One area for improvement could be more proactive suggestions during the design phase. While they executed our inputs well, a few more creative recommendations or industry best practices upfront would have added even more value. That said, they were always open to feedback and quick to adapt.

We required a mobile app with a complex and sophisticated admin section. We asked Coherent Lab to work closely with different stakeholders in order to deliver this. Their main focus was developing the architecture, APIs, and Admin section, and they delivered outstanding quality.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app and admin section are better than what we had envisioned. Coherent Lab came up with suggestions we had not thought of and implemented them with ease. We had many requirements for the admin section as we need different stakeholders to access the right data to make decisions and navigate quickly in Admin to save time. They did an excellent job delivering this. 

Coherent Lab's excellence in delivering architecture, APIs, helping with getting the best Cloud Services, and setting everything up were crucial in developing an app that is high quality and user-friendly.

We were afraid that being on different continents and from different cultures would be challenging, but Coherent Lab managed to communicate and work with us in such a way that we felt at ease, encountered no barriers in communication, and were consistently on the same page— even more so than companies from our own countries with whom we had previously worked on other projects. One of their strengths is that they are extremely customer-centered and always willing to provide the best service.

In the beginning, we had to get used to each other's communication styles, coming from different cultures. However, they quickly adapted their style to accommodate us. This demonstrated their flexibility and communication skills, showing their ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Just to start with project, we finalize our requirements and then we start preparing figma designs for our app. Initiative taken by team coherent is superb and we finalize app designs within 10 days. Team coherent prepared the rest api after then and another team is working on figma designs. First UAT was ready within 2 months. After UAT all tickets were closed by coherent super fast.

It was really a good experience with team, I am pretty happy with the app development.

Team coherent uses good approach about project onboarding to delivery. They provide us weeky updates and we are having meeting with all team members on weekly basis. We are always free to give our suggestions and they are very much available on email.

Their UI/UX designs and project management skills were impressive.

Their is no such things I think I should mention here but still if that seems to be mandatory then it can be more communication channels other then email.

The app is for runners. It tracks their movement and performs many calculations to determine what the user needs to do at particular times in their workout to improve their performance.

So far, the cost is close to $11,000. If we decide to build a mobile version, the cost will rise to $30,000.

We started working with them around October 2021, and we expect to launch the app in 2–3 months. We’re pretty satisfied with the initial part, so we plan to continue working together on enhancements and maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Coherent Lab delivered the project on time, and we’ve had a great experience with them. Their suggestions have been really helpful. The app isn’t on the open market yet, but we’ve tested it with nearly 1,000 people, and they’re pretty excited about it.

Additionally, Coherent Lab saved us about two months of development time, and we’ll definitely go to them if we build Android and iOS versions of the app.

They’re good. We’ve had no problems in this regard. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we did phone and Skype video calls. We’ve also done face-to-face meetings at their office for the past 7–8 months.

Their expertise is outstanding, and their owner is quite good on the technical part.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could enhance their team on the design side. Having everything at the same table would make things more effective.

We laid out the project plans via WhatsApp, and then Coherent Lab LLP provided the documentation and features that I needed for the first version of the app. Then, their team designed and developed the UX/UI. Once the app was complete, Coherent Lab LLP provided maintenance services for three months.

Coherent Lab LLP produced good work — I'm very satisfied. We had some bugs, but we rectified them all after three months of testing.

The entire project had a 90-day timeline, but Coherent Lab LLP delivered a final product within just two months. They always delivered on time and within budget. Coherent Lab LLP had timely responses to my messages — we primarily communicated through WhatsApp. We had scheduled Skype calls as well to discuss the project.

It was a positive, awesome, and beneficial experience. The app is fantastic and useful, and we are still using it. We had several meetings and calls through Zoom and WhatsApp. There were no delays, but there was some disturbance because of the lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, they were able to work throughout the lockdown and even through the night and on weekends.

The app has been very impressive and helpful, and the owners are very polite; any time there was a problem during a class that came up, they provided us with instant help. I'm thankful to both of the owners.

I've done multiple hackathons and Unicorn pitch competitions with this project, and I've also gotten positive feedback from industry leaders, people that are potentially new to the sector, and UI/UX developers outside of our organization.

How did Coherent Lab LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

Coherent Lab LLP has performed very well in terms of project management. They’re always punctual — they’ve delivered everything on time, provided timely responses and feedback, and kept me in the loop the entire time. 

They use Trello to send me screenshots and videos of the app, update me on their progress, and ask me for more input and feedback. We primarily communicate through WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with the quality of Coherent Lab LLP’s work compared to timelines. I had worked with other vendors who were able to uphold their end of the bargain in terms of the timeline but not the quality of the final product.

Fortunately, this has never been the case with Coherent Lab LLP. They uphold a certain caliber of work, so whenever they feel like they won’t be able to meet a deadline, they let me know instead of just delivering a sub-par product just to meet the deadline.

I also like how transparent Coherent Lab LLP is in terms of their process and how they educate me on what it takes to develop applications. They understand that I have my own creative direction, but they also clearly explained upfront that they needed to do things in a way that was plausible for their team, as well as the timeline that we’ve established for the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they’d benefit from investing more in the creative side of things, such as UI/UX and videography. But overall, they’ve provided phenomenal service, and I’m really happy with their work so far.

Make sure to have your ideas or plans written down before you approach them. You also want to be prepared to be educated and be willing to possibly work with renewed timelines depending on the project that you're asking them to do.
