We’re a company that was creating a mobile grocery app. I’m the creator of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubix?

They’re providing a mobile app solution that’s different than anything currently in the market.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re supplying logos, designs, and development for our proprietary grocery app. The final solution will be available for both iOS and Android. 

What is the team composition?

I work with Adeel (COO), and he’s overseeing the entire project. There’s a team of six employees working behind the scenes. 

How did you come to work with Cubix?

I found them on Clutch. Most of the other agencies I reached out to were not as responsive as Cubix. I was shocked that I had trouble getting responses from others, but their communication was strong from the beginning. That encouraged me to hire them and was one of the best parts of bringing them onto the project. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $78,000 to date. The entire project will cost us $86,000 in the end. Payments were made after they completed a certain phase of the app, which worked smoothly. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked with them since September 2020. They are intending the complete the project by March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very satisfied with their work so far. They’re great with communication and answering any questions we have. We ran into some hurdles that delayed the project a little bit. They were able to diagnose the problem and help us temporarily switch gears to a more manual process rather than an automatic one. I was very happy with how they worked through that problem.  

How did Cubix perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of my communication goes through Adeel, and he coordinates with the rest of his team. If I have direct questions for them, they can address that too. We’re communicating on Slack and Zoom. Whenever I reach out to them, they get back to me within about 10 minutes. They managed each phase of the project well and each team member thoroughly understood their place in the development process, whether it was the logo, design, or build. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Communication is superior, and a key characteristic of their team. They quickly answer our questions and always get back to us. There hasn’t been a single communication-related frustration over the course of our entire relationship. Their communication skills really pushed the project forward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communication is key with them. The more detail you can give, the more explanation and clear planning you’ll receive back. If you have everything ready for them, they’ll be responsive and answer questions to the best of their knowledge. That’s what I did, and we’ve been very satisfied. Their team is there to listen in jump straight into the project with you.

I'm an english-Indonesian interpreter at Insvire technologies, a technology based start up in Indonesia. I was assigned a project to develop anonymous social media but since I had a little knowledge of app development I searched for vendors until I met Cubix.

In 2017 I started developing an anonymous social media app with a developer based in Melbourne, but the project has to stop for they went into liquidation by the end of 2018. So I decided to look for the other vendor to continue the project. In 2019 I contacted Cubix to handle the project, we start everything all over again from scratch and hoping it is ready to launch in 2021.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal is to develop an anonymous app that is secure, interesting and sustainable so the youth can express their thought and moments through contents without fear of being judge. We also want to see our mobile app engagement and downloads is continually raising by the end of this year. we also need the mobile app to be easy to update on our end, so we were interested in simple, user friendly platform.

How did you select Cubix?

My team searched online for app developers and compiled a list of 5 based on the case studies on their websites. we contacted each company and narrowed it down to 2 after receiving their initial pitches.

It was a hard decision, but we selected this vendor based on the quality of their final proposal, their willingness to train our team on how to interact with the app post-launch, and their price point, which we felt was very fair, turned out Cubix passed our criteria after considering the price, developments stages, portfolios and technology they use.

Once we selected Cubix, we had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. Within the first two weeks, we send cubix mockups and designs for the iOS and Android apps. The Cubix came back to us with wireframes and concepts for our other sections in the app.

initially I was assigned a project manager to support and serve as the main point of contract throughout the project. I only spoke with our project manager, but I was made aware that there were other developers, as well as a QA resource working behind the scenes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

So far we're satisfied with the app, we're still preparing for the official launch and hopefully, we can hear positive feedback on the usability, flow, and look of the app both from potential customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

the project manager that I was assigned was easy to communicate with provided us frequent updates. we connected over skype whenever there's updates or new queries. overall I was impressed by the timelines of the team. During the development, I had some time to pause the development for one and many reasons but Cubix is always welcome to continue.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

i was blown away by the knowledge that this vendor had about mobile app development, UI/UX, and optimization. We learned so much more than we thought possible, and we appreciated that they were really patient and thoughtful while we came to speed and pause for a long time.

We used to work with the other web developer, but this was such a collaborative and positive experience. I would certainly engage with this company again for any mobile app needs that we have in the future.

Are there any areas for improvement?

everything can always be done faster, but we were very satisfied with their work. in the end, quality is more important than speed and we ended up with a beautiful product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are in the process of launching, but have received good initial feedback from the game during testing. We are satisfied with the artwork specifically, and the gameplay is smooth.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We mainly used Slack to communicate, as well as through email and occasional phone calls. The development team is offshore in Pakistan, so there was a time zone difference and some communication gaps. However, the development team has been responsive and open to feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

There was a strong focus on quality and meeting customer needs. As long as the requirements are well defined, the development team was quick to deliver.

The project is almost done , Their were some challenges due to the restriction, and other external factors that affect the project like other project, but, Thanks to Cubix and our team, we have overcome those challenges and it can be said that the project is a successful one , and shortly our application is going to be available

the project manager , and the other staff members was really helpful and supportive , The communication with cubix was easy , and we had many progressive meetings , Cubix Always give us the alternative option that are their and recommend the right option based on remarkable reason and experience

The impressive thing about Cubix the communication skill between the members of cubix and with the client. The way they dealt with difficult situations and challenges impressed us.

We designed a rewards app and we hired cubix development team to build the app in react native.

The goal was to build a backend server, CMS, backend app and front end app along with QA the app. after launching the app, the goals shifted to working in weekly sprints to develop new features and optimize the app in its evolutionary state.

we had daily standup calls for about 30 mins in which we would go over the roadmap of what was priority and necessary in the upcoming releases. in parallel we would discuss bugs, server configuration, app designs and development strategy to ensure we were understanding of all scopes of the project and what we need to do to meet our deadlines.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

we started our venture and Boodle was the first rewards app to show proof of concept in its MVP state.

the app performed well and the team adjusted to make critical integrations including tracking, segmentation, CMS capability and optimizing the way we served offers in the app to our consumers.

there were several times where we crept features into a sprint and cubix adjusted to get newly introduced tasks done before the deadline.

the PM was very hands on, reactive and proactive when necessary and was always willing to gather up all troops for quick meetings and clarity on any feature we were building.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

the company is in karachi pakistan and in that region there were monsoons, covid-19 and other disasters where the people of the city faced many out of work obstacles.

The team was always willing to stay late, come in early and make time for us even with these obstacles and the time difference. they were available and always remained focused no matter any adjustments that were made.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes we would try to fit a lot of features in one update and instead of finishing features we would split them into separate updates.

So when they noticed that there may not be enough time to finish the entire project, they had solutions to come up with releasing features in phase 1 and phase 2 which helped to rollout parts of the feature in phases,.

Cubix was brought on from day one and has been directly involved in the conception, development and production of our mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

Our short term goal was to create a Covid app specifically designed for the filming industry. Our long term goals include expanding its features, it's reach globally and customized for other industries within 12 months.

How did you select Cubix?

They appeared to be experienced in app development with lots of other clients. They also were the most engaged, asked all the right questions and seemed the most interested and vested in the idea which meant a lot to me. I always believe in working with people who believe in you.

Describe the project in detail.

We began with building a prototype based on the concept of what we wanted to accomplish and through a series of mock up and wireframes, was able to find up with an aesthetic and flow that was consistent with my vision.

As we moved into the development phase for the functional app, they also built the website with an informative homepage and an entire administrative portal to be used with the app. The created pitch videos and will continue to assist me through the beta phase with updates and improvements until it is fully launched by the end of the year.

I work directly mostly with the project manager and team leader who run the team of engineers. They have been indispensable in conveying the concepts that I wanted to create and resourceful in finding ways to execute the functions that I want. I also communicate directly with my account manager who keeps me updated on progress of the milestones and handles the financials of our contract.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are still in preparation for our beta launch, but this far, Cubix has successfully met the deadlines laid out. I expect that we will reach a successful launch and be able to reach our projected revenues to continue growing our company early next year!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow and communication has been excellent with regular meetings and discussions. They have also been easily accessible and responsive with my questions and concerns along the way.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The speed at which they are able to work has been impressive from day one and that is a vital part of my satisfaction with this company. Developing a Covid app, time is of the essence and I feel that they understood the importance of a quick launch.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There were some technical issues in setting up the domains and hosting, as well as trying to sync business emails which turned out to be a more complicated issue than it initially appeared to be. They are in the process of being fixed. Otherwise, I am very happy with everything that has happened every step of the way.

We were looking for an e-commerce website, their team suggested us a Magento website and briefed us about it. They were quite helpful to make us understand the whole process following our goals. The development process started in a smoth way and they always clear us things on each stage. The moment the project went live, the impact was clearly visible for everyone through the positive reviews and daily traffic. Customers were happy to sroll on the website easily and the one page checkout made the while story much easier towards a happy ending for the customers.

Project management was awesome as the manager completely provide us with each and every detail whenever and wherever we wanted to. He was a humble and helpful person all the time updating us in details throughout the process. Hence the project got completed within the said time frame.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubix?

We were looking for something to differentiate our company because the fuel marketing business can be dull. We wanted a competitive edge over others in the industry by engaging with our customers more.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cubix developed an app and desktop software for us, which are tied together in the backend. Their team integrated our launch program and a payment gateway into the system. They host the whole of our service and provided us with an admin panel to manage the platform ourselves.

The process allows users to register, login, and manage their passwords and security. The system is a gateway to all of our services, connecting physical fuel cards to our automated system. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager, a developer, the CEO, a VP, a customer support operative, and a designer from Cubix. Over 26 people were engaged in creating the backend of the system.

How did you come to work with Cubix?

We floated a tender, which they participated in along with 16 different companies. One of my colleagues had worked with them in the past and their proposal stood out the most so we decided to work with them.

We have invested around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Cubix began in April 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was impressed with their performance, they tackled every aspect of the scope. Our teams had high-quality discussions. They come into every interaction with positivity and experience. Cubix gave us something bigger than the scope we had imagined. They come up with really creative ideas and are always willing to give more than is required of them. Overall, we had a great experience.

How did Cubix perform from a project management standpoint?

Cubix set up a process of project management from the beginning. We used Basecamp to communicate, although they are now switching to Jira. Our teams also held weekly phone calls to follow up on the project. Every two weeks we have a build for the mobile app that we can reflect and comment on, which is useful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The high-level management at Cubix is very supportive. They really jump on projects and make sure they’re done right. We got a high level of support, which was very important to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While it wasn’t a big issue, they work from a different time zone so there were four hours of the day we missed out on working together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I was heavily involved in the process because I’m a perfectionist, but whenever I gave them space they were more creative and more productive. Try giving them space, they’ll do wonderful.

Chopt is a food delivery startup that allows people to order homemade dishes from other users. As the CTO, I oversee all of the technical aspects regarding our platform’s build and scalability as the business grows.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubix?

We relied on Cubix to build an MVP of our delivery platform. Since we didn’t have the luxury or latitude to hire local software developers, we sought a more cost-effective solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Cubix developed the MVP of our food delivery platform from the ground up. We provided them with a detailed scope of work, and they built out the wireframes and technology. The solution consists of an iOS app, a web app (React frontend), and an administrative backend (Node.js). 

Our main demographic focuses on people who don’t want to eat out because they’re concerned about ingredient quality or preparation methods. Through our app, they can order homemade food from other users and have it delivered fresh.

What is the team composition? 

There were about five resources working on the project in different capacities.

How did you come to work with Cubix?

We were looking for a technical partner that both understood our vision and had the skill to deliver on it. After a quick Google search, I found Cubix and went over their portfolio. They’d been around for a while and demonstrated a wide variety of work, which was a good sign that they weren’t just a one-hit-wonder. That, combined with their affordability, was all I needed to get going.

The project cost around $150,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work lasted from February–December 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re currently trying to raise funds and market our solution to users, so the app isn’t live yet. But, our team felt that it was pretty well-built. The architecture, quality, and overall look and feel were solid.

How did Cubix perform from a project management standpoint?

The team did fairly well. The product manager would give me weekly updates. Whenever there were issues, they were quick to listen and respond. Timelines did slip a bit on a few milestones, but it wasn’t anything major.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For me, the single take away of working with Cubix was that we got good value for our money.

No, nothing comes to mind, right now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Having a good understanding of your vision and being able to communicate that clearly to their team are important. They’ll run with that and do pretty well.

Coastal Games, Inc. aims to bring high-quality entertainment to the mobile game market and currently is developing its first iOS game. As its Founder and President, I seek to find the best talent to help bring this game to market.

For what projects/services did your company hire Cubix?

Mobile games for iOS platforms require technical expertise to transform ideas into functional user experiences. With only an idea for a game and a few spreadsheets for the game economy, Coastal Games, Inc. was lacking the right talent for building the game's code and art assets. Cubix was hired to fill the gaps in my company's talent and help develop that idea into an early prototype to show the game's potential.

What were your goals for this project?

My company was looking for a firm to help develop the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of a game to help facilitate funding rounds. This project required an understanding of game mechanics, the ability to rapidly produce game assets based on changing requirements, and constant communication with my company. This MVP would go far in securing investments into my company's future.

How did you select this vendor?

Great care was taken to select a company with both the competence and experience necessary to bring this idea into fruition. After searching through client reviews and business evaluations of multiple firms, Cubix was selected to head development. Their pricing and ability only inspired more confidence in the choice to hire them.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Following the guidelines of the Game Design Document (GDD) I provided, Cubix developed the basic art assets and game screens necessary to show the scope of the game and its potential for success. The resulting MVP follows the game mechanics of the GDD and is an excellent view into how the game will play once launched.

Cubix provided a large development team with a dedicated project manager with whom all feedback and suggestions were discussed. My company's specific needs on this project led Cubix to employ an agile method of development to rapidly employ any suggested changes to the MVP.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Already, investors have marveled at the art quality and intuitive game design displayed in the MVP. Given more time, I am sure the MVP will go far in securing the necessary funding for further development.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Client interaction with Cubix was streamlined and effective. Using Skype to facilitate any necessary communication, project goals were discussed, altered if necessary, and accomplished with minimal delay.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Cubix's ability to rapidly prototype projects based on constant input from the client is very impressive. The quality of the final product and its adherence to the client's specifications are excellent.

Are there any areas for improvement?

While working with Cubix, there was very little that seemed to need improvement. The only suggestion I could offer to future clients is to ensure that the updated versions of GDD's or business plans are provided to all necessary individuals/teams to avoid project delays.
