I was looking for a company that could create an application to simplify our Excel operations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codeheroes built an accounting solution that allows us to track financial information for clients. The application has online functionalities but mostly works as an offline tool. Codeheroes assigned one developer to the project.

How did you come to work with Codeheroes?

Professionalism was more important to me than price. Codeheroes was referred by a friend who'd used them in the past. I looked at other companies but found Codeheroes to be the most professional choice.

How much have you invested with Codeheroes?

The cost of Codeheroes' work was $80,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Codeheroes in July 2016. The project runtime was two months, ending in September.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Codeheroes' solution has saved us a lot of time, compared to using Excel spreadsheets. I used to need five people for the same amount of work, given that we have many clients to manage, and there is a lot of math involved in the process. I have more money in my pocket as a result of Codeheroes' work, and my company has been growing. I can concentrate on other things, now that I don't have to spend a lot of time with spreadsheets.

How did Codeheroes perform from a project management standpoint?

Codeheroes was perfect in this regard. I was given end dates for the development. I was consulted on the specifications and received test versions for feedback.

What did you find most impressive about Codeheroes?

There was nothing in particular. I was satisfied overall.

Are there any areas Codeheroes could improve?

No. Codeheroes' work was excellent, and I received what I wanted.

We have developed an app which helps people make decisions about choosing new clothes. I am the concept creator and chief executive officer of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Codeheroes?

I started out as an Android developer. After developing the idea, I realized I needed a backend for the application but I didn't have this expertise.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codeheroes worked on my app's backend in its entirety based on my requirements. I developed the Android front-end personally while the iOS version was developed by another partner. I didn't have much experience in terms of application backend creation, but, after a few talks with Codeheroes, I was told about solutions that could be suitable for the app. Codeheroes' team has powerful knowledge in this area. Codeheroes also created an administration tool with which we can manage any issues. My app connects users to each other, either as friends or followers. It's possible to share a link or photo with all followers through a single click. Codeheroes needed to determine how to do this efficiently. We ended up choosing Amazon Web Services as a cloud provider. Codeheroes had experience with the platform and made all the necessary connections with our API. This allowed us to send photos to the cloud server. I initially thought that it would be an easy app to create, but the backend has required ample logic.

How did you come to work with Codeheroes?

I met Codeheroes' team during a startup meetup. We had a conversation during which they told me that the company had the skills for building my backend. I learned about their technology specializations and thought it would be a good idea to give Codeheroes a try.

How much have you invested with Codeheroes?

The cost of Codeheroes was between $52,000 and $55,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Codeheroes in December 2015. The development was completed in April 2016.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

After the first app review Codeheroes performed, I had a good impression of their experience. Codeheroes proposed high-level solutions which made sense. Also, the technology stack chosen is modern and complex. The API created by Codeheroes was very easy to maintain and code for, from both my and my iOS partner's perspective. It was designed well from the beginning.

In the first 2 months after the release, we attracted more than 5,000 unique users. The progress slowed a bit, with an overall count of 7,000. We saw the most traffic in the beginning, with the app being triggered by 150 users at a time.

How did Codeheroes perform from a project management standpoint?

In case of an emergency, I could always call Codeheroes. They were ready to answer my questions if there were any mismatches in our project plan.

What did you find most impressive about Codeheroes?

Codeheroes' reaction to our project was very good. They believed that the app would be popular and were interested in helping me with any problem. We worked together as one team, and I never felt that Codeheroes was an external company.

Are there any areas Codeheroes could improve?

I have no negative impressions from the project. Everything was delivered on time.

We are a tech startup based in Poland, currently in the process of a commercial launch. We provide payment and logistics services for the e-commerce market.

I am the CEO of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Codeheroes?

We needed a very strong IT team for planning and developing our systems. Our main goal is to replace e-commerce checkout pages with our own widget, which will integrate with Polish payment providers and courier companies, providing both services. Clients will be able to enter their address, payment information, a preferred delivery method, and so on. The information goes to our system and is processed on behalf of our suppliers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have employed Codeheroes as our core developers since our very early stages as a company. They participated in the first architecture planning process and continued not only in terms of development but also for project management and business requirements interactions. In the absence of a CTO, Codeheroes is helping us create our initial business plans.

We have a microservices system written in Scala.

The platform includes some PHP plug-ins written by another developer, which connect to some legacy systems we're using, but the overall technology is quite modern. We are also using other developers for frontend elements. All external resources report to Codeheroes' principal.

Codeheroes has a broad view of our system, so I've felt comfortable talking to them about our business needs, and how they can be translated into solutions.

The size of our team has varied but has generally involved four people from Codeheroes' side.

How much have you invested with Codeheroes?

I would rather not give an exact figure. Codeheroes has fees which are adapted to the international market, higher than average Polish developers'. Their quality is also higher, which is preferable to us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Codeheroes in March 2016. We have an ongoing relationship.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We are getting close to our commercial launch, and plan to onboard our first commercial merchants shortly. I don't have any feedback yet.

How did Codeheroes perform from a project management standpoint?

We have outsourced all project management to Codeheroes, from gathering business requirements to splitting those into individual tasks, setting up sprints, and pushing the product into production. Codeheroes also provided DevOps services.

What did you find most impressive about Codeheroes?

Codeheroes put together a business plan when our company was left without a CTO, handling an uncomfortable situation in a professional way.

Are there any areas Codeheroes could improve?

We have made some startup mistakes which could've been avoided, but they weren't related to Codeheroes' work. I'm very happy about my collaboration with them.
