We recently partnered with Aaron and his team at Cymbol to re-design our corporate website, transitioning it from a basic Wix template to a fully updated site that truly reflects the values and brand of our company. We had a significant challenge for them: delivering impressive results within a tight 30-day timeline (before a major company event) and within a specific budget. Aaron and his team not only rose to the occasion but exceeded our expectations. There were only a few times where you could see Aaron was stretched a bit thin regarding phone calls.  Its just something that happens with a growing business.  However once we caught up he was always polite, very open and honest, and did everything he could to help.

We hired them to develop our website and strategic branding. Our objective was to appeal to our target audience. Additionally, I wanted to focus on running my business instead of having to do every step of the website by myself.

We started with a conversation with Cymbol so they could get an idea of our goals. Based on that, they came up with a brand strategy that involved our ideas about the colors, logo, and fonts aligned with our objectives. Afterward, Cymbol developed a strategic plan with all the essential elements.

They worked on that design process until it was approved. Then, they designed the website and introduced us to technology like Loom, Zapier, Canva, and everything they used along the way.

Finally, Cymbol laid out a workflow on how the integrations would go and how to review all of that. The last steps are looking at the mock-up, making changes, testing the site, and launching.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although we’ve just launched, we’ve seen an increase in traffic. We’ve also gotten positive feedback on the website; people have gone to the site commenting how beautiful and easy to use it is. Overall, Cymbol’s work is top-notch.

How did Cymbol perform from a project management standpoint?

We work together and are able to see what’s happening every step of the way. Moreover, Cymbol has delivered on time, sometimes even earlier. They’re collaborative and patient with us when things slow down due to our fault.

Most of our communication is through Trello, but we also use phone calls, emails to follow up on various issues or give more detail, and Loom videos to make comments.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Having a single point of contact is vital to us, and Aaron has made himself very available. He answers questions, ensures we understand what’s going on, and understands our goals.

They were also upfront with the strategic process. They laid the groundwork to achieve our objectives. Additionally, Cymbol has educated us on many things we didn’t know and has been informative about the management and updates of the website.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any suggestions for them. We’re 100% satisfied; they’ve done an outstanding job.

When I began working with Aaron noble and his team at Cymbol, our primary objective was to design and launch a website where I can send my fanbase, update them on my performance schedule, and collect fan data to notify them when I have upcoming shows or new releases. 

Aaron and his team did an exceptional job building my site and developing strategies to communicate with fans, but the beautiful thing about working with Cymbol, specifically Aaron, was his desire to go above and beyond expectations. He developed marketing strategies, attended some of my shows, helped me with merch, engaged with my social media and helped me develop a financial plan. I would reccomend any individual who wants to build and scale their personal brand to work with Cymbol.

Cymbol uses Trello as their project management platform. It's a good tool that communicates objectives clearly. Unfortunately, the timeline wasn't spot on, but that was partially my fault. Deliverables couldn't be met because I didn't complete my part on time. Their response time was fantastic. They usually got back to me the day of, if not the hour of, on business days, and even on weekends.

Cymbol, specifically Aaron, went above and beyond to help me build my brand. He came to my shows and promoted me to his friends. He helped me develop strategies to get people to my site, and much more. His approach is systemized, and efficient, but also personal and thoughtful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Cymbol could have done differently?

Some kind of accountability tactic that could help the client stay on track would be helpful. I am a busy person, and as a musician, finishing tasks outside of the creative realm can be stressful, but I also work well with teams, and having some kind of accountability system would have made the project more efficient.

We currently have a condominium project in the works. Still, we needed help with creating a website for that project to push content, draw attention to it, and get sales, so we hired Cymbol.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cymbol helped us build a website for our condominium from scratch. They started with the basics, which included designing the brand and developing a logo for the project. Although we already had an idea of what we wanted, they helped us bring it to life. Then, they developed the website in Wix.

As for the website main features, Cymbol made that every page of the site started with a different picture displaying the project and the nearby areas. They also incorporated a couple of slideshows, which went well with the project.

Although Cymbol also offered hosting and maintenance for the site, we decided to do it on our own. They also offered SEO and marketing services, but we already had a sales team in place.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The layout of our new website is really nice and appealing to the eye. Everything blends very well together, so we’re very happy with the result. Although we launched the site very recently, we’ve already seen a couple of interactions with it. Given that we haven’t even started promoting the site, those interactions are a good sign that the site will perform very well.

How did Cymbol perform from a project management standpoint?

Cymbol was very flexible and communicated well. While working with us, they received a lot of different inputs. Still, they truly understood the process and were great at listening to our needs. Additionally, they implemented the changes we requested in a timely manner.

Cymbol was great at managing our budget as well. They delivered a very complex website, so for the price we paid, we’re very happy with the result. As for collaboration tools, we communicated via Zoom for our calls, and we used Markup.io for edits and revisions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cymbol’s main strength was their ability to make ideas come true. They did a great job at listening to what we wanted and helping us bring it to life. Obviously, we didn’t have the skills to build this website ourselves, so they were able to do things we had just envisioned.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any constructive criticism for Cymbol. They were great all around.

Ensure to have your content ready and know what you want; it will help speed up the process. Cymbol can do so much with what they have, so you need to provide them with what you want them to add to your website.

The site that Cymbol delivered was amazing — its designs stand out more than other websites I’ve seen.

How did Cymbol perform from a project management standpoint?

From the beginning, our partnership was amazing, and Cymbol was very professional. The CEO was very active throughout the process; he kept me informed on everything that was going on. Being able to communicate directly with him was amazing.

Moreover, we stuck to the timeline perfectly. The estimated timeline was to deliver everything within 8–9 weeks; however, Cymbol finished in seven weeks. As for collaboration tools, we used Trello to communicate and manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked Cymbol’s creativity. Compared to other web designers I met, Cymbol’s designs were outstanding.

I didn’t see any weaknesses in Cymbol’s work; they performed very well.

If you’re looking for a web designer and branding specialist, work with Cymbol. Look at other companies to compare, but once you talk to them, you’ll probably choose them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cymbol?

I wanted to address three challenges with this project. Firstly, I wanted an updated website with a more contemporary design. Secondly, I wanted to create a video of the problem we were trying to solve. Thirdly, I needed a more contemporary slide deck. Therefore, I approached Cymbol to help us address the three challenges.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cymbol developed a website for me and produced a video that explains the problem I’m trying to address with my platform. They also designed the slide deck I now use for my presentations.

Initially, I sent Cymbol some websites I was interested in, and they did some research on their own. Then, they interviewed me for an hour to get a clear idea of what I wanted, both from the video and the website. After that, they built the website in Wix from scratch.

The explainer video that Cymbol created was animated. Given that the problem I was describing was complex, they first took the time to gain a good level of understanding about it. For this, they took my existing slide deck and input to create the script. Then, I reviewed the video and requested some changes.

Aaron has a very interesting and engaging marketing process. He initially reached out to me via LinkedIn, and I talked with him about my needs to figure out if he could help me out. What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together in November 2022; it took them two months to complete the project. After delivering the website, Cymbol gave me a 30-day warranty. However, I recently contacted them, and they still supported me, even though we don’t have a maintenance contract. Additionally, we’re discussing a UX design project for my platform going forward, but we haven’t started that project yet. I hope to engage with them once again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Cymbol created very contemporary designs for my site and slide deck, making them very visually pleasing. Moreover, the video they created was very good. Overall, the end products were in line with what I originally wanted.

I measured the success of our engagement by the quality of their work, their level of understanding of the problem, and the accuracy of how they captured all the pain points. Cymbol was successful in all those metrics.

How did Cymbol perform from a project management standpoint?

Cymbol made the process very simple; I would give their project management a great score. They created both the website and the video in a two-week span with very little interaction from me. Initially, they offered to use some project management tools, but I told them that it wouldn’t be necessary due to the project size. Instead, we had direct communication via email, and they sent me the video to iterate on it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with the quality work that Cymbol produced in a short time. They were very fast and committed to delivering a great product.

I can’t think of anything Cymbol could improve on.

I don’t have any particular advice. As long as you can articulate your problem, Cymbol will help you solve it in a short span of time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cymbol?

Firstly, we needed a new website design. Our former site looked nice, but it wasn’t reflecting our current and future services properly. Secondly, our logo hadn’t been updated for 6–7 years, so we needed a logo redesign as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cymbol has taken upon our former Wix website and completely redesigned it. Initially, they worked with me on the brand strategy and design because, although we had already done some work in that regard, they wanted to capture our vision going forward. During this process, they helped me rethink our vision, value statement, and target audience.

After the brand strategy review, we worked on the logo design and color palette, looking at various options to choose from. As a result of this process, they provided me with a brand guideline that included the colors we could use and multiple variations of the logo.

Then, we went into the website design to define what the process would entail and how the site would ultimately look. Aaron (Lead Designer) provided me with a user flow diagram he and his team created so that I could show the board of directors what we would add to the site and what we would change, as well as to give them a clear idea of its look and feel.

Later, Cymbol provided us with a link to see a mock-up of the site for everyone to get a better understanding of the new site. During this process, they also helped me find a new domain name that would better fit our needs. After developing the site, they were also in charge of testing and QA. We recently launched the site, but Cymbol is still fine-tuning some things, seeing if everything works properly, and providing us support for any additional questions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

When I first looked at our new website, I had to double-check what I was seeing because I couldn’t believe how beautiful and amazing it was. It really captures the message I want to convey, which is a huge success. Additionally, it is very streamlined, and everything is easy for users to find.

Our site has been so well-received that people from our mailing list have already started signing up for it and downloading a new e-book we just launched. Overall, I’m very pleased with their work; it is simply amazing.

How did Cymbol perform from a project management standpoint?

Cymbol has been excellent at meeting deadlines and staying within budget. We initially divided the project into four stages, and during each step of the project, we had strategy sessions. Throughout the development process, we had multiple meetings to review everything they were developing. They’ve guided me from beginning to end, steering the project in the right direction and answering all of our questions to take us further than we ever imagined.

We use Trello to manage the project, where I can request changes and set up tasks and deadlines. Additionally, we still have frequent strategy sessions via Zoom, and we communicate via email and text messages. One of the great things about working with Cymbol is that my entire team has access to their team; they’re very available.

Cymbol offers impressive attention to detail. A great example of this is that they approach website redesign by first going into brand strategy. In addition to that, they’re very organized, which helps me stay organized myself, and their expertise in web development is excellent.

No, I can’t think of anything they could improve on; they’re very good.

Cymbol is going to give you direction and guidance, but you will need to do your homework. Take the time to think about what you want and be prepared for the strategy sessions. Additionally, be engaging and give them feedback about hat you like and dislike because Cymbol will move forward based on what you tell them.

We communicated back and forth and set up basic operations to manage the project as they developed our website. Before launching our project, Cymbol resources spent more time going over possible edits necessary before the site goes live. They also created branding guidelines for me.
