We were looking to elevate the depth of knowledge of each salesman. Our final objective was to ensure that all documentation was easily shareable with customers, having brochures and spec sheets readily available all in one place that could be texted or emailed to a customer.

We had the vast majority of the resources and wireframes prepared prior to working with Crest Coder. We required separate categories for our different products, screens displaying a quick overview of some f the important specs for our products, and then a resources section that would have hosted files specific to that particular model.

Each resource was to be shareable via the normal iOS/Android capabilities. In addition, the resources need to be accessible to our team in order to easily make updates. Finally, a separate section for promotional and general company material was needed.

I have communicated chiefly with the co-found who was extremely attentive to our requests. He response promptly and is quick to initiate calls and video conferences to help clarify issues or processes.

As someone who has limited knowledge of app development, he and the developer walked me through the process and were good to walk me through any confusing parts. I was impressed by their availability given the time difference.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our team has been very excited about the development and launch of this app. We can see the benefit being further reaching than we can anticipate. It will help us to better connect and communicate important technical information with our dealer network which spans the entirety of the USA and Canada.

As it is not always easy to come together, especially during COVID, this will be a gamechanger for us.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their team and ours got on well. At times the process was slow but more on our end than theirs. We communicated chiefly through email and Whatsapp. Their response to our feedback was good with a clear understanding of the direction we wanted the app to take.

There was no language barrier only the time difference and most of the time that wasn't noticeable.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

This is our first experience of outsourcing work of this nature but we would definitely use Crest Coder for future work. We're very pleased with our experience.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Crest Coder had the ability to understand my exact needs for the project. They also where able to advise on best practices in the market when using API's which assisted us in sharpening our integrations and API's overall. They kept to their timelines regardless of the fact that it was scoped during the festive season and started the project to ensure delivery as per my requirement.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The understanding was excellent. Even though they are from a different part of the world where English is not their first language . We where able to communicate easily and concisely when it came to the needed information and explanation of the products integration. Communication was the best .

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They where not dogmatic in their approach. They where flexible enough to allow their team to change the flows as prescribed by myself and implemented the exact flows and processes I wanted for my product. They also where knowledgeable about the best practices in the industry as well as the release process of the app.

Upfront engagement could have been immediate one on one with myself and the developer it would help to get my ideas across quicker. Once that was established the project flowed well and was delivered as promised.

Only a week after release and we received only 5-star reviews in both the App and Play Store. No crashes are occurring so far and we are very happy to have a stable product that the users appreciate.

We almost communicated with the project manager daily and had skype calls when necessary. We had set up a software for logging and resolving tasks and issues which worked well.

We wanted a simple solution for the management of the insurance of Trucks and Plant equipment (construction eqipment). A solution that the end user could manage without having to even deal with a broker or underwriter.

We now have Laravel webapp which will manage the entire process from registration (of clients or brokers), to quoting for both limited and comprehensive insurance, to management of insured items.

We also have a native Android and iPhone app which will allow for the management of "comprehensive" or "limited" insurance, per insured item, at the click of a switch in the app.

From our side we had a designer who supplied the basic layouts. I designed the flow of the webapp and mobile app. Crest coder supplier the technical team to build the webapp and the mobile app.

Client Background Information The client has been in the media and advertising industry for most of his life. Since moving out of the corporate environment he has started his own business that create videos for advertising, promotion and brand awareness purposes.

The idea behind the mobile application is to offer an “On Demand” advertising application where app users can browse business categories and then select a service provider/business and watch their promotional video.

APP FUNCTIONALITY

Phase 1: 

The main purpose of the app is to provide advertising space for businesses within 20 business categories. One the landing screen after login in there must be space for the promotional videos of the day / week / month. It will be great if we could maybe add 3 – 6 videos in this section. On the landing screen the user must select “Business Categories”, which then opens up the 20 business categories.

When the app user clicks on a certain business category for example “Agricultural” the Agricultural business directory open up listing all the advertisers. At the top of each business category there must be space to either add a video advertisement or sliding banner advertisements (6 in total).

The businesses are then ordered either by date added or alphabetically. When the app user clicks on a business listing a screen needs to open up that has that company’s video at the top of the page along with information about that business, their contact details / website address and also a PDF attachment with their product or service catalogue.

Phase 2:

We need to think about reporting back to advertisers on how many times their advert has shown inside the app by reporting back on Impressions and Clicks. We need to collect the stats on how many impressions and clicks the advert received in each of these sections Advertising Space inside the app

3. The particular business page When an app user clicks on the video the app must direct the user to the business page inside the app. On this page I think we can show the number and the contact email, but these details must be hidden and only made visible upon click on it.

The app must then also count the number of times that app users clicks on the number and email in order to see the details, and on a monthly basis these statistics must be emailed to the advertiser. It will be great if the app could tracked logged in user….so each user must create an account on the app so that they can be tracked.

If the app user then visits the Insurance business category and spends a certain amount of time in this category, then the user must be captured and their contact details must be shown as well, along with the business category that their browsed, so that these “leads” an be passed onto some of the advertisers in the business directory.

Well, we specialise in designing hence we were looking for partners with development capabilities. Our project's core idea was to help normal users design their own courts and play with the colours. They should be able to print them as well. Initially, we provided Crest Coder with detail specification document and schedule a call to discuss the understandings. After a single call, we found out that they have understood our requirement and were capable enough to complete the task. We both agreed to use WordPress CMS as it was more convenient to our end client.

The project was completed successfully to our requirements for an initial development round. Right after our first week of development we started receiving progress reports and development versions of the app, which reassured us that the work was being performed.
