For the past two years, our marketing team at Planning Center has had the pleasure of working with Codalent, who has been instrumental in helping us elevate our web presence and streamline our content workflows. Codalent has led several key initiatives that have fundamentally improved our marketing website:

Headless CMS Integration: They successfully integrated Storyblok as our headless CMS, enabling greater flexibility and performance.
Empowering Independent Page Building: Thanks to their architecture and tooling, our marketing and design team can build and go live with simple landing pages independently, without needing to rely on them for every iteration.
Visual Editing Support: Codalent made it possible for non-technical users to make edits visually in the CMS, lowering the barrier to entry.

Once our team finishes writing and designing a page, we hand it off to Codalent, who handles the development. They are fast, and when a task takes longer than anticipated, they always communicate clearly about timelines and next steps.

We’ve developed a smooth QA process with Codalent using ClickUp, which allows us to upload screenshots and videos to provide final feedback.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Codalent could have done differently?

While our overall experience has been extremely positive, there are a couple of areas where that could further improve the collaboration:

Design Precision on the First Pass: Occasionally, details from the design specs are missed in the initial development pass and are caught during QA. Increasing attention to these subtleties up front could help reduce back-and-forth.

Browser Compatibility: There have been instances where a page works perfectly in Chrome but encounters issues in Safari, which are later flagged and resolved. A more thorough cross-browser testing process would help catch these inconsistencies earlier.

I’m the CEO of KrakenD, an information technology company. We provide a high-performance, stateless API gateway software that helps companies transition to modern microservices architectures. We offer simplicity, scalability, and open-source solutions for efficient API management.

We needed to redesign our website.

Codalent redesigned our website. We provided the design materials in Figma, and they converted them into our current website. The team used CSS and HTML with Hugo and Tailwind to build the frontend.

We worked together from May to November 2024.
