I’m the general manager of a small casino.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

I wanted to develop a software that other casinos can use to generate more loyalty and customer satisfaction, through specialized promotions and bonifications for recurring customers.

The reason why I went for creating the software is that I initially did my own system using Excel DBA, and it generates the reports. Based on customers’ reactions, I thought it could become a product. I presented the whole concept and the fact it was possible really encouraged me to go for it. For the table games, so far, it seems there’s nothing of that sort for casinos.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our software. The main goal is it starts with a casino that has a player tracking system that will have customers register in it. They usually rate their customers and give them points, and those points are usually at the casino’s discretion to determine what customers can do with those points — I need to target casinos with player tracking systems, which 90% of casinos have this. 

The particular tracking system I’m looking for is a table player tracking system, where the user has to update the parameters in which they rate their customers. and it’s usually an extended way of rating their customers based on the games that they have, the hold of the game, the margins that the tables are generating, and a set of other parameters that are pretty much standard throughout the industry. 

Once the initial setup of the software is done, it’s supposed to convert the points generated given to the customer, and estimate earnings that the casino is getting from that customer based on the point ratings they get. Once that number is confirmed per customer, it will initiate rewards, but will still respect the parameters that the user wants to have — those rewards are then registered in the system. 

Notifications are then sent to the target customers because usually, they have their emails and their phone numbers. It informs the customer about the free play chips that they’re allowed to claim once they come back to the premises of the casino. Once the customer comes back, they just have to give their account number, and the system will recognize them.

Additionally, they’ll need to print their receipts to claim the free chips. These are special chips that is needed to provide the casino. There’s a certain set of rules on how these non-cashable chips can be played — you can’t cash them out but you can claim the winnings that you generate from them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re trying to explore the possibilities for that software because it’s been working out quite well for us. We’re just trying to see how we can outsource the system and find customers willing to participate in getting access to the software.

So far, the team has been dynamic, and I like the way the software is presented. I was clear on what I wanted, and even though it got a little complicated for the calculations, I showed them how to calculate the whole thing. Creating the correct API connections so that there are no mistakes in the calculations has been a little bit more challenging — if not done right, it could lead to big mistakes and errors.

The challenge with casinos is that you can’t know exactly how much money you made out of a customer, as it’s based on averages and statistics. You have to find something that’s really close to what it actually is so that the reward is proportionate to what the customer really deserves.

The project took a lot longer than we expected because we underestimated the details that were required to make the software. So far, I feel confident about the product and how it’s supposed to work, so I’m going to start testing on Friday. I like the way the software was designed and presented, as it looks clean and professional — I’m satisfied with how it looks in terms of the functionalities, but I still have to test them.

We communicate through email and sometimes we have daily meetings on Zoom. They’re very present and they give constant feedback, which is reassuring — they’re also very detailed about what they’re working on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their feedback system sets them apart, and it's very consistent. It makes for a better-finished product because you can always tweak and change little mistakes along the way — this makes them very efficient in the way they work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that I’d change is the project taking less time. The speed of implementation could’ve been faster, but I am a little bit to blame because I’m very detail-oriented and want constant changes.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a crystal clear idea of what you want, and have a fully completed document that is as detailed as possible before starting the project. Next time I do a project with Chetu, Inc., I’ll have a much more detailed plan on what I want to create in order to save time.

The Chetu team scrapped what those previous vendors did and started from scratch. I provided them all of the content and graphics while the team worked on the UI/UX design. The second phase is app development, which the team is still working on.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We're coming up on our first big release and we couldn't be happier with the deliverables and all of the features and functionality Chetu has developed. Not to mention, Chetu provides a lot of great services such as support, security, and basically whatever your team is missing for resources.

We had weekly stand-ups with the entire team showcasing our project's progress. We also received daily 5:15 reports detailing the objectives and, if any, issues they had in development.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive characteristic about Chetu, Inc. is their quick turnaround time for deliverables. From week to week, if a request was made it was, generally, provided by the following week. With previous developers, I feel like it often took months to see real progress.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not particularly, Chetu offers complete transparency during the development process. Also, we appreciate their ability to communicate with us during the pandemic. We experience little to no slip in our development timelines.

I’m the CTO of a title processing company. We do all of our own system designs and have our own contracted people that do the actual programming for us. Additionally, we’re involved in a lot of tech-related activities, from phone systems to looking at new business opportunities we could effectively move into.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

A number of years ago, we started a project to do some automation in the title business, and it eventually evolved into us doing mergers with companies. The whole purpose of me coming on board, was to bring contemporary and modern processing techniques driven by contemporary software to the title business.

We then decided to implement an automation system in place, but we needed to put a programming shop together. To avoid turnovers, we would go for a contractor, who had at least minimal experience in the real estate title business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu does all the necessary programming, including functional testing. They have a whole structure with team leaders, but we deal with them directly and set priorities for them. In addition, they provide low-level design implementation for us, and our own title experts manage all the legal lease documentations.

In terms of contracts, my contact is Paul (Director of Sales), but the one I deal with in most cases is Ashish (Technical Project Manager).

After talking with several vendors, we stumbled upon Chetu. We talked to them and found out they had enough experience we could carry over to a rational conversation. From there, we put a small contract in place, which we’ve increased since the original contract.

What is the status of this engagement?

The ongoing partnership started in May 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since putting up the first full-system they developed for us, our business has more than doubled. The number of people that have been working on the system has gone up about 20%. Results vary by season, but we’ve probably increased our business by 150% over the last two years — which isn’t a bad thing. We’ve obviously been sufficiently happy with them, that we’ve kept them for five years.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do a really good job of making sure they’re invested in us, in the sense that they are a part of our success. We maintain a very good working relationship, and our standards of communication barriers take on several different aspects. Chetu has adjusted their schedules to meet ours so we can have good coordination between the two teams.

They’re invested in our success and they’re willing to make adjustments to make sure the relationship works.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Turnover in the programming world is pain, and Chetu is not isolated from that. The turnover rate would be an area I would love to minimize, but they’re doing about as good as I could expect.

We needed to have a fully integrated solution for our practices to ePrescribe directly to pharmacies through the Surescripts network. We had previous development done but we realized the need for focused and experienced developers with the know-how to finish our implementation.

SOLUTION

How did you select Chetu, Inc. and what were the deciding factors?

We wanted to find a company that has had experience in delivering an ePrescribing integration with Surescripts. After much research and reading reviews, we turned our attention to Chetu. The key deciding factor for us was their attention to detail by giving us a dedicated US-based project manager who has been incredible to work with.

They took an existing ePrescribing integration and turned it into a fully functioning piece of our EHR. We had many pieces missing and leaned on Chetu to complete the development and integration with Surescripts. This was a daunting task and they spent the needed time to research and troubleshoot issues we were having with the integration so it was fully functional and ready to launch. They enable SMS through Twilio and full messaging through the Surescripts network for all prescriptions to pharmacies. They worked with our project workflow and through the needed VPNs for access to Surescripts Admin Console. They made the needed MySQL changes in the database and informed us of every step and every deliverable.

We had a desire to be live in our onsite practice in Q1 and Chetu helped us reach our launch date of April 1, 2021. We have now kept them on for further development and enhancements as well as for future projects. They have met every expectation and we couldn't have launched without their help.

Chetu is extremely detailed oriented and results-focused. They desire to place everyone on the same page and get the intended outcomes we desire. They work efficiently and have been gracious in tackling our most daunting tasks. They have excellent communication concerning our project and an extremely quick response rate on Slack.

We value detailed work, and Chetu delivers. They have a high standard of excellence and you can tell they expect the best from their team. This has been vital in delivering a high-class system to our clients.

There have not been any glaring issues we have come across working with Chetu. Instead, they have helped us reach our launch date.

Chetu has been working on one single project, but with several different modules, including an API project for managing Level UP API and PayCom API, the Windows-based POS application, and a Web Application for reporting.

I happened on Chetu at a Tech conference and decided to give them a try in October 2017. I have been using them since that time for various projects.

Originally they designed and developed an online reporting application that allowed managers and regional managers to see KPIs for each location. After that, they integrated LevelUp with our custom-built POS.

Then they integrated Paycom with our POS. They have also helped with general improvements with our windows-based custom POS.

We currently have two developers, one team lead, one project manager, and one director of operations working on our current project. This number of teammates has been consistent through the years; although some of the people have moved in and out.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They have consistently delivered the products we asked for with the quality that we expected. As for timeliness, there have only been a few instances that the projects took longer than originally quoted, but most of those were because of changes that I made to the requirements.

I receive a report daily from both developers explaining, in detail, what they did that day. We have an ongoing meeting weekly to discuss the project. I frequently communicate via email with the project manager about the project. I have quarterly meetings with the director of operations to discuss the team's efficiency.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The other companies and teams of programmers I have used were always late with their projects. If they told me 6 months it might be a year or more. Chetu was and has been different in that they usually hit their time targets. If not, it is pretty close to what I was originally told.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would say that the most difficult part is getting used to their accents in our weekly meetings (and them getting used to mine). There are also some cultural differences (?) in expectations (as to look and feel etc.) that have to be addressed. Specific expectations of desired look and feel are very important, but that's always the case.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chetu, Inc.?

We had two different systems that had meaningful data but didn’t talk to each other. We needed help connecting both systems.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chetu put together a design and development team and created a data connector for our systems. The tool exchanges information between our two systems so we can have up-to-date reporting dashboards.

We spent about a month creating the actual API. Their QA team spent another week or so testing it. Finally, we deployed it.

We worked with an account manager, a project manager, a developer, and a QA specialist.

How did you come to work with Chetu, Inc.?

We were looking online for different consultants that had familiarity with the systems we were integrating. Chetu came out on top among all our other choices. We saw their white papers and could tell they had the experience we were looking for.

We started working together in February 2020, and we launched in April 2020. Our work is ongoing with other projects.

The new tool has been bulletproof since we deployed it. We’ve since hired them for more projects and intend to keep them busy for at least a couple of years. Their quality and responsiveness are both excellent.

Their project management and organization are excellent. They used a project management tool and provided regular updates to us on different tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project management really stands out. Typically, when we hire external developers, the project management isn’t very good. In this case, it was excellent.

No, they do exactly what they ask in a reasonable time frame. The team offers excellent quality and pricing. There’s nothing I would change.

Your project manager is the most important piece of the team. Make sure you vet your project manager and things will work out well.

We have been working with Chetu for close to two decades now, and they remain one of our key software development partners. Their constant professionalism and expertise in the development, especially with regards to payments, is what convinced us to work with them on this project.

The project’s goal is to create an intuitive mobile application to complement the current web application and API that was built in 2018. The mobile app would allow users to securely send verified checks to anyone, as well as transact with the banks.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The application is not yet complete, but the projected impact is favorable, as it will make our platform more mobile for on-the-go check writing and transferring. Additionally, Chetu’s cost-effective expertise and development practices allowed our application to be done on time and within budget.

We received daily and weekly updates from the team alerting us of the status of each step of the project. We also had as well as regular executive briefings so we were well informed during the entire development process. This isn’t our first time working with Chetu, and, as always, their team worked with extreme diligence and effectiveness.

After nearly twenty years working together, the company continues to stay on top of all the latest industry and development trends and solutions. We are always impressed by their knowledge, professionalism and communication. Their cost-effective pricing allows them to remain an affordable option to companies of all sizes and means.

We implemented NetSuite about three years ago, but made a number of errors in the setup of items, units of measure, etc. Chetu was engaged to assist us in correcting these problems which would allow us to clean up our data and begin the process of relying on the data to run the company.

SOLUTION

How did you select Chetu, Inc. and what were the deciding factors?

We encountered Chetu at the annual Suite World conference sponsored by Oracle NetSuite. They were a preferred partner with NetSuite which influenced us in our developer selection process.

At the time of the initial engagement, we had a long list of projects requested by users within our organization. There were also a number of scripts written by a former employee that had no documentation attached. They have been able to clear out all user requests and have begun to document scripts that were written by our employee.

In addition, several large implementations were undertaken that they have been able to assist including a demand planning application, payroll, and re-departmentalization and reworking our units of measure - very large undertakings. At one time we had a separate team assisting us in redeploying our advanced manufacturing NetSuite app.

We have employed a couple of teams since our relationship began. One specialized in Advanced Manufacturing, the other more general aspects of the NetSuite software. We have had up to four individuals working on projects. One project manager and three developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have had a lot of successes as a result of our relationship with Chetu. The ultimate benefit has been the renewed engagement of our employees in the whole NetSuite process and an increase in their confidence in the data. They have accomplished all that we have asked over the past year and we have asked a lot.

They have kept us informed by scheduling weekly meetings as well as daily updates. There is continuity with having the same project manager throughout our relationship, and we believe that we are getting a great value with the services rendered.

The level of knowledge that all of our assigns have had has been very impressive. They have been able to work through some very complex projects in weeks that would have taken us months to accomplish. They are well versed in a plethora of software applications and I am continually impressed as to how fast they can get our projects completed.

Sometimes we struggle with language, but this has been a very minor issue and has improved dramatically as we have grown more accustomed to working with them.

Chetu was brought on to create a hybrid-model app to work in conjunction with our Magento Commerce website.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to create a complement to our Magento platform to help connect with our users on-the-go. We saw a need for a hybrid mobile app that would allow users to scan QR codes from their phones and quickly source material. We were looking unveil this new app at a major design show, so we needed a company to help complete this on a tighter deadline.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We connected with Chetu online via LinkedIn when looking for Magento support. We had several calls with them and decided they would be the ideal partner to help us with our needs.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Chetu was contracted to develop a hybrid mobile application to complement our current Magento e-commerce platform. The development team used Ionic 3 framework, Apache Cordova 8.0, Javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML5, and Visual Studios to create an application that could be used on Android, iOS and Windows platforms. The team created an intuitive interface that featured a login screen, home screen, QR code scanner, product details, shopping cart, and address inputs. The app did not require databases due to the Web API connectivity. As previously mentioned, we had a tight window (around 45 days) to get this project completed, so this was certainly an expedited project for the team.

Our development team consisted of two developers, a team lead, a project manager, and director of operations.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The launch of the hybrid mobile app was certainly a success, and we were able to see a 25% month-over-month growth in the first year after launching the app.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our development team at Chetu was excellent, they were highly productive. Our tight deadline was an initial cause for concern, but thanks to the team's daily communication we were kept at ease during the whole process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We knew that Chetu was a Magento-certified partner, so we weren’t concerned with their technical knowledge, but we were surprised by their industry knowledge of the design vertical. I think the most impressive aspect was the efficiency of the team. They were able to not only meet each deadline but delivered and error-free project one week ahead of schedule.

Are there any areas for improvement?

In our eyes, this team completed what seemed to be an impossible task. They were highly effective and knowledgeable and we couldn’t have asked for a better partner. I can’t think of any areas where improvements could be made.
