We’ve been able to use the site Codism built to reach consumers we would never have gotten in contact with otherwise. Having an online platform provided a new customer base for our business to target.

Our project manager from Codism was very effective. They were quick to answer all my questions throughout the process.

I had the option to communicate with every member of the Codism team. They gave me prompt and clear responses when I reached out with queries.

At times, they sent delayed correspondence due to the time zone difference. In these cases, I would hear back from them by the next day.

I am the Founder and CEO of ReadySetBoom. We specialize in working with leading professional practices, medical practices, and other high-ticket local business that are looking to get to the next level of preeminence in their market. We help them build a five-star reputation online, handle SEO, and work with their staff to increase their quality of service. We do this through technology and training platforms that enable these businesses to achieve those objectives and grow their profitability.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codism?

We had three challenges. The first dealt with helping us to better implement our services within the platform for new clients. The second focused on heightening our email marketing, and the third had to do with a process of correcting directory listings for our clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codism very capably managed the implementation process within the platform and documented those processes. This is a multi-stage process that begins when a client is on-boarded and continues through the implementation and launch for the client. They are also working to make our company more visible by implementing email marketing at a very high level of sophistication. This is being done through a fine-tuning of our prospecting system to focus on very targeted segments of business and specialties.

What is the team composition?

We primarily work with two people at Codism. The first focuses on the implementation of the platform, and the second works on marketing.

How did you come to work with Codism?

We searched various platforms for outsourced technical assistance and decided on Codism based on their diligence, technical abilities, professionalism, and reasonable price point.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working together since 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have enabled us to obtain specific prospect data and reach out to those prospects while allowing us to respond to variations in demand in a cost effective manner.

How did Codism perform from a project management standpoint?

They have been very responsive and organized while meeting our deadlines and keeping us updated along the way. We have a regular conference call, occasional calls to address issues as needed, and will also communicate over email and Skype.

What do you find most impressive about them?

Not only are they technically trained, but they are very good people to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Over time we are continually improving our processes, systems, and systematizing. They have been responsive and cooperative on all those fronts.

Any advice for potential customers?

In any outsourced process there needs to be a baseline of communication and expectation management that is adjusted over time for needed corrections. It is also important to have a proactive team that is co-operative and responsive. We have found that with Codism.

I’m the owner of an event staffing agency that supplies labor for conferences and seminars, including audio/visual technicians, lighting engineers, electricians, and anything else that’s needed for events.

We approached Codism with the second phase of a web app we were creating for internal use after working with a different development company that ultimately could not meet our requirements.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app is an all-in-one, mobile-friendly platform that provides time tracking capabilities, calculates payroll, and tracks data analytics to streamline daily operations. They’re using PHP to build the platform and are managing all aspects of development in accordance with my preferences on design and functionality. They started from scratch, and we’re currently using the app in our day-to-day work.

I work primarily with a project manager, and he oversees two full-time developers.

A family member of mine works at an IT company with government contracts and had used their services in the past.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I use the product every day to run my business. I wouldn’t be able to run such a smooth process without this app to assist with time tracking and payroll.

How did Codism perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve performed very well. We speak on a weekly basis, sometimes more frequently if needed. I spend time gathering notes and screenshots on the changes I’m considering, and they work through them right away when I send them. We’re going on a year working together, and they’ve done a great job.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their response time and attention to detail have been outstanding, and they’ve communicated very effectively throughout the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None come to mind.

The most important aspect of our partnership has been communication. They’re great listeners and have done a fantastic job of executing my ideas.

I’m the founder and president of TeamStake, an online fund management system for season-long fantasy sports leagues. We collect, hold, and disperse fantasy league entry fees for users.

We hired them to fix the basic functionality of the website. I had started the work with a different developer but we had a fallout and ended up reaching out to Codism to have them help revamp certain parts of the site and get it working.

What were your goals for this project?

My goals for this project were to have all the functionality that a basic fantasy sports website requires and have the best practices in place in terms of the implemented technologies for ensuring a smooth flow in the website.

I posted my project on a job portal—Guru. Codism submitted their quote but I chose a different developer, which ended up being unable to accomplish the task. I reached back out to Codism given that I had spoken to them extensively during my initial research phase.

When I parted ways with the previous developer, my website was in bad shape and the basic functionality was not in place. I had to put together third-party integrations and recode the majority of the functionality. I needed someone that would listen to what I wanted and code it out into a robust system.

They assigned a project manager, a PHP developer, and a user interface developer to work on my project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They were able to get my site fixed in less than three weeks, and since then, my web app has been running the way I want it to. Customer growth is spectacular and any bugs that come up are addressed quickly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Project management was the key. They had to learn the previously written code and then write their own, however, the project still got delivered on time and that is where their project management skill comes into the picture.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They listened to all my functionality requests and implemented them quickly. Whenever something was difficult to make clear over email or Slack, they would hop on a Skype call with me. It was also valuable to use them as thought partners for potential projects that I was unsure about pursuing. They have a depth of knowledge in regards to coding that I really appreciate.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Most of their developers work on Indian Standard Time, while the project managers work on Eastern Standard Time. If I wanted to get in touch with a developer and go over things, it would sometimes be difficult to find a time where we were both free.

I’m the owner of several companies. Onsite Storage Solutions buys, sells, and rents shipping containers throughout North America. Solana Outdoor Products, the BBQ Grill Outlet, and the Outdoor Kitchen Outlet are online retail sites for outdoor products, mostly specializing in outdoor kitchens, BBQs, and related accessories.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codism?

They have helped us with our online presence, including web development, search engine optimization, and pay-per-click [PPC]. We have 9 websites that they help us with. We’re going through a process of revamping them right now.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ll focus on OnsiteStorage.com, BBQGrillOutlet.com, and OutdoorKitchenOutlet.com. Codism is responsible for building the sites. Onsite is just an informational site. The BBQ Grill Outlet, Outdoor Kitchen Outlet, and SolanaBBQGrills.com are all e-commerce, and they’re being revamped right now. The platform for the Outdoor Kitchen Outlet and the BBQ Grill Outlet is Magento. For Onsite, we are doing some location-based SEO. A shipping container weighs anywhere from 5,500–10,000 pounds, so when people are looking for that, they want something nearby. They don’t want to pay to have it shipped a long distance. So, that becomes an important component of what we’re doing.

We want to know who is searching. When people are searching, you don’t want to optimize for PPC when you’re paying for something you can’t really deliver at a feasible price. We’ve done some stuff already in the past, and we’re doing even more now. For the Outdoor Kitchen Outlet, BBQ Grill Outlet, and SolanaBBQGrills.com, we originally had a platform using WordPress. We’re moving away from that because it’s just not robust enough for what we’re doing. We’re building both a PHP site for the BBQ Grill Outlet and a full Magento site for the Outdoor Kitchen Outlet so that we can handle the size and scale of what we’re trying to do. They have done some content marketing, but most of the time, we control that.

The president of that company, Riaz, used to work for a container company. When he left there, he reached out to me indicating he could do some work for us. I gave him an opportunity, and it just expanded from there.

We’ve spent between $10,000 and $50,000.

We started working with them in August of 2014, and the work is ongoing. We’re always revamping and changing things.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The impact is pretty direct. Everything we do is online, and because our customers are technical people if the site doesn’t work, we’re not in business. For us, it’s just about growing the business. As we progress, we obviously need Codism to do more.

How did Codism perform from a project management standpoint?

I’d say they’re excellent. They’re conscientious, which is great. They really do strive to do their best. We communicate by phone. They have people working both at night and during the day, so we’re able to communicate whenever we need to. As far as collaboration, there’s obviously test servers that we’ve set up. We also share stuff in Google Documents, so we’re able to stay on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about Codism?

What it comes down to, for me, is the price. Price doesn’t always mean anything if they’re not able to achieve it. It’s not a good deal if they fail, and that’s happened to us numerous times. That’s why services like Clutch are so great: they help you narrow down the options and have less chance of making those mistakes.

We appreciate the relationship that we have with Codism, and we genuinely believe that they are trying to do their best. They feel that they are a stakeholder in what we’re doing, so they really want us to succeed. The more we succeed, the more business we can do with them. We like that. We really want them as a partner in what we’re doing.

Are there any areas Codism could improve?

If they don’t have the expertise for a task, they’re usually able to go out and get it. If it’s something that’s not readily available or that they haven’t done before, they’ll find somebody to do it. We’re not really running into that situation because if we did, they would identify it and take care of it.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Codism?

Whenever you work with a consultant, you need to have a clear view of what you want. If you can’t articulate your vision, it’s difficult for somebody to create a product. Codism can help you articulate that view or create the view, but you really need a good starting point.

We are a major football league in India.

What is your role at the company?

I am the President of the league. I am responsible for bringing in new investors, sponsors, and overall revenue generation strategies. I'm also involved in working with existing clients to expand business opportunities and the overall marketing function.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you approached Codism?

Our main challenge was maintaining our inventory. When starting the inaugural season, we had a huge consignment of merchandise that came in, and maintaining the track of incoming and outgoing merchandise took more than an Excel sheet. We needed a system that would help us to keep track and also give us reports on-demand. Codism had the best-planned solution for the issue.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of the project, and can you describe the specific services they provided?

We work with the majority of Indian Universities, 700+ to be specific (just like the NCAA format). We had to get a system in place to track of all the incoming and outgoing merchandise, maintain the invoices, and provide reports for audit purposes. Codism built a system with PHP CodeIgniter for the framework, Bootstrap, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript for the user interface, and MySQL for the database. They built an admin panel that helps us control the access depending on user categories.

Codism has an excellent Business Analysis and Project Management team that has helped us resolve most of our technology-related pain-points. After building the web-based ERP [enterprise resource planning], we have been working with them on all our projects. We have 5 companies, and Codism helped us with websites for all of those and digital marketing. We are proud to have them as our preferred IT partner.

How did you originally come to work with Codism?

We had requested proposals from different companies, and Codism was one of those. Their proposal was realistic and written with the complete sports and events business in mind. It was accepted by the Board of Directors with a majority, and we started building the relationship.

The recent success we had with our world’s largest university eSports tournament in terms of reach was a result of Codism's input in getting our web presence and raising awareness through social media.

Codism has the best project management team we have ever worked with. They are responsive 24/7. They don’t just manage the projects; they also understand the business requirements, perform an analysis of the industry standards, and convey it in a way that never feels like a suggestion from an outsider.
