I'm the Director of Engineering at Translated. Translated been offering human translation services for the last 20 years to our 266,903 clients, in 194 languages and 40 areas of expertise. We use a powerful combination of human creativity and machine intelligence to craft consistent quality translations at speed.

For what projects/services did your company hire CodeRiders, and what were your goals?

My rteam is dedicated to build connector in order to make possibile the perfect integration between the customer system and workflow with tre Translated translation workflows. The goal is to build a localization Figma plugin and a localization connector for the Github hosted repos

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had interviews with many companies. The deciding path was - the fitting with the tech stack - the availability to adapt the software implemetation management to our workflow

Internally we designed the solutions by gaining feedbacks from the stakeholders (customers and internal stakeholders). we developed the stories and, from there, the project was detailed in terms of tasks. The tasks were grouped in milestones.

With CodeRiders we agreed the definition of the costs in terms of MD of each milestone. Daily, we have a virtual standup meeting where our project leader monitor the progress of the work. Each milestone is considered a (partial) deliverables: it is internally tested and validated before approach the subsequent milestone

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Both the systems were delivered in time.

We established a Slack channels: one for each project and another for administrative and project management purpose. The communication was very fluid and smooth, totally asyncronous

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

CodeRiders were able to provide the engineers in less that 48 hours from the agreement. The learning path was very easy and the onboarding process very quick and effective

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We collaborated only in thwo projects. Very similar in terms of context. If it is true that there is always something to improve, I would say that, in my scanarios, we did not suffered any problem so I'm not able to provide enhancement suggestion.

I'm the CEO of a Software development company called Sinov8 Software Solutions. We help build property management solutions for the real estate industry in South Africa.

For what projects/services did your company hire CodeRiders, and what were your goals?

We've used Coderiders for multiple projects but mostly they assist us with development for our RedRabbit Inspections & Maintenance Management solution. Our goals are generally to outsource work to them that we don't have the internal capacity for ourselves. So in essence they are an extension of our own internal team.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them on Upwork originally and decided to give them a chance based on some very positive reviews by other customers. The main thing for us was their skillset that was exactly aligned with the tech stack we were using as well as the fact that they were very professional and well versed in English.

The latest project we outsourced to them was a complete rebuild of our Property Inspection App for the RedRabbit.zone product. We decided at the end of 2020 that it was time to rewrite the existing app from the ground up.

Having at that point had more than a year relationship with Coderiders we felt very comfortable with their skills, professionalism, and work ethic, and after hearing that they were extending their offering to include Flutter development we jumped at the opportunity to partner with them on this project.

The purpose of the app is to allow users to record the conditions of properties when doing inspections along with photos signatures etc. and to then sync that information with the backend system in an efficient way.

We decided that we were going to use Flutter as this allows us to consolidate all our functionality into a single code base instead of maintaining IOS and android as separate code bases. Ideally, we wanted to finish the project by August/September 2021 so that we can start testing and be ready to roll out the new app in 2022.

There were 4 people involved in the project. 1 Full-time developer, 1 Business developer manager, and 2 people who acted as consultants during meetings.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is in the final stages now and so far we are very happy with the results and we’ve successfully built the following features that are soon to start beta testing:

• Ability to download scheduled inspections and schedule new inspections directly on the app
• Ability to see an interactive list of inspections grouped by date.
• Ability to review inspection details
• Ability to follow an inspection creation wizard that allows you to select or create a property, select or create the contacts and then compile a starting point for the inspection with one of 3 options (Start clean, create from template, create from previous inspection).
• Ability to capture the various conditions of each area and item and add any number of photos to each item. • Stunning capturing screen that is super feature rich with beautiful animations.
• Great built-in camera with features such as tap to focus and flash which allows you to take multiple photos in quick succession to make the photo taking process as quick and seamless as possible.

We're currently using Basecamp as the main communication tool and have one project manager internally who is responsible for handling all communication with the developer directly, answering any questions & reviewing, and merging the code.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am impressed with their work quality and professionalism & willingness to go the extra mile for their customers and the way they really partner with their clients for the long haul.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think like almost any development company out there It would be great if they had more resources as there have been 1 or 2 times when they were not able to assist due to a lack of resources on their side. Same challenges we are facing. It would also maybe be nice if they had an internal designer they could use for small design ideas & guidance during development so they were little less dependant on us for minor UI imput.

We had to produce a credible version of our operating system to show prospective users the positive impact such software could have on their lifestyle.

We short-listed CodeRiders and hired them for a small trial project. The outcome was extremely satisfactory, so it was easy to award them the entire contract.

We provided CodeRiders with UI mock-ups and functionality requirements, and they implemented the solutions using the latest technologies and web-development practices. They delivered everything we needed.

Selecting CodeRiders was a stroke of genius. Their capabilities fit our needs perfectly, and we felt comfortable skipping a prototype and developing the first functional version of our software.

The project was conducted entirely over email and online project management platforms. It was very effective due to CodeRiders' responsiveness and communication.

In truth, it was their attitude towards the project and their contributions. They took pride in their work and genuinely wanted us to succeed.

I honestly can’t think of anything. That may sound disingenuous, but we’re looking forward to the next chapter of our cooperation.

We had a test-based selection process. These tests were designed in such a way that only 1% of the programmers can pass, which helps us ensure the highest quality. The fact that we selected CodeRiders is proof of their skills.

The team consisted of professionals in design, frontend and backend programming, software architecture, marketing, testing, etc. The project was huge, so CodeRiders was just a part of the team.

The project was very complex and required lots of customization, and it turned out to be successful. We have a huge number of clients that use the services.

Improvement is always possible. However, I was very happy with the project, so I don't have a specific area in which I need to recommend improvements.
