Da Vinci Studio - branch in Bielsko-Biala - designed, developed and launched the bluark website according the requirements; quick response time was one of the advantages, not to mention the most important in this case - concept phase and brainstorming sessions. The team has delivered all it's components including server support, configuration, etc. I highly recommend Da Vinci Studio

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Project itself, as mentioned, was a trial that unfortunately did not succeed. Nevertheless we've gain experience and lesson for the future.

PM was very good, directly we've created a team for the project via Slack - that vastly improved communication and problem solving.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

to prevent issues during design and launching phase we've spend a lot of time with the whole dedicated team. We had argumentative discussions that really impressed us, always to the point. They've asked the right questions - what is not that obvious in many cases.

creating more structural action plan after meetings would improve the overall outcome

They were selected based on interviews with 7 other software houses and their CTO and team demonstrated best quality and approach.

They were responsible for building the application from scratch, both back-end and front-end. Apart from IT 'hard skills' DVS proved to be able to lead the project and suggest best methods of work. I was improved with the constant drive for optimisation and automation - and in case of DVS it wasn't just empty words.

What was the team composition?

The initial team was 4 core persons + 2-3 additional ones (graphic, UX designer, tester, etc.). Occasionaly additional people were onboarded, to complete specific tasks. It was all managed in efficient and professional way. With time, development needs reduced but still we depend a lot on DVS development and support.

Well, DVS had substantial impact - they've build the app from scratch. Everything was high-quality and done in an efficient manner.

This is a very strong quality of working with DVS - project management. Frequent and structured updates and reasonable number of tools used to make the project efficient.

I’m a project manager for a program for helping individual players, parents, and clubs with learning the soccer methodology. We mainly organize camps during holidays and at the end of them, we choose the best players and reward them with trips to famous clubs for trials.

What challenge were you trying to address with Da Vinci Studio?

We initially went to them to host our website and to develop software for our camp participants.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Da Vinci Studio developed a dedicated web portal for player enrollment. It takes in all the player information that we need. After working on that, we had Da Vinci Studio create software for the Polish and Ukrainian markets which is aimed at individual coaches and clubs. It’s a paid software and it presents our entire training philosophy, training sessions, a soccer library, articles about training and the mental aspect of the sport, etc. One very important part of the software is a tool for measuring a player’s level through the use of a graphic chart that takes their age into account.

I believe one of the coding languages used is C++. They also developed a smartphone application for both Android and iOS platforms. 

What is the team composition?

I’m not sure how many people were assigned, but we were mainly in touch with Wojciech (Owner & CEO, Da Vinci Studio), who assigned the work to his employees. When he was unavailable, we’d get in touch with one of 3–4 other people, depending on what we needed. I’d say there were around five people involved.

How did you come to work with Da Vinci Studio?

My boss was in charge of hiring them. Our previous provider left us and we weren’t able to find anyone new. While we were searching, someone introduced my boss to Da Vinci Studio. They understood our views and philosophy, which is why we didn’t look at any other companies.

The website was a simple task, and I think many other companies could’ve done it, but we were also thinking about the software for coaches and clubs at that point. It was and still is a huge undertaking, and many of the people we approached about the project didn’t understand it correctly. Wojciech understood what we wanted to create from the beginning and gave us a lot of good advice from an IT perspective. Secondly, we chose them because of their portfolio. They were working with many other companies, and all of those gave them huge ratings.

How much have you invested with them?

I wasn’t in charge of the financial part, but I believe this project is at around €100,000–€150,000 (approximately $111,305– $166,958 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Da Vinci Studio in December 2015, and the collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software we’ve made might be too largescale for clubs, however, Da Vinci Studio told us when they thought a feature was unnecessary. In general, we’ve done a good job and even the people in an international football association told us this when we showed them the software. The tool we’ve created gives them a lot of options in the training area.

Overall, the collaboration with Da Vinci Studio has been positive and we’re happy about how our products look. Right now, everyone using our software appreciates it and we haven’t received any bug reports, which means that we haven’t had to call Da Vinci Studio to fix anything.

How did Da Vinci Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Da Vinci Studio gave me access to a tracking tool where I can check the status of the development tasks and see who is responsible for each one. It made it easy for me to check the status of the project. Their team also used this tool for internal communication, so if someone there needed more information about a graphical element, for example, they could ask about it there. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The collaboration has been great from my side. If I have a problem or don’t understand something, they always explain things clearly. This is very important for me as a project manager since I don’t understand a lot about IT solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They should be stricter with us at times, as we tend to have our heads in the clouds and come up with too many ideas. However, Da Vinci Studio tried to create everything we came up with. They could’ve let us know when something wasn’t worth it. Wojciech was always trying to do everything we wanted, and he should’ve said no at times.

Thanks to Da Vinci Studio’s support and readiness to invest in our relationship, we were able to accelerate work on our product and attract the first customer to choose our sourcing system.

The project is still ongoing. Da Vinci Studio’s project manager is supportive and demonstrates a high level of expertise.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They quickly understood our specific business requirements and were eager to complete the partially developed product. Da Vinci Studio continues to participate in meetings with our customers and shares helpful ideas.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

Their portfolio showcases a variety of interesting products. I wish I'd known about all of their services earlier, as this would’ve allowed us to expedite the work.

There were a whole bunch of projects. Da Vinci Studio took over the WordPress-based system from the company that used to service us. They created many landing pages for us (e.g. Mutti, Kikkoman), then lotteries where customers registered their receipts and won prizes. 

Another major project was a system for GDPR - Vinci RodoBox, which fully optimized our organization's data management process from the many lotteries we regularly hold. Importantly, Vinci RodoBox allowed us to fully automate this process and operate in compliance with GDPR regulations.

With such a large amount of personal data (reaching tens of thousands) and marketing activities carried out on a large scale, it was extremely important to us that the chosen solution ensure consistency between multiple distributed systems. This is what the tool proposed by Da Vinci Studio Software House provided us.

We hired Da Vinci Studio to create an application aimed directly at agricultural producers.

The goal is to facilitate access to the excellent resources of knowledge offered by the Central Research Center for Cultivar Testing (CRCCT), which is an annually updated list of varieties recommended in specific regions of the country for winter rapeseed, spring rapeseed and soybeans.

The application was created with funds from the Oilseed Crop Promotion Fund at the initiative of the Polish Association of Oilseed Producers and in close cooperation with the Central Research Center for Cultivar Testing.

All information about the presented varieties comes directly from the varietal recommendations of CRCCT and the application is intended only to facilitate the producers' access to this information, additionally helping in the decision-making process about the selection of a variety by enabling comparison of varieties recommended in a given province due to an interesting feature.

We didn't have any internal development team, so we were looking for a company that would understand our vision and help us realize it. From the beginning we were able to find a common ground with Da Vinci Studio. They understood our needs and presented an idea for their implementation. In addition, their offer was very attractive.

During the first meeting, we presented our idea and established the scope of activities. The next step was mockups created by the UX designer. In the next step, Da Vinci Studio moved to the development phase. We finished the cooperation with end-to-end testing and adding the app to App Store and Google Play.

We worked with a React Native Developer, a UX designer and a Tester. A Project Manager was in charge of our project, who showed great commitment allowing the team to move forward faster. In summary, the project team we worked with consisted of 4 people.

Thanks to the commitment of the Da Vinci Studio team, an app for agricultural producers was created in a short period of time and it fully meets our expectations. It can be downloaded on Android and iOS (App Store and Google Play), making it available to anyone who needs it.
