We were working for a plumbing and heating business. They'd been in business for forty to fifty years and were using pen and paper for operations. As they grew, they started experiencing challenges keeping up with invoicing, work orders and so on. They consumed many resources trying to address this.

We were contacted in order to find a solution for streamlining their fieldwork. They wanted their employees to be able to track inventory on field, since there was a lot of miscommunication with their warehouse. This led to a couple of bad reviews.

We did an analysis on what we could do to automate their operations and came up with an iPad app that allowed them to do invoicing and check information. Their inputs would be sent to the company headquarters, and managers could see an overview of the company's workings.

Debut Infotech developed the iPad application, including the backend functionality necessary for tracking information centrally. This included features like tracking emails, working hours and so on.

When going through the requirements discussions, Debut Infotech made useful suggestions about what approaches we could have on certain elements. They went out of their way to ensure the development of the best version of our product.

The total cost was between $30-40,000.

The development process took six months to complete.

Could you share any feedback from this engagement?

Our client had a three month acclimation period with the software. After that time, they gained a good grasp of it and ultimately hired two more technicians to keep up with the increased business.

Cropdots is an on-demand marketplace to buy, sell, and share local produce. Cropdots enables vendors to provide the freshest produce, easily through technology, to a consumer base that cares.

I am the Chief Executive Officer of Cropdots.

Cropdots is a peer-to-peer marketplace app allowing people to buy/sell/share to other people in a GPS-restricted area relative to their mobile device. Pricing is set by the members and Cropdots handles many inventory, scheduling, and order management tasks.

Cropdots’ goal is to exponentially grow peer-to-peer garden networking and be the leading urban food sales platform for urban gardens and producers. Cropdots exists to enable urban gardens and producers to join and grow the local food economy worldwide.

I needed a mobile app agency who also understood the startup world and how to make the right connections to grow an app idea.

Debut built the back end solution API [application program interface] and developed the iOS app that I designed. The back end of the app is in Laravel/PHP with MySQL database and the app is written in objective c.

In the future, we will collaborate to develop the Software-as-a-Service structure for a web-platform extending Cropdots tools to larger operations.
