What challenge were you trying to address with CyberDuo?

Our concern was effectively protecting our patients’ information from potential cyber attacks. Additionally, we wanted to make sure that we were storing information properly, complying with any relevant regulations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When they came on board, they replaced our server and made many suggestions on how to improve our business from a cybersecurity standpoint. We were having issues with our computers as well, so they added more equipment to mitigate our network issues.

How did you come to work with CyberDuo?

The owner of the practice was referred to their services by a friend who had a positive experience with them. We decided to give them a try and have been happy with them ever since.

We spent about $20,000 on the equipment upgrade, $3,000–$5,000 on minor upgrades on an ad hoc basis, and about $30,000 each year on their general services to us.

We’ve been working together since January 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After they made upgrades to our server room, we stopped having the tech issues that we were having before. We are 100% confident in our security capabilities, giving our team complete peace of mind.   

How did CyberDuo perform from a project management standpoint?

Oftentimes, I need to get in touch with them while working from home. They’re always available to solve problems with us, even on weekends. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’ve worked with past providers that haven’t always replied to us in a timely manner. We’re very happy with their communication and response time. They’re always available to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re always working to improve, and they actively search for solutions that will benefit us. I can’t think of anything for them to improve at this moment. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Take advantage of their 24/7 availability and knowledge. We’re not experts in IT, so we relied on them for recommendations. I’d suggest that other companies take advantage of their knowledge in the industry.

I’m the general manager at SSR Motorsports. We’re a manufacturer and distributor of power sports equipment, so ATVs, dirt bikes, on-road motorcycles, ATVs, and electric bicycles.

What challenge were you trying to address with CyberDuo?

We wanted a standardized IT within the company because we grew pretty quickly. I initially handled the IT, but as we grew, it became too much. We needed newer, more sophisticated equipment. As we considered IT support, we knew that we didn’t need a full-time team member, so we looked to find an outsource partner and chose CyberDuo.

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we first started with them, they worked with fifteen workstations along with any kind of supporting equipment, such as printers and devices. They also handled two servers.

Initially, they were focused on security and were going to make sure that every computer was up to date on licensing and anti-virus software. Then they upgraded the firewall. Once they set up that structure, they continued to maintain it.

On top of that, they’re our primary technical support. So instead of coming to me, my team can go to them when they need help.

Most of what they do can be handled remotely, but they come on-site when needed. When we have new equipment, they come to our office. One time, the server failed and they came on-site to fix that on the same day.

What is the team composition?

Over time, about three people have touched our project. At the beginning, Kevin (CEO) was very hands-on, but the main person handling our account is Victor (Senior Engineer). We worked with someone else briefly to support Victor.

When it comes to looking forward and planning the future, Kevin (CEO) is always available for a consultation. He’s always able to suggest how they can help handle things going forward.

How did you come to work with CyberDuo?

I found them through a Google search. We contacted a bunch of different companies for quotes. The biggest deciding factor for us was value and attention to the customer. Most companies that we considered weren’t a good fit for us. Some showed their service offerings, but they weren’t very flexible. For some situations, their response times were 24–48 hours, but that would halt business for us.

CyberDuo, in comparison, was more attentive.  We were working with their CEO directly, and at the very beginning, they promised that they would pick up whenever we called. If it’s something they can handle quickly, they’re able to help right away.

How much have you invested with them?

It started off pretty low cost because it was just the managed service, but we’re looking at a few new projects. It’s probably going to be over $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2017 and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

My time freed up significantly. No one needs to come to me because CyberDuo is able to handle it. The fact that everything runs smoothly is a big improvement for us.

How did CyberDuo perform from a project management standpoint?

There have never been delays. At certain times they’ve said that they’re busy and have asked to get back to us, but if it’s rushed, they’ll get back to us.

They keep us up to date on what they’re doing and they take care of any problems. There were a few times when they noticed that our equipment was hacked, and they noticed that right away. They notice a lot on the backend that we’re not aware of and are able to resolve it. They also communicate well and are super responsive. We can reach them over email and phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been impressed by their responsiveness and how easy it is to work with them. They bring a lot of value to our company. Price-wise, they’re excellent. I can’t imagine that we would get better service from a more expensive IT support provider.

They also have a lot of resources. For example, they partner with equipment companies, so they can get us better prices when we need new equipment.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not so far.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let them know everything about your IT. Tell them all about your troubles because they can be trusted. Other companies sometimes look at all of those problems and will take advantage of that by increasing their pricing. CyberDuo won’t do that. They’re very honest partners.

I’m the director of operations at St. Francis High School, an all-boys Catholic private school.

What challenge were you trying to address with CyberDuo?

Our IT director left, so we hired CyberDuo to fill that void for us. We wanted to make sure that our network and infrastructure when it came to technology were secure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

CyberDuo proposed a plan to set up monitoring software so that they could see our network and security at all times from their own location. They provide 24-hour support to make sure that there are no threats or issues.

In addition, we were not able to access our backup server due to our IT director departing and not giving us that information. So, they proposed a plan to install a new backup server and also migrate us toward the cloud backup, which was extremely beneficial. They've continued to do additional monitoring.

I mostly work with Victor (Senior Engineer) and Kevin (CEO). 

How did you come to work with CyberDuo?

I searched on Google, and after digging a little deeper, I felt that CyberDuo was the right fit in terms of the size of their company. We’re not a huge organization, so I knew that they would understand our needs, which they confirmed in the initial conversation. They visited our site and server room, which we also liked.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $3,500 per month. The backup server and the cloud migration were an additional $7,200.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in June 2020, and we plan to keep working with them for the foreseeable future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They not only set up the outside monitoring of our system, but they also shared it with me so that I could see for myself. From early on, CyberDuo built a system that they knew we would be comfortable with. They made it easy to prove that they were doing what we needed them to do.

How did CyberDuo perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is fantastic. Victor and Kevin are responsive to text, email, and phone communications. I get a response usually within a couple of minutes. Our internet actually went down recently and I received a phone call from Kevin about a minute after. The team is available 24 hours a day if needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

CyberDuo catered their model to what we needed, which is outstanding. They initially proposed a much wider scope of work, so I went back to them and told them that it wasn’t what we were looking for. 

They then completely custom fit it to what we needed. Some things have come up that have been outside of the scope of work, and we offered to compensate them for their additional time right from the start, but they've actually done a lot of that additional work free of charge. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I wouldn’t change a thing. Their business model is excellent. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t go with the initial package that they think might fit your business and really take your time to explain your needs. 

CyberDuo will custom fit what you need, but, as with every company, they will try to sell you the highest model of the outsourced IT needs, which you might not always need. They're so easy to work with, so just have an open conversation with them about what your true needs are and they will fit them.

We’re a large nonprofit on the west side of Los Angeles. We’re a church community and have an after-school program, a public coffeehouse, and a food pantry. We also live stream content, events, and programs. I’m the director of operations.

At our coffeehouse, we have 40–80 patrons using the wifi at any given time. At the same time, we have 30–40 students in our after-school program using the network. We also have an administration team that uses the network. We had complications with our network for years, which negatively affected our operations. Our IT support found a full-time position, leading me to pursue CyberDuo.

What was the scope of their involvement?

CyberDuo initially spent hours learning our entire environment. Their team then created a simple list of components that they purchased for me. They then went into our environment to upgrade us cost-effectively. Their team then pulled cables and updated components to improve our network and make it reliable, fast, and safe.

I primarily communicate with one person. However, there may be more people behind the scenes.

We needed our network to have incredible security and reliability. However, we’re a nonprofit on a budget. I conducted a comprehensive search and found CyberDuo. Their website and responsiveness stood out. They spent the most time with me on the phone and didn’t give a sales pitch. Instead, their team was authentically interested in what I needed.

We’ve probably spent $8,000–$10,000 on their services so far.

We started working with them in March 2020, and our partnership’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was immediately impressed by the way their team analyzed and processed our environment. Since they started, we haven’t had issues with our network. As we used to always have issues, that’s a striking result.

We had a significant power outage. As soon as that occurred, they let us know and fixed the problem. Now, we have confidence in the system. I don’t have to worry about a catastrophe and can focus on other projects.

How did CyberDuo perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through phone, text, and email. I could call them on a Saturday at 6 p.m. and they would talk to me for an hour. They’re constantly available within minutes. Their knowledge and availability are remarkable. I feel like they’re on staff and take their role seriously.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They set a whole new standard of customer service for us. Their team’s protective of our environment in a proactive way. CyberDuo doesn't try to sell us anything; they own the project in a way that’s above and beyond. I don’t say this lightly: they set a different standard.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It requires vulnerability to show a vendor everything because it could cost money to show them the bad components. However, I’m glad that we went deep with them. Lay it all bare because CyberDuo won’t take advantage of your position. They don’t have a hidden agenda, so trust them.

We moved to a new location and were in need of IT services — advice, setup, and maintenance.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cyberduo advised us on phones, servers, and computers and how to use them and set things up. They installed all the hardware and set the whole system up for us. The phones were a big part of it; they allow for transferring calls between employees.

They maintain our website, manage CRM, and handle security. One of the features they did on the website was to allow customers to make inquiries online, and we receive it in our email.

I did a Google search. I liked their location and the positive reviews they had.

The project began in June 2019. It’s all setup and running now, but we are still working together. They provide maintenance and support.

Everything works well. It’s very convenient having Cyberduo take care of everything. Before, we were having to manage it all ourselves, dealing with different companies for different things. I have no complaints.

How did Cyberduo perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything is done on time. They’re quick to fix any problems, like if the phones aren’t connecting properly to the server, which isn’t their fault. I usually don’t even have to wait a full day to have it working properly again.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very trustworthy and work in a timely manner. They care about building long-term relationships, not just booking clients. They work to give detailed advice and assistance.

We paid a great amount of money for not great services with our previous IT provider. We had issues with the Internet going down and as a doctor’s office, we can’t have that happen. It caused frustration for both the staff and the physician.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

CyberDuo inspected all of our equipment. When they first started with us, their team came onsite to look at our firewall. They presented their findings, which included the key problems and steps for how their team could make our Internet better and reduce our costs. Their team also did all of the ordering.

Now, most of their work is done remotely. Their team looks into issues when the Internet goes down. They explain concepts to us in ways where we can understand them. When issues can’t be solved remotely, their team comes to the office and fixes them.

We asked other practices about which companies they used for their IT services. We narrowed down our choices to two companies. What made CyberDuo different is that they looked into our network and presented solutions. Their team did a lot of the legwork, which helped. We were able to meet them at their monthly rates as well.

We started working with CyberDuo in February 2018 and our work with them is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They were honest about how they could and couldn’t help us with our Internet problems. Our team’s happy with their work. There’s a little bit of downfall but they’re able to fix problems as they arise. Our Internet doesn’t go down half as much as it used to.

With the pandemic, their services have been more helpful than ever. We’ve never worked from home, so it's new to all of us. Their services have been 100% since we started remote work.

They perform well. We’ve had time-sensitive matters and their team responded with great ideas that we accepted. CyberDuo takes the time to look into problems and tell us what we need.

What did you find most impressive about them?

CyberDuo responds and fixes our problems in a timely manner, which makes them different from other providers. They’re honest and specific with their recommendations. I’m happy with the recommendations that their team makes for the company. They’re knowledgeable, so they have all of the answers.

Our previous service provider didn’t handle our IT well and our internet wasn’t great. We have two remote locations that had to wait 30 minutes to open an invoice. We needed a company that could respond quickly and provides solutions.

CyberDuo is our IT support. They initially assessed our infrastructure and communicated its status. Then, their team developed a plan to not only resolve our issues but also move us forward. For example, we’re looking forward to moving our server to The Cloud and streamlining our programs. Their team helps set up new programs, maintain servers, and create email accounts. Whenever we need help, their team helps us.

Our challenges with our remote locations require a time-intensive solution. To resolve the issue temporarily, CyberDuo showed us another way of remoting into the servers for those locations. The speed at which our remote locations can open invoices improved a lot. They help us to stick with the plan and moving us forward to become more electronically savvy at our company. Their team’s great at helping us.

How did CyberDuo perform from a project management standpoint?

Their turnaround and response times are fast—within 15 minutes to an hour. CyberDuo usually resolves any of our issues within a day, which is important because we can’t wait for issues to be fixed in our industry.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their response time sticks out. With our previous provider, we waited for days to get a response and then still had to wait for our issue to be resolved.

No, not from my experience.

Give them an opportunity to complete an assessment and see the status of your servers. Their team will be honest and help you make a plan. Trust that plan.

We had some problems with our computers because a virus got into our network.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They came into our office, looking for the source of the issue. It turns out that the virus got into our system through an email. We had cybersecurity issues that needed to be fixed. After about two hours of work in our office, they told me the problems were solved.

Our systems began to work and function correctly again. They fixed our estimating system. At this point, they provide full IT support. They manage our centralized database, which has helped in opening up new locations. When we changed our phone system, they’ve provided phone services to handle that transition smoothly in our two main locations.

As long as everything is working in our office, we know that they’re doing a good job. If there is some issue, they have quick reaction times. Oftentimes, they can correct problems remotely, so they don’t even have to come into our office. The work has been well-received on our end.

They were very responsive. There hasn’t been a time that I’ve called and they didn’t answer. My problems are always solved very quickly with them.

The goal we had is to have secure enviroment for all our digital assets inside our building.

I worked with CyberDuo before and they have built our Firewall systems.

Describe the project in detail.

When we hired CyberDuo we had an urgent need to check our IT environment. They came in and started immediately. They have collected and conducted network security assessment, they went through the whole infrastructure to make sure no device is missed. After collecting enough information they started to create policies and procedures. They came up with the strategy which included but not limited to penetration testing, social engineering and other technics. Now they actively monitoring the network and making sure everything is secure before the launch.

We have worked with Brian (project manager) and Nick (security analyst).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Having CyberDuo as a partner gives us peace of mind, and as a result, our systems are well protected which is a huge deal these days.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was working with the project manager. I'm able to reach him anytime during business hours. All the issues are addressed immediately. I like the reporting they have.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive is their response time. When we have a question their project manager is available right away.

So far so good. Can't think of any areas.
