. 

The main tools we used included PowerPoint presentations, where we went over some of the features the app could have. In this process, Dedicated Developers also showed me UI/UX design features that they could implement with their servers. They also showed me what tools we’d use in designing the app and website. Since we were a startup, I needed to get funding from investors. Given that, the team helped me figure out whether we could truly deliver a prototype to such investors.

I liked creating metrics to help me decide what route to take in terms of app and software development companies. Meeting those metrics, Dedicated Developers ended up being in my top three choices. Eventually, they won against my other choices.

My first metric was about whether they were legitimate. I looked through their portfolio of projects and made sure their businesses were real. In the end, everything checked out; the apps on their portfolio were real. The second factor was their experience. I looked at the programming languages they’d worked with; I knew a little bit about computer science myself, so I knew everything matched up. 

The third metric was their location. Fortunately, they had an office in Atlanta, Georgia. Since Georgia had an open tax code, I could look up Dedicated Developers online to verify them. I saw that they were real, and their office was truly located in this state. Finally, the fourth metric was their cost; their services were truly more available when compared to others with skyrocketing rates.

Our collaboration lasted from August–September 2021. I will be working with them for the development process, but I first need to get more funds.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The Dedicated Developers team was good, and they constantly helped me understand the project. Moreover, they often called me and asked questions I hadn’t thought about yet — this was one of the best things about working with them. On top of that, they labeled everything and truly understood what I wanted.

To communicate, we used phone calls and emails. We also used plenty of video chats. In fact, when I first visited their website, they offered a free webcam chat, and it was great because I could meet with them easily. It was like meeting them in person, too.

The best part of working with Dedicated Developers was their architect. I had a phone call with him, and he went through everything with me. I figured out some app parts by myself, but I also didn’t know about other parts. Given that, their architect asked great questions that I never even thought about before. The copy also missed several key selling features and did not clearly articulate the value of products.

• This copy was more suited for a print manual than a website. The Dedicated Developers team delivered phenomenal re-written content.
• The revised content improves tone and clarity so that it resonates with the target audience (Construction workers), while not being too simplistic.
• The copy is a more consistent, shorter length that invites the visitor to read the content instead of skip over it.
• The copy includes standard listings of features and benefits for all products so that they are quickly scannable by the user.
• The content is actionable wherever possible – for example, links are integrated into the copy.

The client is very happy with the revised content. In fact, it has already started receiving positive feedback from team members who are on the front lines interacting with customers, answering phones and processing orders.

The client reports a consistent uptick in online orders that don’t require a sales person to get involved. The client has most definitely received twice the value of its investment in just a short amount of time. The client cannot wait to engage the Dedicated Developers team to rewrite content for the remaining products on its website.

Our mobile application is a platform for ‘proximity-based triggering events, utilizing a user-facing, native mobile app and a backend website for system administration. There will be two main ‘types’ of these reminders. Reminder lists for stores, which can be shared among users & Peer-to-Peer reminders. Both can be geospatial based / activated. The app will allow its users to create, share, and maintain lists of items that they will be reminded of when in proximity to that store or user. All items available within the mobile app will be managed by the system administrator via a separate website.

We had an overall project manager, a UX analyst, a UI/UX designer, a web developer, an Android app developer and an iOS app developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been able to include a very large number of stores and products in our app that is far greater than other apps in this industry. User testing has been showing a very positive response which gives us the confidence that our app will be very successful when it launches officially very soon.

The overall project manager set us up on their online project management system. It has been great to be able to keep all the stages of our project. Our developers and designers have been keeping us up to date with this system.

They also are great at being able to take our feedback and implementing it quickly and answering any questions we have.
