Overall, CubeZoo exceeded expectations throughout the project. If anything, the only area for potential improvement would be providing more frequent progress visuals during the early design stages, purely to maintain momentum and excitement internally. That said, communication and delivery were excellent, and any adjustments we requested were handled quickly and professionally.

Our loan management app integrates with the payroll system allowing employees to apply for pay advances and short-term loans where the deductions and repayments of the funds is done via a pay slip and not the traditional debit of their bank account.

We have done this to mitigate risk as well as facilitate a more comprehensive understanding of the customer through our extensive KYC (Know your customer) system and algorithm.

The system is linked into credit regulatory bodies such as Sacrra and Experian enabling accurate credit coring and lawful responsible lending which we are required to do in terms of the National Credit Regulator.

The workflow is a hybrid of existing competitors being Wonga (in the short-term loan space) and Pay Curve (In the earned wage access / payday advance space).

Phase 1:

Each section was completed and then feedback was provided, thereafter once we were happy with the feedback, we signed off each section before we continued.

The service was professional, items were delivered on time, there were some unexpected delays due our requirements but overall the items were delivered on time.

A bigger team on a project could speed up the process to avoid unexpected delays.

As with most tech projects, complications came up towards the end of the project when the APP was tested on a wide variety of devices that was not tested during development. The CubeZoo team went above and beyond to identify and fix issues. They sent their team to where our users would be at an arranged time and did in-person testing at our premises multiple times.

Field-testing of the APP before release would have prevented a lot of issues we found after the release, but this isn't always easy to do in practice by developers.

I am an executive at PrimeCreate. The business was founded in 2019 and we have finally launched January 2023. The aim of the business if to assist start-ups or SME with the ability to create their own inexpensive website.

We employed Cubezoo to UX and develop PrimeCreate. The goal was to create a MVP for the initial launch and make the website as intuitive as possible.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I worked with Cubezoo in the past from my previous employment. I had built a relationship with them and I know their quality is good.

We understood what it is we wanted from the get go and needed Cubezoo to bring it to life. They created a high-level architecture and followed through wire-framing the full solution. The project was built in Laravel, a PHP code base. The main features is giving the ability for a user to choose their own website template to be created.

Two resource were allocated the creating PrimeCreate and managed by a senior account manager. One UX designer and a full stack developer.

We have only launched the site and have had two website inquiries. No marketing has kicked in, so this is a decent sign of positive enrollments to come.

We have the need to develop a management information system to support our unique sports club development programme. This provides interactive data and infromation for clubs across the country. Reporting capabilities for stakeholders is important and supports national strategies and decision making. This platform will also lead to a national database regarding sports clubs in South Africa.

We found the vendor through a referral. Their ability to interpret our unique requirements into a technology based solution was the deciding factor.

We first had a meeting defining our requirements and scope. The project was run in agile sprints of twe weeks each with full engagement with client and subject matters experts. Development of wireframes was done and exstensively reviewed and revised. Next development of the software was done in phases. Testing in the sandbox of the phases run in parellel. Staging was tested next and is still ongoing. We will go live as soon as testing is done.

We are very happy with the way they understood, interpreted and executed our very specific requirements. The development was done in a very short time and they never hesitated to be flexible and made changes as we realised needs due to the initiative being groundbreaking. They met time, cost and quality requirements.

The project management was very agile and transparent. They are very approachable and never make you feel that you are technically inadequate. Standard project management tools were used and sprint demos were done every two weeks. Timelines were met and change orders were dealt with upfront and timely.

Their ability to understand our complex environment and guide the development to support our objectives is impressive.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They have worked with few of the giants in the medical space and for this reason it gave me comfort working with them.

The project discussion came about in 2019. We drew a business plan and CubeZoo assisted with the financial viability. From here they created a high-level architecture of which went back and forth until I was happy with the result. CubeZoo then created the UX / UI and suggested we prototype the platform to better understand the user journey. The prototype felt like the real app and I could appreciate why this approach was suggested. Code development began soon after. They worked in two week cycles and updated my team bi-weekly to a point where a test app was shared and we were able to explore completed sections of the app. Final stages was the pilot whereby the app was tested amongst my team and fellow industry peers. Testing was well managed with little friction.

A total of four resources. UX/UI designer, front-end developer, back-end developer and senior account manager.

The app has only recently launched so no much feedback as yet. But, I can say the pilot session was a massive success amongst some of the top industry players.

CubeZoo works in a agile methodology and work in two week cycles. I was constantly kept up to date throughout the project life span and attended all the bi-weekly reviews. Within two months into the project a test app was shared and I was able to explore completed sections of the app.

Their ability to understand the business case and take the app to a high level of intuitiveness was impressive.

Maybe received a better brief from me... :)

I’m the co-founder of a gamification-based startup.

We needed a Minimum Viable Product to prove our concept and get some traction. The goal was to build a web app for this.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched in over 4 countries using websites and Word of Mouth, then shortlisted a few and interviewed them.

We had a couple of meetings to ensure they understood the concept. Following we went through a design/UX/UI phase. After signing off on the designs, two sprints were conducted to work on the backend. This was followed by a period of intense de-bugging and testing.

We worked mainly with two team members, an account manager and a developer. Previously we worked with two other members fulfilling the same roles. We also are occasionally in contact with other developers and the founder.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As we had no technology beforehand, the only measurable outcome here is that CubeZoo delivered on the agreed features completely.

This scope ended up being a ‘waterfall’ approach, but they seem well capable of an agile method as well. The team operates in two-week Sprints and are good at sticking to deadlines once they have been officially agreed.

They are willing to have an open mind to genuinely understand client needs. As a startup we had a few different demands to their usual customers, but they did their best to accommodate these. There is a culture of honesty and respect.

Nothing so drastic as to be a genuine issue. Business relationships take time.
