Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The developers from Cyfrania explained that my app was written using Google Apps Script, a poor choice of technology that could cause unavoidable slowdowns, and failures, and also limit the features I wanted. We explored the options, but I opted out of a full rewrite as my budget was almost gone.

Therefore, Cyfrania launched the app as it was, in just two weeks. As a result, I received an app that uploads CSV price lists from my suppliers, automatically converts them, and posts item listings on the Grailed marketplace, plus an admin panel to manage prices and manually fix errors when needed.

After that, I contacted the developers multiple times due to technical issues, and they proactively proposed a full modernization project for my app, which involved switching to a full-featured PostgreSQL database and using efficient Node.js and Nest.js tools. The upgrade was scheduled for just one week and was implemented with my approval.

In the next phase, which took two weeks, the developers connected the app to the supplier’s ERP via an API instead of using CSV imports, which is a more convenient and reliable method. They also enabled the automatic posting of my products on the Closo wholesale trading platform.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I was able to use the app to list my products on marketplaces and earn money, including for further improvements to the app. After the modernization, there was a huge difference in the app's reliability and ease of use.

The Cyfrania team was more than responsive. I could reach out directly to the developers and the account manager at any time to clarify all the technical details that were initially a bit challenging for me. They also took the initiative to contact my original developers to try to understand the root of the issues. 

The work was always completed very quickly - much faster than I expected and definitely quicker than my first team, and with much better quality, which my first team didn’t deliver.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Right from the beginning, it was obvious that this company operates at a high level of professionalism. They promptly figured out the root problems and, most importantly, resolved them. They were proactive in suggesting improvements to the app, which made it more convenient for me, and those tips were very useful. I also appreciated their flexibility with budget management and their ability to adapt to my financial limits.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Cyfrania could have done differently?

I’m thankful to this company for their much-needed assistance, and my experience with them was entirely positive.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Cyfrania carried out research and recommended Next.js as the best choice for achieving our main goal - SEO optimization of the website. 

Subsequently, a team of two developers gradually built a basic US-oriented website, incorporating key functionalities like a homepage, a product catalog with filters and a search bar, and product pages with dynamic content generation based on user actions. This version of the app was launched 12 weeks after the development began. 

In the following phase, one developer created regional versions of the platform for Canada, the UK, Australia, Belgium, and the Netherlands, which took 3 months. Over the following 3 months, a single developer built a custom inventory management system and migrated all six regional websites to it, moving away from WooCommerce.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since release, most web pages have held a Google performance score between 80% and 90%, surpassing many of our competitor sites. Web pages were rapidly indexed after launch and have achieved high rankings in Google search results across a growing range of keywords. The platform is experiencing exponential traffic growth, approximately a tenfold increase since the beginning of 2024.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

I maintained direct communication with each developer almost daily through calls and text exchanges on Slack.

Deadlines for global and ongoing tasks were set collaboratively and strictly adhered to by the developers, except when extensions were needed due to valid reasons, which we always discussed and approved in advance.

I was highly impressed by my developers' dedication, as they proactively and tirelessly sought out and proposed more efficient and cost-effective solutions for my tasks, many of which were quite unconventional for web development. I had a complete mutual understanding with the team, and we worked very quickly and productively.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The engineers' high level of professionalism gives me confidence that there won't be any issues with the platform's reliability. Second, I appreciate the direct communication with any team member, without intermediaries. I can explain my vision directly and get feedback from the developers who will be implementing it. And third, as I mentioned, the team's dedication is remarkable. They don't just complete tasks mechanically - they constantly seek ways to improve things on their initiative.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Cyfrania could have done differently?

The team always delivered excellent results when provided with a clear and detailed description of what was expected. My only regret is that I couldn’t always offer this clarity due to my involvement in other projects. In those cases, I asked them to develop a basic feature based on their vision, so I could later test it and suggest modifications. This approach wasn’t very efficient, as it often led to some rework.

We might need to collaborate on finding a better approach to solve this issue in the future.
