How did you select this vendor?

We heard about Cubix from different sources and the positive reviews we came across over the internet. After careful consideration and some closed sources recommendation we decided to hand over the project to them and they never let us down on any milestone of the project.

We were looking for an e-commerce website, their team suggested us a Magento website and briefed us about it. They were quite helpful to make us understand the whole process following our goals. The development process started in a smoth way and they always clear us things on each stage. Cubix built custom Magento Scripts & integrations as well as customizing our theme to meet our requirements. 

What was the team composition?

The team consists of a project manager, magento developers, designers and content writers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The moment the project went live, the impact was clearly visible for everyone through the positive reviews and daily traffic. Customers were happy to sroll on the website easily and the one page checkout made the while story much easier towards a happy ending for the customers.

I am the digital manager at Oman Oil Marketing Company, a fuel retailer.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubix?

We were looking for something to differentiate our company because the fuel marketing business can be dull. We wanted a competitive edge over others in the industry by engaging with our customers more.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cubix developed an app and desktop software for us, which are tied together in the backend. Their team integrated our launch program and a payment gateway into the system. They host the whole of our service and provided us with an admin panel to manage the platform ourselves.

The process allows users to register, login, and manage their passwords and security. The system is a gateway to all of our services, connecting physical fuel cards to our automated system. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager, a developer, the CEO, a VP, a customer support operative, and a designer from Cubix. Over 26 people were engaged in creating the backend of the system.

How did you come to work with Cubix?

We floated a tender, which they participated in along with 16 different companies. One of my colleagues had worked with them in the past and their proposal stood out the most so we decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Cubix began in April 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was impressed with their performance, they tackled every aspect of the scope. Our teams had high-quality discussions. They come into every interaction with positivity and experience. Cubix gave us something bigger than the scope we had imagined. They come up with really creative ideas and are always willing to give more than is required of them. Overall, we had a great experience.

How did Cubix perform from a project management standpoint?

Cubix set up a process of project management from the beginning. We used Basecamp to communicate, although they are now switching to Jira. Our teams also held weekly phone calls to follow up on the project. Every two weeks we have a build for the mobile app that we can reflect and comment on, which is useful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The high-level management at Cubix is very supportive. They really jump on projects and make sure they’re done right. We got a high level of support, which was very important to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While it wasn’t a big issue, they work from a different time zone so there were four hours of the day we missed out on working together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I was heavily involved in the process because I’m a perfectionist, but whenever I gave them space they were more creative and more productive. Try giving them space, they’ll do wonderful.

Chopt is a food delivery startup that allows people to order homemade dishes from other users. As the CTO, I oversee all of the technical aspects regarding our platform’s build and scalability as the business grows.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cubix?

We relied on Cubix to build an MVP of our delivery platform. Since we didn’t have the luxury or latitude to hire local software developers, we sought a more cost-effective solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Cubix developed the MVP of our food delivery platform from the ground up. We provided them with a detailed scope of work, and they built out the wireframes and technology. The solution consists of an iOS app, a web app (React frontend), and an administrative backend (Node.js). 

Our main demographic focuses on people who don’t want to eat out because they’re concerned about ingredient quality or preparation methods. Through our app, they can order homemade food from other users and have it delivered fresh.

What is the team composition? 

There were about five resources working on the project in different capacities.

How did you come to work with Cubix?

We were looking for a technical partner that both understood our vision and had the skill to deliver on it. After a quick Google search, I found Cubix and went over their portfolio. They’d been around for a while and demonstrated a wide variety of work, which was a good sign that they weren’t just a one-hit-wonder. That, combined with their affordability, was all I needed to get going.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost around $150,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work lasted from February–December 2018. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re currently trying to raise funds and market our solution to users, so the app isn’t live yet. But, our team felt that it was pretty well-built. The architecture, quality, and overall look and feel were solid.

How did Cubix perform from a project management standpoint?

The team did fairly well. The product manager would give me weekly updates. Whenever there were issues, they were quick to listen and respond. Timelines did slip a bit on a few milestones, but it wasn’t anything major.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For me, the single take away of working with Cubix was that we got good value for our money.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind, right now.

Having a good understanding of your vision and being able to communicate that clearly to their team are important. They’ll run with that and do pretty well.

Their team then designed a full logo and implemented it into an iOS platform.

Cubix makes the process extremely comfortable for me. I have a limited knowledge of the app-building process, but Cubix is fully accessible to answer my questions. Much of that interaction comes through Skype, emails, phone calls, and Stride meetings.

They take every idea I have and implement it faster than I could have expected. They find solutions to every roadblock we encounter. Also, they have been lenient in payment options and have assisted with helping get my company off the ground.

There have been times when I have not been updated about certain parts of the project as expected. I think they get so involved in the project that they forget to reach out to me, but, when they do, they explain everything really well. Still, more structured communication would be an area for improvement.

It’s best to start this kind of endeavor with a clear idea of what you want. Cubix has been able to bring me along as things develop, but we’d be further along at this point if I brought more to the table at the beginning. Cubix. developed a mobile greeting card app according to the specifications I listed during a phone conference. Users can create accounts and access their profiles to view and edit saved e-cards. Custom text, still images, gifs, personalized signatures can be added to the cards, along with cash. A lightbox prompt allows users to send the e-cards via email, SMS, or on social media sites. They even integrated features that weren’t included in the original scope of work. Although they don’t provide online marketing services, gave me a few promotional tips and referred me to several digital ad agencies.

The senior product strategist helped me with the contract, while the project manager oversaw the development stages.

How did you come to work with Cubix.?

Cubix. was one of many app development firms I reached out to regarding this project. During the bidding process, it became apparent that my budget was too small to develop an app successfully. After months of discussion, Cubix. convinced me to continue with the project. I felt comfortable working with them because of their willingness to adjust their prices and provide references to past clients.
