I am the Chief Marketing Officer for a public accounting and consulting firm. I also direct the marketing efforts for our wealth management and technologies companies.

For what projects/services did your company hire Copperwing Design, and what were your goals?

We hired Copperwing to rebrand our three companies as well as create a new website for the CPA firm. Our goal was a cohesive and bold brand that stood out among our competitors and streamlined us visually.

How did you select this vendor?

Copperwing has been our agency of record since 2001 and we trust them implicitly. We've always been pleased with their creativity and ideas + they know how to balance the "creative" side of what we want with the "business" side of what we need.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

We created a brand team made up of about 8 people from within the Firm. Copperwing worked with the team to learn what we were looking for in a new brand as well as sharing with us competitive research they'd uncovered in the course of the process. The final deliverables were many: logos, ads, letterhead packages, collateral materials, websites, social media headers, you name it.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with the two partner/owners as well as a project coordinator.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a much more cohesive brand identity and have had several others in our industry ask "who did your rebrand?" Our new brand is visually "heavier" and really stands out when our logo is next to others. That was a goal of ours as the previous logo fell short there.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Copperwing is very hands-on so there was constant communication through email as well as bi-weekly meetings to talk about progress, needs, etc.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They truly wanted to not only make us happy but to get it "right" from a visual standpoint among our competitors.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would have like for things to come up for approval/edits a little more "along the way" vs. so much at the end of the project but I think that's just the way a rebrand goes sometimes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Copperwing Design?

We hired them to develop a new logo and to lead our rebranding efforts.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Copperwing Design designed our new logo. They scheduled meetings that were attended by their lead designer and support manager in order to learn more about our company, culture, deliverables, and more. Then, they presented a variety of logo options, and we selected one logo that we wanted to move forward with. After that, they assisted us in launching that logo to our internal staff and external clients. 

With their success in creating the logo, we rehired them to lead our complete rebranding efforts which included redesigning our website and multiple documents. The team continues to provide support as needed, so we have a monthly retainer with them.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with three people, including Angela (Partner, Creative Director), Brian (Partner, Director of Client Solutions), and a project development coordinator. We’re mostly in touch with Brian. Then, their project development coordinator has been in charge of our redesign efforts.

How did you come to work with Copperwing Design?

We issued an RFP, and we specified that we were looking for a company that could redesign our logo. Copperwing Design submitted a proposal, and we selected them as one of our finalists. After interviewing the two finalists, we chose Copperwing Design.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $98,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in September 2020, and we continue to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re impressed with Copperwing Design’s excellent processes. That factor has been a big contributor to their success. When we’ve revealed the logo to our internal staff and external clients, we’ve received a lot of great feedback from them. 

In addition, their rebranding efforts have increased excitement in our company because our internal staff has been able to wear our new company gears using the new logo they’ve created. We’ve also seen increased traffic on our website thanks to their redesign efforts. 

How did Copperwing Design perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily communicate through email and Zoom. We also use SharePoint to download large files. The team is organized, and they’ve been meeting our budget range and timeframe. Whenever we request deliverables from them, they ensure we agree to their price first. As a result, we have not had any instances where we’ve been charged more. Overall, they’ve met everything we’ve asked.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills are impressive, and they frequently check in and ask for feedback. On top of that, they’re responsive whenever we need something. In addition, even though we share a lot of thoughts during meetings, they’re able to list down all of our feedback. Above all, we’ve never felt that they’ve been overwhelmed or unable to manage the workload that we’ve given to them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust that Copperwing Design can do their job — they’re really good at it. They have amazing designers, architects, and engineers. Moreover, they will lead the way so that you can accomplish your goals.

We hired them to do some design work for our organization.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us layout and printing. For any of our events, they help us with the layout, too. All of our marketing needs for the foundation is worked on by their team, as well. They’ve worked with us on several campaigns.

I work with two people from their team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $1,500 a month plus the cost of some additional projects. We’ve spent between $18,000–$25,000 per year. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since roughly 2017.

We really enjoy working with their team. They’re easy to work with and the product is good. We like their work—it’s impressive.

We use email mostly, unless I need to pick up the phone and call or text. They try to please us as much as they can with hitting deadlines. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re extremely accessible and their work is very good.

Instead of telling them what to do, get their ideas first. Figure out their vision because theirs could be better.

We hired Copperwing Design for support in two areas. Firstly, we needed to refresh our brand, including voice and strategy. We also hired them to help with various creative projects, as needed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Copperwing Design is helping design our brand, working on the overall voice and how we communicate with customers and employees. They’re also helping us enhance our logo with a new tagline. Their team helps produce creative collateral that can be posted anywhere, including social media, email, digital, or print. For creative support, they help us on an ad hoc basis as projects come up.  

What is the team composition?

We work with 3–4 people, depending on the engagement. The two owners of the business support the project, as well. 

How did you come to work with Copperwing Design?

I’d had an experience working with Copperwing Design when I was at another financial institution, so I knew their quality of work would be good. They’re also a local team, so they understand our market and have worked with our company on and off for many years.

We’ve spent around $50,000, but we anticipate spending more in the next year.

Our company has been working with them off and on for many years. It's an ongoing relationship.

We don’t have any solid metrics, but they always help us come to the right solution. Everything is delivered on time.

They’re excellent. They’re very flexible with scheduling meetings. Their team ensures we stay on task and manage the back and forth through all of our creative projects. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Copperwing Design listens to our mission and helps us work toward success. They produce great solutions that perfectly match our needs. They’re also intensely focused on delivering good work. 

They’re also incredibly flexible and are available to fit our needs. Whether they’re developing creative or brand strategy or reviewing branch collateral, they're very supportive. We have a great partnership, and they work as an extension of my team.

So far, there’s no area for improvement on their end.

Be concise in what your purpose is. The more specifics you can give them, the better the engagement and overall solution will be.

I’m the sales and marketing manager for KW Containter. We manufacture injection molded paint cans for the paint and coatings industry. The cans are 100% recyclable and our design is called TruSnap.

We wanted to brand our all-plastic container.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cooperwing Design helped us with the branding and marketing for our all-plastic container from start to finish. They created a name, logo, and follow-up marketing for the new branding elements as well. They also provided general online, social media, and print marketing services as well.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the two owners very closely on this project.

We took bids on the project, based on the scope that we provided, from multiple companies within our state. They seemed to be the best for our needs, so we decided to move forward.

We began working in 2015, and they’re our engagement is ongoing.

I work as an Education Specialist in Child Nutrition at the Alabama State Dept. of Education. We administer a federally funded program by USDA.

The number of children fed tripled since we started the marketing campaign with Copperwing.

The workflow was easy and we had no difficulties staying connected.

They have an incredibly diverse background in all forms of marketing and design.

I can not think of any areas to improve since all my needs were addressed and addressed in a timely manner.
