We hired Chetu to complete custom software development for our tele-optometry platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu created the software for our remote optometry eye exam system. We provided them with a vision of what we wanted to accomplish from the platform and how we wanted the processes to flow. My team designed the UI, which had a queuing system that went from a local technician to a remote technician, then the system moved users to a remote doctor. At the final stage, users received their prescriptions. Once we provided the UI designs, Chetu developed the software.

What is the team composition?

At the beginning of our partnership, we worked with four technicians from Chetu. Once the product was ready for a commercial launch, we scaled down to two technicians. 

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

We met Chetu at an optical trade show. When we researched to find an offshore company that was experienced in telehealth and software development in our industry, it was clear Chetu had the expertise we were looking for. They were also at the right price point for us. After doing some due diligence, we hired them to go ahead and develop the software. 

How much have you invested with them?

During the development phase, we spent $200,000–$250,000 with Chetu. Once we scaled the project down, we spent around $100,000 annually. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Chetu from October 2016–March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our success can be attributed to our partnership with Chetu. They helped us commercialize and scale up our service. We’ve grown significantly over the last few years, and are partnered with every major optical retailer. 

We are the leading tele-optometry solution available on the market right now — we produce 2,000 exams a day for a total of 500,000 since launch. We can produce a high number of exams thanks to Chetu’s expertise and the knowledge that went into building this tele-optometry platform. 

How did Chetu, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly calls with Chetu and communicated daily via email. Sometimes, we had to clarify feature requests or bug fixes, but Chetu was always attentive and responsive. They delivered ahead of the estimated development schedule.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chetu accomplished every task they were assigned. Their team of developers and managers is very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to work with a company that delivered exactly what they said they would.

I am the president and owner of a cashless payment processing company in Minnesota.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

We needed to develop an Android app to enable merchants to take cryptocurrencies on Android-based terminals. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu developed a mobile Android application specifically for the PAX credit card terminals. Working with Chetu made the development process very easy — they developed the basic frameworks and functionalities. 

The app Chetu developed has secure, merchant-specific privacy keys. The app then connects to our web app and API to ensure the merchant is registered in our system. Everything in that workflow is secure so merchants are not vulnerable to cyberattacks. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with seven teammates and a sales representative from Chetu. There was an Android team led by Vinay (Senior Software Developer), a .NET framework developer, two additional developers, and a project manager.   

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

We did an online search for a company that could provide us with the right services. Chetu’s experience in cryptocurrency and blockchain development stood out to me. Most importantly, they had experience in PAX and Clover app markets. It was clear from their portfolio that they had the knowledge to develop the app we needed and could submit it to each marketplace without much involvement from my end.

We invested a little over $40,000 with Chetu. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Chetu from August–December 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Chetu completely nailed the project; they turned my basic idea into a successful app. We’re currently in the rollout period and just had a final app update — we haven’t had any bug issues. Since we’re a startup company, there isn’t any monetary success yet. However, there is general excitement and interest around this project from our team and others. 

How did Chetu, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Chetu had perfect project management. We had weekly meetings that involved the entire team — they were always early and were very thorough when recapping completed work. Chetu’s team accommodated the changes I made throughout the project. Typically, we communicated through Zoom, phone calls, and emails.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m not familiar with the nuts and bolts of the development process. Still, I was really impressed with Chetu’s ability to take my vision and turn it into something absolutely amazing. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything for them to improve — although sometimes Vinay spoke faster than I could follow. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise customers to put together a project plan to make the development process more efficient. That’s the best way to get the most value for the money.

Selecting Chetu was in many respects an easy choice. They had experience in the construction industry developing similar software, they had an easy software development pricing method, and we retained all rights to the software that we got to develop through them.

The project's objective is to create a construction project management platform that helps employees implement the management tools and helps the managers keep a pulse on the projects. The project can generate PMP Templates, Manage Tasks, MIS, Setup Budget, Setup Schedule, Change Tracking, Quality, Closeout, and Reports module

The core team was 4 people. An operations director, project manager, assistant project manager, and a developer. Contractually we had one full-time resource but the work was divided among those team members.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have not yet released the software to the entire company so it is hard to say what the business outcomes will be at this time. The deliverables were well-received by the team and any bugs were quickly addressed.

The project manager was very flexible and worked in a waterfall method with me. He used MS Project for scheduling. Initially, I would say that the communication plan was better than the execution, however after we had a meeting the project began to get back on track and we were able to get ahead of schedule. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We had access to the whole team on all the project meetings and they quickly addressed any concerns in communication or execution. Their simplicity in working with the project and commitment to making excellent results are impressive. I also liked how familiar they were with integrating to many of the software systems we typically use.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the project quality and flexibility was great I found that they typically over-promise on the schedule up-front. In the end my schedule expectations were met but based on their initial schedule I expected the project to be a shorter duration.

Gavin Graham Racing is a race team, and we do short-track oval racing. I’m the marketing director, and I’m in charge of all the pictures, videos, sponsorships, and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

We were receiving a lot of requests from people because Gavin was a 13-year old race car prodigy and a National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) bound racecar driver. Gavin had over 5,000 active followers on Facebook and over 14,000 followers on Instagram.

As a result, people were demanding a lot of things from us, especially hero cards. As a background, hero cards were considered the equivalent of baseball cards. Despite the numerous requests, our WordPress site only had a basic build so we wanted to revamp it, and we hired Chetu, Inc. to help us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu, Inc. integrated a dark mode feature on our website, and they developed a video landing page. On top of that, since it would be difficult to carry a lot of merchandise on the track, they created a place on the site where we could direct our fans to purchase our merchandise. In the end, they enabled us to sell shirts and hats on the website. The team created a payment portal, too. After developing all of our site’s features, they fixed the backend so that we could see all of the reports and analytics.

We only spoke with a project manager, but he had a huge team supporting him.

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

A friend had their website built by Chetu, Inc., and he recommended them to us. He started by availing of a monthly subscription website from a different vendor, and he had a bad experience. He told us that once he hired Chetu, Inc., the difference in the services he received was night and day. Additionally, the team was able to build a really complicated website. As a result, I was confident that the team would be able to deliver our project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The team really made the website functional. On top of that, they delivered the vision we had for our video landing page. With their work, our click-through rate (CTR) dramatically increased from 1% to 9%. We also had problems with people not filling our form correctly and that definitely improved because people wouldn’t be able to submit unless the form was complete.

Through the form, we were able to send fans their free hero cards because we successfully received their name, number, email address, and physical address through the form. Out of the thousands of people who visit our website, around 9% decided to create their accounts and become official members of the fan club.

How did Chetu, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project manager helped in creating a back-and-forth communication between our teams. He also had an open-door policy, which made it easier for us to reach him. He also informed us if they couldn’t meet our deadline and he would provide a reason as to why that happened. 

Above all, whenever we asked for something, they’d get it done quickly and create something that exceeded our expectations. We communicated through phone, email, and Zoom. We had weekly Zoom calls with their team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We felt like we went to the best company right from the beginning because we had a 100% customized website. From the font color, font size, font style, and other design elements, the team was on point. We were really grateful that we didn’t work with companies who would give us hundreds of templates to choose from, which were similar to other websites. Overall, they knew how to get things done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was good from start to finish. They even recorded our Zoom calls to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

Be prepared before your call with Chetu, Inc. The more prepared you are, the better the project’s outcome will be.

I was worried about the language barrier to be honest. Hwo will we communicate with India? Mumtaj, our Team leader spoke very good English and that was a comfort to us here in the US. If I could understand something he jumped in and interpreted for me.

There is nothing I would change. These guys are on it and I'm very impressed with their professionalism.

I’m the director of operations of VirtiMD, a sister company of Diligent Urgent Care. We’re a telemedicine company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

We engaged Chetu, Inc. to develop our web and mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu, Inc. started by developing our web app on WordPress. They created a platform where our providers could connect to the patients. However, before patients could get connected, their experience would be similar to walking into a doctor’s office. As such, our users would meet our virtual receptionist first before they could get connected to the right provider. Basically, we would offer patients a chance to avail telemedicine services where they could just disconnect after.

On top of that, they did some graphic design for us, including altering how our logo looked and developing a mobile app logo from scratch. Another important piece of information was the fact that the functions of our web and mobile app were similar. The team recently completed the web app, and they’re currently working on the approval of our mobile app on the Play Store and App Store. Once they get the approval, we’re ready to launch our mobile app. There are still two more phases they have to finish, so we’ll continue working with them. They’ll also manage the upkeep of our platforms, including resolving any technical issues we may have.

We’re working with Neil (Software Engineer) who functions as our main point of contact. He handles our project management and he’s in charge of coordinating all of our meetings. We also have two separate teams that we meet every Tuesday — the web and mobile app teams.

The previous director chose Chetu, Inc., and I think he did his research quite a bit before choosing them. Before he left, he told me that he was looking at several development companies. In the end, he ended up choosing Chetu, Inc because of their reviews and the companies they worked with before. However, I wasn’t involved in the screening process.

Our phase one was worth $30,000, and we’ll have an additional cost for phases two and three.

We started working with them in May 2021, and we continue to collaborate.

They’re the most organized people that I’ve ever worked with. They’re also brilliant and have good communication skills — they’ve answered all of our questions when we needed them. We communicate through email and Zoom calls.

Chetu, Inc.’s team is knowledgeable about web and mobile development. We only had to share our ideas with them. Once we explained what we wanted our web and mobile app to be, they made it come alive.

I’d recommend working with Chetu, Inc. You should look for Neil because he has a very detailed Gantt chart that he works on, and he gives you up-to-date feedback on where the project is on a weekly basis. On top of that, he is transparent on the upcoming things they will be working on.

The development is ongoing, but they’re already in the final stages.

I’m the senior designer and product manager at a software development company focused on the educational tech (EdTech) industry. We mainly provide services for higher education students in North America, Canada, the UK, and in other places around the world. We provide note-taking services by building note-taking products.

We needed an outsourced development team because we didn’t have dedicated developers to work on our projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In every project, we provide Chetu with a general overview of our tasks. At the same time, we allow them to create documentation relating to technical design, especially in terms of database-related tasks. 

Chetu’s work is purely focused on development. The team handles coding until we hand over the project to our internal team. In fact, our team is currently taking over all of our projects with Chetu. In terms of tech stacks, we use C# and the .NET framework. Also We use standard SQL databases for apps and workflows. For frontend development, we use Bootstrap 4 and CSS frameworks. 

At present, I work directly with Chetu on our web app for submitting recordings. It generates smart notes that students can glean from the recordings. For this project, Chetu provides front- and backend web development services.

What is the team composition?

As part of our contractual agreement, Chetu provides us with necessary teammates like project managers, team leaders, and operations directors. We can control, increase, or decrease the team composition, but there’s always one core developer. At the highest point of our engagement, we’ve had four developers working for us at once. 

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

I wasn’t involved in the actual hiring process, but I knew Chetu came in as an alternative to another developer. We were attracted to their pricing, and the decision-makers at that time knew that Chetu was a large company with a large client base. Moreover, they delivered more quickly than our previous outsourced developers, so that was probably one of the reasons our company continued working with them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $200,000–$1 million. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2018, and the partnership is ongoing. However, our contract ends on the last day of September 2021.

Generally speaking, when we provide feature specifications, Chetu turns them around quickly. We don’t sit and wait, and there’s not a lot of middle management issues that get in the way. They quickly understand our needs and start delivering; they get on with it right away. 

How did Chetu, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of project management, we’re paying per hour for one Chetu developer, but we get four people helping us on our project. Those people include managers and leaders, and this is one of Chetu’s best value propositions. 

The leaders and managers also have development backgrounds, so we can consult them to give us advice. For instance, if we’re proposing development features and we want a consultation, we don’t have to pay for it — it’s included in the per-hour costs we pay.

To communicate, we have a weekly developer meeting. Otherwise, we typically talk to them via Slack or emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chetu is highly productive. Their outputs are strong, and they do things consistently; their productivity doesn’t go up or down, so it’s highly reliable. That’s the best and biggest advantage of working with Chetu. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Chetu’s QA process can be a little tighter, and they can work on communicating a bit better. 

That being said, we’ve worked for a long time with them, so it’s normal to experience the lack of communication here and there — it’s a minor issue. On top of that, we’ve given them plenty of work, so a few things can slip through the cracks. Other than that, they’ve been great and professional. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give clear requirements because you’ll get a huge amount of productivity out of Chetu. The better your requirements are, the faster they’re going to turn them around. On top of that, conduct your own testing to help their processes. In most cases, it’s also great to have a specific liaison officer as part of your team.

I’m the director of operations for SignaPay. We’re a merchant service company that allows merchants to run credit cards and process any type of electronic transaction using terminals or online gateways.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

It was a two-part project. First, we needed an app for a PAX terminal and had some special requests for its functionality, so it had to be custom-written. We also needed a back-office merchant portal to see the transactions online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with a big call meeting to explain what we wanted. Then, we had a second call where Chetu explained the process. We didn’t provide them with much documentation, but we connected them to PAX, the terminal manufacturer. They gave them the rules and regulations that the app needed for secure credit card processing.

Chetu built the app from scratch. It had a special service fee and a custom refund feature. It was also linked to the merchant portal so users can go in and see the transactions in real-time.

What is the team composition?

We had two developers, a team leader, a project manager, and another person.

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

The owner of our company found them. He had an industry friend that had used them before, so it was a referral. Then, we had a phone call with their salespeople. We decided to go with them immediately because we liked what they had to say and felt confident they could do the project.

How much have you invested with them?

The project on its own was $50,000, but we wanted to buy some additional support hours, so we paid another $7,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took us from March–August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have metrics, but we’ve released this to 15–20 merchants, and everything has gone well. In our industry, it’s easy to tell if something isn’t done right because it presents immediate problems, and we haven’t had any.

How did Chetu, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They were fantastic. We had weekly calls throughout the project. Chetu’s team shows us their progress, and we’d give them feedback if something didn’t look right. We got emails every day on what each developer had done.

Additionally, the team leader had a one-on-one call with me outside of the weekly team call. Every Friday, we’d get together and go over a spreadsheet to see the progress. On the other hand, we mainly used emails and calls to communicate with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was totally blown away by how they kept us up to date.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There wasn’t anything they could’ve done better, to be honest. We were completely happy with the product. It was a smooth process and a great end result.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to provide any information they request. A couple of times, we were slow to provide information or feedback, and we could’ve finished 1–2 weeks earlier if we hadn’t dragged our feet.

We needed to integrate financial custodian's APIs into our Salesforce org, including single sign-on capabilities. We also did a project related to our integration of DocuSign and saving completed documents into our instance of Box.

We had a project manager who oversaw the whole project, and at one point we were working with two developers, but later that was moved down to one.

Their team was able to figure out what was needed to meet our requirements of getting the custodian data visible from within our client records inside of Salesforce.

Regular weekly calls, 5:15 reporting, and email communications helped keep us on track.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Even the custodians were impressed with what the team at Chetu was able to accomplish in terms of getting the API calls to show up properly from within the Salesforce Financial Services Cloud product.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We shared with the Chetu team that if anything could change, we would have hoped to move a bit faster at times, but understand there are multiple parties involved and things don't always move as fast as hoped.
